We had a late evening flight, and were out of our hotel early in the day. After a few activities during the day, we still had time to kill. This was a great place to go and relax and watch the sunset before our flight took off.

As a resident of Maui Kanaha Beach Park is a dangerous place. With the numerous homeless with psychiatric illness and a hangout for rough locals you must be very vigilant if you take the risk to go there. There is no aloha there. On top of that it is trashy and unkept. It also doesn't help that the the wastewater reclamation plant dumps right into that area of water. Tourists need to know how risky it is and not get caught unsuspecting just because the tourist industry covers for it.

local para descansar, apenas 5 bangalôs de tamanhos variados.
Café da manhã servido na varanda ,uma delícia, as opções mesmo sendo as mesmas, mudam a forma de preparo a cada dia!
Bastante calmo, ideal para quem quer relaxar e sentir a calmaria.
Ambiente muito limpo e tudo novo!

Kanaha Beach Park has a canoe club named Lae' ula O Kai.
Around 7:00 am, I saw many groups return from their morning rowing.
Later in the day, the kite surfers and wind surfers gracefully played in the water.
The park has many grills, a restroom and plenty of parking.

One of the best places to pass time before getting on a plane to leave Maui. People that are REALLY good offshore in every manner of water conveyance in the wind. Watch them and planes that have just taken off and a rainbow all at the same time. Take your last beers, food and watch the cats,chickens and mongooses.

This is a nice beach and park, and if you're up for it, not that bad of a walk from the airport. (not much in the way of sidewalks, but other than crossing the busy airport access road, it's not a bad walk at all). The park itself is nice, and of course....the beach! The woods giving way to the beach and the ocean in the one park area is beautiful. There were other beach access areas, but alas, I did not get a chance to view them.

If you like to kiteboarding and windsurfing you won't regret coming here. you can see 20 to 30 beautiful kites in the air in the morning. The beach is also quiet you can lie down and take a nape under the sea breeze. Too bad, there were some homeless people roaming around. Watch out a dog that kept by the homeless tent people while walking along the beach close to the tree side.

Beach is relatively large with nice trees where the sand ends. And the day I was there, lots of hang-gliders in the air.

Following directions to get to this beach make you think you've made a wrong turn to get there. You think you made a wrong turn with directions, then suddenly you're there, experiencing another beautiful stretch of Maui beach. Unfortunately we were on our way to airport to fly home and couldn't appreciate staying for a "beach day". The wind parasailers (not sure what you call the sport) were amazing to watch. Worth the stop even for a short time to catch some goodby pics of yet another beautiful Maui location.

We stopped here on the day we flew out and it is very handy to the airport. It is so beautiful and quiet the day we were there. Beautiful park with lots of shade. It reminds me on all the beautiful beaches on northern Kauai in the land of Hanalei (the land of Puff the Magic Dragon). It is true Hawaii, in my opinion. There were beautiful birds in the park. If you walk toward the industrial park and harbor on the rock wall you will probably get to see sea turtles. They love the warm waters there. I did not get to do this this time, but did in 2015 when I cruised the islands. The turtles were spectacular.

When you walked from cruise ship pier to Kanaha Beach Park, did you walk along the road or is it possible to walk along the shore?

You might have to walk on road just a little bit then you can hit the beach coast

Hi. I'd like to know about snorkeling at Kanaha Beach Park. I'm happy swimming out to the reef, but would like to know if there is a good reef, coral, fish, etc. Thinking about getting a tiny condo in Kahului.
