We spent a good amount of time here. The ticket price included a lot! Definitely worth a visit if you are interested in history. Our ticket also involved going up the clock tower which served as an excellent viewpoint.

We arrived at the city museum not really knowing what to expect; but we were greatly surprised. At the time of our visitor held multiple exhibitions —and all were equally interesting. Some of the temporary exhibits were about industrial design, fashion, architecture and heritage preservation: topics that we weren’t expecting to find but that are of great interest to us.
The entrance includes the entrance to a tower that has an unbeatable view of the old town (historic center of Bratislava).
The dungeons were my favorite part of the visit. They were very eerie but interesting.
The museum shop has very cute and affordable souvenirs. All the staff is very welcoming and kind; and everyone speaks english and is happy to help. I recommend visiting this spot.

Very good museum in all simplicity. It is not a great museum like in other capitals but I think it explains very well the history of the city of Bratislava.
I recommend.

A very nice museum located in the town hall and a large number of the items were donated by local citizens. Can be a bit hard to find the entrance but well worth it as a piece of history as Bratislava was a major Roman site as well as the capital city of the Hungarian empire during the Ottoman occupation. One of Maria Theresa’s daughters lived here and it is close to Vienna so she visited often. You can also climb the city tower for nice views over the city. There are helpful guides throughout to point you in the right direction and guide you through the museum. A great stop if you are interested in a history of the city.

On arrival is was great to be met by such friendly staff who gave me an overview of the museum before I set off. Lots of staff on hand for directions around the exhibits. Really interesting exhibits and the view from the tower was a great extra. Well worth the money and a great historical insight into Bratislava. The films used had English subtitles.

It is one of the most significant buildings in the old town downtown Bratislava. It is Surrounded by three beaufil, yet very different plazas.
The museum is nicely set and larger than it looks. You can climb de tower for a beautiful view of the old city and latter go tho the cold underground floor where Ice and prisioners were kept.
We spend a few hours at this museum, and enjoied the visit.

Interesting museum with a great view over the city from the Tower. Be aware that the Tower can only be accessed via a narrow spiral staircase with around 80 steps I also enjoyed the exhibition on 1960s Bratislava, including the events of the 1968 Prague Spring

The museum is located in the old town in a really beautiful building. The entrance is in the courtyard. Thanks to my BratislavaCard, entry was free, otherwise adults pay €8.
There are lots of small rooms to visit with all kinds of exhibits. The whole thing is a bit winding.
You get a good overview of the history of the city. The torture chamber was impressive and also depressing.

Stunning historic building with artifacts dating back to the 3rd century. Really gives you an appreciation for the deep history of Bratislava. It also has a beautiful lookout over the old town. I’m honestly shocked that this isn’t on top of everyone’s list coming here.

We have about 2 hours free time after our 1 1/2 hour guided walking tour of the old town on a Saturday afternoon before we depart the city. I am thinking of spending that time in the City Museum or walking to the castle to visit the Museum of History there as well as the interior of the castle and the view. Should I even consider walking to the St. Elizabeth Blue Church?
Which would you choose if you have been to visit both? Thanks for a suggestion to spend my limited time in Bratislava.
