We had a day trip to Tea Gardens, so I consulted Trip Advisor for things to do. Number 2 on the list of 14 things to do in Tea Gardens was the Singing Bridge, apparently so named as when the wind blows the bridge railings make harp like sounds. As we entered Tea Gardens on the Ferry i caught my first glimpse of the Singing Bridge, underwhelmed would probably be an accurate first impression, however on board the ferry the wind was beginning to blow, and as we intended to traverse the Singing Bridge while walking to Jimmy's Beach we realised that there was a prospect of listening to a performance while we walked the 304 meters of the box girder design that crosses the Myall river. Unfortunately though the Diva had stage fright that day, the winds were blowing, but the bridge was silent. I will say however that the views from the Singing Bridge of the Myall River, and a few Pelicans serenely passing by on the water were delightful.
The Singing Bridge is an average looking bridge that connects Tea Gardens and Hawks Nest, that's really all there is to say about it.

Really is it worth writing a review? A useful bridge which replaced a car ferry many years ago. The quirky name reflects a quirky phenomenon, which I have never experienced in my many visits to Tea Gardens - Hawks Nest. Enjoy the river, take a ferry ride, enjoy the beach and the bush in this really lovely place. If you hear the bridge sing, enjoy it. But don't go expecting to hear it.

Beautiful bridge, beautiful day and a beautiful drive from downtown Melbourne. A two-hour drive that was worth it.

Charmingly named, the Singing Bridge, apparently ‘sings’ whenever a high wind whistles through its railings. A local tourist site describes it as a ‘mournful harp’. I’ve not heard it myself but like the previous reviewer, it’s a good excuse for everyone in the car to belt out a song whenever you cross the bridge.
The concrete girder bridge spans the Myall River, linking the twin holiday towns of Tea Gardens and Hawks Nest.
Built in 1974, it replaced an old ferry service which had operated since 1928.
Pedestrian footpaths on ether side allow you to walk across the 304 metre span although the paths are narrow and kids with bikes will probably have to get off and wheel them across. The views up and down the river, especially at sunset, are well worth taking the time to stroll across.
Immediately, on the Hawks Nest side, is the Jean Shaw Koala Reserve, a natural, untouched bushland expanse that is a haven for the local koala population. On the Tea Gardens side, as you leave the bridge are the local fish co-op, Mumm’s Seafood Restaurant, a picnic and fishing area and the Tourist Information centre.
For many years, pelicans roosted on top of the light posts along the bridge. You will only occasionally see one perched there now because the council, sick of running the gauntlet of pelican droppings, installed spikes on the top of the poles to deter the birds. A shame really as the pelicans were such a distinctive feature of the bridge.

Great bridge- our family traditions is to sing while you go over it. Give it a go for a bit of fun.
Great views of the Myall river, tides and dolphins. Watch out for pelican poop ;)

Walking along the peaceful Myall River foreshore, watching the Pelicans, with The Bridge in the background is very relaxing! Highly recommend having fish and chips near the connecting bridge between Hawks Nest & Tea Gardens!

A nice walk. There is a convenient car park on the Western (Tea Gardens) side of the bridge. The view from the top of the bridge is lovely. As mentioned by others, be careful as the path is relatively narrow and passing trucks can be a risk if you are not careful.

I had heard a lot about the bridge so when visiting Tea Gardens we had to see the river and the bridge. Unfortunately there was ni wind today so no singing. Better luck next time. There was a nice view over the river crossing the bridge
