Do NOT take a Tuk Tuk to get there. You definitely need a car to make the journey. We booked through the spa but it was disappointing. Understand that you're in Honduras where anything can happen on the roads. In our case, the journey to the spa took 90 mins. We were NOT given more time at Luna Jaguar, which was a huge disappointment. The spa is missing out on making money. The spa opens at 2. They should shuttle people from Copan Ruinas at 1 p.m. and then allow people longer time - people will likely be more inclined to use the spa services and eat on site if they're not on such a time crunch. But what do I know. I'm just an American tourist.

We we are able to arrange an afternoon outing to the Lunar Jaguar Hot Springs through the Via Via Restaurant and their partner, Go Travel in Copan, which my fear of a daunting journey through the scenic mountains. So much easier to rely on their expertise. They arranged transportation, massage appointments, and proved to be a great blessing as the honest staff found and even delivered a favorite heirloom ring that one of our party had lost in the van
The hot springs date back to the Mayan Rulers and provide a wonderful relaxing attraction that is family friendly.

Such a unique getaway with friends. I was doing some work in Copan Ruinas and friends and I undecided a trip to the hot springs would be fun. It’s a drive to get there but the views are spectacular. As other reviews have noted, the pools are set in descending order with the coolest water near the bottom. As you work your way up, the water gets warmer. The top pool is pretty hot but very relaxing when gotten used to. One of the pools goes back into a grotto. So amazing!! Very quaint and relaxing. It wasn’t crowded and had a very relaxing vibe.

You need to travel for over an hour on very bumpy dirt roads from Copán Ruinas. Difficult for a 2 wheel drive cars.
Stop at the Macaw bird sanctuary on the way!!!
You have to pay 15$ per person: you get a little tour by friendly locals, and you can spend time going from tepid to warm small pools to sample the water among beautiful foliage and trees.
Surprisingly there were no mosquitoes!
Low key, relaxing and safe place to experience volcanic natural spa.
Tasty local coffee to sample in the cafeteria.
The gardens are well looked after, everywhere is clean, with toilets and changing rooms.

It was great to have a Hot Springs experience in Central America. I would recommend that you take aqua shoes if, like me, your feet are a bit delicate.
I do have to warn you that some of the water is REALLY hot.
‘Well, obviously,” I hear you thinking. “They are called HOT springs.”
Let me explain. Another tour member was taking a photo of me and said the light would better in the next pool over. I slipped over the brick partition dividing that pool from the next and stuck my feet into the next pool. I pulled them out in a hurry though because the water was scalding hot. I have to thank my lucky stars ✨ that I only put my feet in and could retract them hastily. Had I slipped in up to my waist I would have taken longer to get out and may have suffered serious burns. All the pools of water have steam rising off them, even the ones with safe water temperatures. While I knew that the pools would be different temperatures I assumed none of them would be a burning temperature. I obviously should have tested the water first, lesson learned.
It is set out in a natural setting (you know, like a fake natural setting) not like an aquatic centre that just has standard swimming pools that are regulated with the temperature advertised. The place seems to stay open past dark, the lighting is limited so this adds a further challenge.
I’m not saying don’t go, I’m just saying test the water first (like I didn’t!).

Un incontournable de la région. Beau jardin, personnel agréable et bassins de toutes les températures au milieu de la forêt. C'est très beau, apaisant et en 3h, vous aurez largement le temps d'en profiter.
Le site n'est pas exempt de défauts :
- Quelques sentiers mènent ... Nulle part où vers des bâtiments administratifs ou en ruines
- Pas de buvette à proximité directe des bassins
Mais pour l'essentiel, vous en aurez pour votre temps et votre argent. Ce n'est pas tous les jours que vous vous baignerez dans un tel cadre.

This place absolutely blew us away in its scope and imaginative design. We've been to many commercial hot springs, which generally consist of a couple of ho-hum large pools sitting out in the open. But Luna Jaguar consists of multiple small pools of differing temperatures, plus optional mud scrubs, all tucked away on a meandering path you reach via a rickety suspension bridge over a clear stream. In the evening, there are colored lights that play off the rising steam--it's absolutely magical. It's an investment of time and energy to get there from Copan Ruinas, but totally worth it.

There was a shortage of English speaking attendants to explain understandably the protocols and things that we were signing on entering. There are many pools, at various temperatures, to try here. The grounds are beautifully floralled and you can get massages and mud wraps, I believe.

Après plus de 2 heures de chemin nous sommes arrivés à Luna Jaguar.
Si le site est beau c est tout.
Les sanitaires pour se changer sont vétustes. Pas de possibilités de laisser ses vêtements.
Les bassins sont squatés impossible de se poser tranquillement entre les cris et les visites des employés pour les nouveaux arrivants.
L hygiène n est pas super quand on voit des personnes se baigner tout habiller et les employés ne rien dire.
Passez votre chemin
Si le site est beau c est tout.

We didn’t need any extra money because we had a meal included in the price of our visit in the evening. There are some lockers but we didn’t actually use them as it was only our group that was there so we left our stuff beside us. Changing areas were only really the toilet areas. There weren’t a great deal of facilities really.

Desde Copan ruinas estás a 3 min aprox
Para llegar a Copan Ruinas desde Tegucigalpa son 6 hrs más o menos haciendo escalas, gran parte del camino está en mal estado. Recomiendo viajar de día si vas manejando

Bonjour, il faut rejoindre Copàn Ruinas, et de la demander, c'est au nord 15/20 km de petite route. Y aller le matin, car l'après-midi il y a souvent des groupes et la magie ne s'opère alors plus. Profitez bien sur pour visiter le site Maya de copàn. Bon voyage, catherine

I believe that they are open from 9 am to as late as 9pm, however, transportation back to Copán is much earlier. The last local bus is at 2pm or 3pm, and the tourist shuttle arranged from Hotel Patty in Copán, leaves from Copán at 1pm and returns from Luna Jaguar at 5pm.

Tanya at Twisted bar in the square in Copan does an organised trip including the hot springs with a fresh fruit buffet followed by a visit to a typical hill village open air restaurant for a fabulous home cooked experience of Honduran cooking

The shuttle from Via Via took sooooooo long to get there...over an hour. Be prepared for that. Then, when we had finished exploring the hot springs our driver was asleep in a hammock and we were all waiting around over half an hour for him to drive us back. It was annoying.

A long ride through the back country that was well worth the trip . Paid $20 usd and took a good hour to get there . The Springs are worth it . Go !
