Art is able to transform our lives. I have offered to some friends a guided tour at the Moravian Gallery to share my love for the very special collection full of beauty inside the Governor´s Palace. I have warned the small group of visitors that they would only taste the exhibition named BRNO suburb of Vienna. Why? – I want all of them to feel the need to return and come repeatedly. We have agreed that I could make a picture if they feel like building a memory documenting the instant relation between the artefact and its admirer. Maybe you will join us next time for the permanent exhibitions of the Moravian Gallery are free of charge. So save the money and invest into your HAPPINESS.

Since I was in a budget I decided to check out this museum (donation based for the main gallery). At first you start with the bookstore, and there's a coat check (free).
The main gallery starts on the 2nd floor and you are greeted with a brief history of Czechia and the Moravian region.
You'll see statues, paintings by Czech, German, Austrian, and Slovak artists as well as furniture.
There's an interactive wall on one of the rooms where you throw balls at a image projection and it interacts or reveals clues. It was actually fun.
This museum has also a second copy of Medusa's head painting (the other in Vienna), and unlike the other, this one is free to look at.
Great place to visit while in Brno.

My life would not be complete without beauty. I am a fan of the community called Friends of the \Moravian Gallery and that is why I was inviited to stroll throughout the renewed exhibition named "Brno a Suburb of Vienna". You have my word that you will get excited. Artefacts presented are of many types: paintings, statues, pieces of period furniture, porcelain, textiles and jewellery too. My favourite part of the exhibition is the mirror maze. Do not forget your camera having the flash off, please. Enjoy every moment and repeat your visit as many times as you wish, the entry is free of charge.

Mooie galerie aan de rand van het centrum van Brno. De collectie wisselt natuurlijk, maar het is een uitstekende plek om je door kunst te laten inspireren.

In the front of the Gallery it was one beautiful piece of art. That kept my attention. The little shop of the gallery is ok and there is a permanent collection and a seasonal one. It worths the time.

The Gallery has a lot of branches, some outside of the city. The art galleries of it are worth to visit, and the Governor Palace itself is very nice.

A floor hosts Czech’s modern art (20th century) and another, ‘new’ art (contemporary). Some temp exhibitions are also happening on other floors.
If you’re into the art scene of Czech and interested in its recent developments, this is t̼h̼e̼ place to go.
1. Find yourself on the modern art section just to realize how these French influences have managed all their way here. It’s everything – post-impressionism, fauvism and cubism. You’ll see a lot of Prochazka’s works as a major representative of Czech painters. Witness how he’s equally torn between the three fashions of his days.
2. Some of the new art comes pretty much too tongue-in-cheek. A neat companion text could have saved the day.
3. New art’s entrance (clip) features von Wedemeyer’s curation, ‘Vermin of the Sky’. It’s a collection of old sculptures, all eroded to great pain. Strangely, you’ll feel a fountainisque presence with the installation in an otherwise suffocating enclosure. And how nature destroys these lovely beings echoes what abstractization has (‘artificially’) taken away.
4. The basement’s ‘open despository’ shows shelves after shelves of sculptures. That is: behind a glass wall, which means you get to see what you cannot see.
(You’ll realize this being a ‘palace’ is much like how developers rename their lowly residences for self-anointed king buyers. And just as I was wondering why there could have been so many downtown palaces in Brno, it turns out the same thing is happening here. The building was built as the residence for Prazak a 19th-century politician.)

Hurry up for there are unique exhibitions to be seen, both until February 24th, 2019. If you are lucky you might combine pleasure enjoying guided tours and taking part in creative workshops too, so check the calendar of the Moravian Gallery on their website. Where to find the exhibitions? The one that is devoted to Josef SIMA is located in the Governor’s Palace and my nickname for it is: "his pictures serve as a mirror reflecting the soul of this artist". Members of the guided tour agreed to say hello to Mr SIMA and invite you to do the same. The other exhibiton decorating the city of Brno is devoted to a very special lady, to Ms Inez Tuschnerova. She was a textile and costume designer. Participants of the creative workshop organized by Moravian Gallery were inspired to produce both a textile picture and textile jewels. Visiting Moravian Gallery in February will offer you unforgettable experiences. Have fun!

My friend and me love art and repeatedly seek chances to be surrounded with beauty. This time we visited the Prazak villa (palace) that exhibits the artefacts made by Inez Tuschnerova, a painter and costume designer. This lady was a successful textile artist. Her world presented by the Moravian gallery is really seductive and we both are looking forward to visit the approaching exhibition devoted to Josef Šíma. Of course we did not skip the permanent exhibitions. We met two ladies from Bulgaria and all of us enjoyed the conversation about the slide that connects the floors. From my point of view this is the best way how to experience the difference between the art of the 20th century and the contemporary art of 21st century. Come and join this joyful art ride, admission to the permanent expositions is free of charge!
