There is no parking in the center. There are two pay parking lots on the outskirts. In order to take your car to the center of town you have to purchase a permit and it is only good for 30 minutes. Just enough time to unload or load your car.

Hello Celia. It is absolutely beautiful but the cobblestone streets are a bit daunting. The food was great and so affordable. As we came in for only one day on our Viking cruise I'm not sure how you would navigate if you were staying for a period of days. The castle is up a steep grade but otherwise it is just the cobblestone streets. Skip the marionette museum it's up three flights of very steep stairs and sad that it is so underutilized. Otherwise enjoy the fairytale town!

До Чешского Крумлова можете добраться сами на автобусе с вокзала Флоранс или с главного вокзала электричкой до Чешских Будеёвиц, а оттуда автобусом до Крумлова. Вариантов море. Я люблю путешествовать сама, мне так интереснее. А с турфирмой этой ездила в Дрезден и Национальный парк Bacai в Германию Очень советую этот парк посетить. Чудо!

I was there a couple of years ago, absolutely loved it! It's like something out of a fairytale book. To answer your question, I'd probably set aside 2 days - That way you can truly take in everything without rushing. There are lots of little shops and beautiful eating places that are too good to miss. Not to mention the wonderful tourist attractions mentioned in the other posts. But also, it's just it's just beautful to go for leisurely walks (esp along the river), and just soak up the atmosphere at your leisure - Yep, 2 days ;) Have a wonderful trip!

i went with friends. a full day is enough..but it is a beautiful place, staying a night is also a good idea..

Hi Dave, Sorry for late answer - hope it's not too late... Probably the best way is to take a bus from Cesky Krumlov to Ceske Budejovice (each hour, about 30 minutes ride), and then change to train to Prague. The bus station in CK is noticeable closer to city center than the train; in CB bus station is just next to train. If you'll choose a train only option - it could take more time, and you will have to change at CB. On the other hand, train ride from CK to CB could be funny - usually, these are short trains of 2 or even 1 car. Enjoy your trip!

Greetings, greetings, just came back from Cesky Krumlov (when i see CK its reminds me of Calvin Klein) lol lol lol - there are 2 1/2 parking places for tourist outside the old town, walking distance One is huge just at the main road, it is right next to the Wall where the castle is located, this one is recommended because there is always a spot The second one is near the entrance to the old town, if you don't have reservation at any Hotels inside the old town don't drive in there, you need a permit and the police is always looking for for tourist that did not see the sign at the entrance This 2. parking space is on a 2 -one way street - one street goes into town and the other follows a one way street back to the main road - on that street that are lots of bed and breakfast, there all have their own parking spot, so no parking for you but somewhere in the middle is a public parking space i guess for 5 cars only (that's why the 1/2) Just on that 1/2 parking space you need coins to pre pay your parking, the others you can pay later with coins or bill (only Czech Crown) That's it, i hope i could help a little, if yes give me a dumps up for others travelers to see - drive save - buckle up and enjoz the ride

Salzburg is much bigger and would require some sort of logistics planning. CK is small, no need for taxis, buses etc, just use your feet. Salzburg is way more expensive, if that is a consideration for you. Both are very picturesque but I feel Saltsburg needs more than a day to visit properly. I would vote for CK.
