We started at about the midway point in West Warwick. We parked by the Horgan Elementary School and headed towards Coventry. The first part of the trail was not all that scenic, but that improved as we rode on. Overall we enjoyed our ride very much.

I frequently visit a business in Cranston, RI and walk this trail everyday that I can at lunch and sometimes after work. It's an elevated trail under a canopy of trees (with a few exceptions) that goes through neighborhoods and wooded areas. There are several streams and scenic areas that are great to look at. My only issue is that I don't have more time around lunch to walk further. Someday I would love to walk it in it's entirety all the way from Cranston to Coventry.

I'm in Rhode Island for a class. After school I always like to explore. Found this nicely groomed with lots of space bike trail. The Washington Secondary trail. Felt safe, interesting views, lots of trees along with a river, bridges and more. Like a soap factory that you could smell the fresh soap in the air. The soap building is the burnt one. They have a more modern building. But I think about, Whay stories a building that old could tell.

We started at the Coventry end point. Parking for about 10 vehicles. The trail is clean, newly paved and shaded. Several crossings were encountered but they are safely marked. From Coventry you go down grade so be prepared to return upgrade. We only went 10 miles out and returned. Good workout.

we have done this trail several times. It is quite flat with probably less 150 ft elevation gain throughout the 14.5 mile trail. It is scenic and in my opinion better than East Bay which can be quite busy and has 50 road crossings.

I love the greenway bike path. So beautiful and peaceful. Its nice and flat all the way through too which is perfect for running or biking long distances. They have been recently doing work in the coventry/west Warwick area and it looks great. As of now the path is closed in certain areas due to expansion... But thats ok!! I can't wait to see the new addition to the path... It goes for miles and there are unpaved paths in certain areas that go off into the woods, or a graveyard.. excellent for someone trying to find some peace and quiet.

I have ridden this from end to end once, but use the Warwick to Coventry part at least once a week to ride from my home to the gym. The path is well maintained, and quite scenic in an industrial way. There are plenty of places to stop and get a drink or snack, and access is easy from a number of points. For those who don't mind a little dirt, the path continues west to Connecticut unpaved and ungraded.
Riding in the winter is nice as there is little to no traffic. On the few warm days we had this early winter the increased traffic offered a preview of just how dangerous bike paths become when they are crowded. Nothing to do with how it is constructed; it's just the nature of the beast. So, my suggestion pick a low traffic time, and just ride on the road during the summer.

Is the pavement smooth throughout, or are there rough bits with roots, frost heaves and old pavement? We are planning to go inline skating, so pavement quality matters more than for bikes...

Smooth except the end point in Cranston.definitely avoid the loop around the pond by the school after Loews
