Did the Alexandra Cave and Victoria Fossil Cave tours. Both were excellent. The guides were very well informed and the information was fascinating.
The variety of structures in the Alexander Cave from columns to fans and straws was amazing.
The Wonambi Fossil Centre is also worth a long look. Good array of fossils and recreations of extinct marsupials. Not to be missed.

We had no idea what to expect but our tour of the Blanche cave with Amy was SPECTACULAR!! She is so knowledgeable and passionate, it was a true joy to be on her tour. The caves are gorgeous and we loved seeing the bats on the night vision video, will absolutely be back and I’m bringing all my relatives next time!

A surprisingly good place to visit. I have visited caves in England, India and several in Australia. These are the caves in which fossilised mammals have been found. Imagine a wombat like creature the size of a female hippo! Kangaroos taller than a tall man. The visual exhibits impress and the tour of the cave with three chambers that have been excavated so far 25 metres or so beneath the surface. The tour guide was knowledgeable and entertaining, the kids loved her. A truly World Class experience.

My adult kids and I did the World Heritage tour with Frank. It was only us on the tour, and we were able to go behind the scenes to see the working pits. We visited Victoria cave (going in further than the standard tour does), Blanche cave and the Bat Observation centre (with its absolutely unbelievable cameras!)
Normally the tour includes the fossil lab, but a lecture was on at the time so we didn’t get to see that. Frank was very knowledgeable and great company, with a very cheeky sense of humour.
The cave structures are incredible, and the history is fascinating. The 3 hour tour described in excellent detail the reasons for the types of fossils found there, the science behind the dating of the fossils, as well as the geology of the caves themselves and the local area.
I can absolutely recommend the world heritage tour, especially if you’re interested in a deeper exploration and experience of this incredible place.

If you have been on cave tours before there doesn't seem to be much new for most of the tours. The Victoria Fossil Cave tour is definitely worth a look though. Great narration from our guide and certainly learned from the information provided. The fossil dig site was something unique, we haven't seen before.

We had a great time exploring Naracoorte caves on the fossil tour. Guide was informative and was great to experience a different type of cave. Leave plenty of time to check in as the location you need to get to is not at the visitor centre. It is a few minutes down the road from the check in point.

Interesting, caves accessible for most mobility/fitness levels-not wc -friendly, 60-90 mins, great guides, we did 3 caves +lunch break leisurely 5 hrs. When u factor onight accomm night before for detour to visit, pricey for 1 days holiday entertainment. Apologies, I'm a hard marker for my holiday $$ value.

On August 12, 2023, I visited this park with my girlfriend. We had booked tickets in advance, and saw that there were only 12 tickets available per tour.
Once we arrived we were escorted to the Fossil Cave, the tour of which we had booked. Once there, the tour guide arrived. From the beginning, the tour guide was not clear with instructions about what exactly was going to happen, how far we had to descend into the cave, how far we could walk (since she always walked behind). We also noticed that the group was chaotic and that no order was kept. In addition, the group was too large, about 20 people, which is more than the 12 tickets that are for sale per tour.
Arriving in the cave, we saw some stalagmites and stalactites, after which we continued to the Fossil Cave. The Fossil Cave itself consists of two skeletons that you see, with a fossil bed at the bottom of the cave. This is all you get to see regarding fossils.
After the tour ended, we informed the tour guide that we had different expectations, to which we received poorly worded 'reasons' that had nothing to do with what we were complaining about.
One day later I sent the park an email with the fact that we were really not satisfied with the tour, especially considering you paid 37 AUD per person for this tour.
A few days later I sent a reminder, so far no response from Naracoorte National Park... Very bad service from them.

We camped at the camping ground overnight. Bookings are online and the system shows the sites and has sizes. Water, power and unpowered sites available. Facilities OK. Avoid the site near the amenities water tanks as the pump runs a lot. Caves worth a visit, a number of options between self guided or tours.

Thank you for reviews. We are driving from Adelaide and returning to Sydney via Great Ocean Road. Is there camping in the national park? We will be towing a small boat on a trailer. Is the road in suitable? Can you prebook the tours ?
Kind Regards Liz

HI Liz,
We travelled through that area a while go. There is camping very near Naracoorte caves but we camped in place called Black Cockatoo camp (about 20 minutes from the caves). This was an amazing place with fireplaces, yabbying, quiet large spaces. You can prebook the tours online. I hope this helps

Hi there, we are hoping to book powered campsites for two families with 5 children ranging in age from 2-10 years.
Just wondering if anyone has camped at the caves in caravans/ campervans to how clean the ammenities are? And how well equiped everything is??
As well as advice on which caves would be best suited? Many thanks, Amanda 🌻🦇

Yep camp ground is great, and a tennis court for kids games. Some caves are really close, but all the caves are great for kids.

Hi, I have a 6 & 8 year old. Is it worth visiting both the Victoria and Alexandra cave? From all the reading it would seem the Victoria is great for fossils whereas the Alexandra is great for cave formations (stalagmites and stalactites). Or does all this get covered through one cave visit. Happy to pay for different experiences, just want to make sure kids won’t be bored by second cave? Thank you.

Go with the Alexandra Cave tour and you can do the wet cave on your own after if they are up to it.

Hi Carl I only visited the Victoria Fossel Cave so I have a limited knowledge, also this would be a great cave or the boys. You may choose to do two and get a deal. Enjoy our visit.
