Escaped reality for an hour and sauntered around the beautiful path following Tallebudgera Creek and back up through the remnant ancient forest to the viewing platform with 270 Degree views of the Gold Coast all the way down to Mount Warning. Sensational brisk walkout.

fresh ocean breeze makes a hike here just fabulous - then head down to take a dip in the ocean at Burleigh Heads Beach. After that drop up to James street to the super restaurants there - my favorite is Bun Lee bar +brew.

This is a very easy coastal path going around the bottom of the mountain that anyway can do and then you also have the high route going up and over the mountain with going through a beautiful rainforest and great views to the north and south. This way has a bit more steps!

Make sure you stop and take a dip in the lovely clear water!

3 different tracks so you can take a different one in each direction. I love the view back towards Palm Beach and also watching the Surfers from the top, for a gentler walk take the low road around the base (you'll also get to see how the surfers get from the rocks into the water, it's quite interesting) and if you want more bush go around the back of the loop.

This is a beautiful part of the coast. We are so lucky to have the trail as well as the friends of Burleigh who help maintain the park. Easy stroll along to the creek or go via the hill for a little bit of cardio. Look up because you might be lucky enough to see a koala.

Stunning park with a gorgeous lookout that gives you an ariel view of the coastal side of Gold Coast.

The walk itself is so beautiful that we think it should fall under one of the Must Do Trail Walks

Although we started our trail walk from Miami Beach as we did not have much time and had to leave for Brisbane, you can start from anywhere you are comfortable walking.

Burleigh Heads national park might be described as a hidden gem in some respects. It provides an easy loop walk to the top of Burleigh hill where you have a 180 degree view of Gold Coast to the north and Coolangatta to the south. Lookout overlooks the ocean. Track is narrow given the need for social distancing.

It helps to know, or read up, a bit about geology. The largest shield volcano in the southern hemisphere, Mt Warning, which is close by, erupted 25 million years ago. Those strange rocks - a bit like the Giant's Causeway, you see along the shore are lnked to it.
A fascinating bit of Nature, as wellas being a very pleasant walk.
A gem.

Burleigh Heads National Park would have to be the closest national park to a beach in the country.
There are numerous walkways that you can navigate and they will all give you a great view plus a great outlook.
highly recommended.

Nice easy walk, allowing for options to stay close to water or over the top. Not too long and even works with a stroller.
