Qwerky museum run by friendly volunteers in a dusty little Route-66 town. Easy to find with 2 entrances. Not open on the weekend. Admission is free but please leave do leave a donation so this museum can continue to remain open. Also sign your name & home location as they enjoy seeing where you are from (and it's amazing how many countries are represented!) There are numerous displays in various states of completion and/or haphazardly assembled. It's all part of the fun and there are many treasures to see. We spent about an 1 hour and thoroughly enjoyed Brad the volunteer's hospitality and our leisurely visit. The grounds offer nice shade for a picnic in cooler weather.

Interesting exhibits that you are invited to touch. Such as sitting in vintage Ford. The staff was very formative. A bit deceiving from outside but great artifacts inside.

Super nice staff and a must stop if you're collecting free Route 66 stamps.
Yes, you read that right.
Did you know that there is a free stamp booklet for Route 66 stops? While the stamps don't have the date on them, you could always write in the date. There is both a Route 66 stamp booklet and at this location, a Route 66 Arizona only stamp booklet available.
This is the Route 66 museum in Ash Fork, Arizona and they give away free wooden medallions with the Route 66 logo and town name. Definitely buy something or leave a donation.
There are a few exhibits, including one showing the old train depot as well as a small gift shop in this 117 year old building.
Do not bring children here as the items are put together as sort of a collection out in the open rather than safely stored behind sturdy glass. I could totally see some rowdy kids with no home training knocking something over, so please don't bring them here.
Apparently there used to be a huge train depot as well as being on Route 66, which made the town a hot spot for tourists. Unfortunately now it's a bit of a crumbling town.
There are restrooms, a water cooler and a squished penny machine.

It is just a short block of I-40. The two ladies manning it the day we were there were very friendly and helpful. It’s free. There is only one large room of displays ranging from Indian artifacts, Kachinas, jails, rocks, a model train layout and much more. The prices in the gift shop, for the most part, were more reasonable than you would find in more touristy shops.

They get 3 dots mostly for the volunteer staff. To call this a museum is being kind. In my opinion, this is a jumbled display of old things with not many representations of the Mother Road. Most of what is displayed is not labeled, and seems to be placed in no particular order. They have a small gift shop with reasonable prices, and bathrooms are available as well as a picnic area.

I like small town museums so I jumped out of the car and my husband said he would wait. I went inside and was greeted by a person with so much knowledge of Route 66 and the town. I went out and made my husband come look. Lots to see and cute things to buy. The were even selling home made brownies that were very good. My husband was pleased as he bought a soda for only a dollar. Stop to see this.

We were looking for a place to have our picnic. We found picnic tables here under a big shade tree. The museum was very interesting too.

I wanted to learn more about the long gone Fred Harvey hotel. The museum is a volunteer operation and I was wRmly greeted. Admission is free, but leave a donation.

Well my husband and I weren't expecting much but boy were we wrong, this place is worth the visit for the Route 66 enthusiast. This place is packed with history of Route 66 and the Ask Fork area. Their displays are very well done and the volunteers are right there for you if you have any questions. The prices are really good on the souvenirs they have for sale, my husband got a nice Route 66 hat for $7. This is a "free" museum but they do accept donations and I feel it's better than the Powerhouse Museum in Kingman.

Decided to do as much of Route 66 as possible and started at Ash Fork outside of Williams where we came across this amazing small museum staffed by the most wonderful of volunteers. Really helpful and not only set us on our way to getting the Route 66 passport but also directions to the longest existing stretch can never thank her enough. Please visit and support.
