We visited three national parks on our road trip : Glacier, Yellowstone and Grand Teton. Our favorite was Grand Teton. It’s the smallest of the three, but also the least crowded and more relaxing. The mountains were majestic and so breathtaking! We drove the 42 mile scenic loop from Moose Junction and the Jenny Lake scenic drive. Due to time constraints, we didn’t stop at Mormon Row or other sites. The mountains were the main attraction. We definitely want to go back to Grand Teton and explore more of the park. One of the highlights of our drive was seeing a red fox darting across the road. My husband said that was a rare sighting. Tip: look up the 42 mile scenic loop at exploregtnp.com.

I have never seen a more beautiful place! We hiked Taggart Lake and it was absolutely stunning. I would suggest hiking to the lake and then turning back the way you came to make it shorter but it was amazing!

I visited Grand Teton National Park with my family (me, wife, 13, 10, and 6yo kids) after several days at Yellowstone. We stayed in at the Jackson Lake Lodge cabins, which were very nice, but this review is just about the park itself.
The first thing about Grand Teton National Park is that it is spectacular. Unlike Yellowstone, which, while beautiful, is mostly striking for its otherworldly weirdness, Grand Teton is more 'classically' beautiful. The peaks of the Tetons, reflected in numerous alpine lakes and ponds, are rugged, stately, and provide a panoply of awesome views as you see them from different angles, watch the clouds rush through them, and watch the sunrises and sunsets color them. The park is teeming with wildlife, also. We saw bears, wolves, deer, elk, bison, and many birds and smaller animals.
We took the Christian Pond/Emma Matilda Lake trail, which had a lot of interesting wildflowers (and Teton views, though nearly every trail has these). This was good for kids and we saw a wolf and lots of wolf scat. We also visited several of the lake trails, and took the ferry across Jenny Lake to the falls. This was done a little late in the day to get the full benefit of the trip-- better to go earlier and either have time to walk back or leisure to enjoy the far-side of the lake hikes without worrying about missing the last boat back.
In addition to the ample supply of long trails (some too long for our family unit at this time), there are some much shorter adventures to enjoy as well. The Snake River Overlook is very pleasant. We also enjoyed Lower Schwabacher Landing in this ouvre, though the road to get there from the main road was pretty rough in places.
In June, the park was far from deserted, but not crowded. The facilities were overall very well run, though not cheap. More than most of the National Parks that we have visited, Grand Teton is really dominated by this jawdropping skyline, and a lot of the adventure (aside from the wildlife) is seeing it from many angles in different weather at different times of day, rather than having a bunch of smaller parts that one inspects individually (like neighboring Yellowstone). We regularly visit National Parks, and this one really is a gem. Highly recommend.

This is the perfect month to go. The drive was beautiful, and it wasn’t too crowded. We picked up lunch at Jenny Lake. The area is clean and well kept. Do t miss it!

Grand Teton National Park doesn't always get the same enthusiasm as its sister park Yellowstone does. But to miss this smaller park to the south of Yellowstone would be a travesty. This mountain range is absolutely stunning! The park is FILLED with biking and hiking trails. Everywhere you look is a new trailhead or scenic turnoff. I love this park, and the views change depending on whether I'm coming in from the north exiting Yellowstone, or coming up from the south through Wyoming. Plan on spending some time here. Pack a picnic. Go for a hike. Keep your eyes open for wildlife. You won't be disappointed!

This is a picturesque place. Although absolutley beautiful in the winter, when everything looks like winter wonderland, it is best to visit in the spring/summer. In winter, almost everything is inaccessible and the roads are closed due to the heavy snow. But in the spring/summer time, once all the snow is thawed, the lakes become accessible and the blooming plants with the snow covered mountains in the background just create a spectacular sight. There are lots of hiking trails around the lakes, I would recommend bringing a cooler with plenty of snacks and drinks if you plan to explore.

This was our high point for the trip. If you see one thing this is it. Parking was a problem with a large camper though.

We spent 3 days and nights visiting the park...driving the park loop, visiting Jenny Lake, taking the shuttle boat and hiking to Hidden Falls and visiting Teton Village.
The Village wasn't very active at this time of year as it is more a ski resort but we enjoyed riding the gondola to the top of the mountain and seeing the view of the Tetons. All but one of the restaurants were closed in September.
The mountains are gorgeous and there are many pull-offs to enjoy the views and take pictures. You would think all of the views would be the same but each one was a bit different. It was interesting seeing the glaciers in the mountains.

While perhaps less extraordinary from a scientific viewpoint than its neighbor, Yellowstone (also visited on this trip) the vistas in this gem were spectacular. The Inn, while modern, had a "western" feel about it and had friendly excellent service when stopping for a meal and gift shop visit.

We will be spending the last few days of Sept. 2019 in the Jackson/Teton area. What will the weather be like? What about lodging at that time of year? I am a photographer; what will the "color" be like the final days of Sept.?
I guessing I need to make a reservation? I will be leaving Yellowstone August 16th and I want to stay the 16th - 18th at Grand Teton national park. Can you please advise me on who I need to contact?
