YUM!
mar. 2020 • Par
First- nothing is fast on molokai. But this experience is so worth your time. A true education on the history and process of growing true, organic macadamia nuts.

Second- everything you taste here is SOOO delicious. Fresh roasted macadamia nuts, fresh macadamia honey, macadamia oils. YUM!

Third- molokai is the friendly island. This stop lead to an awesome hike we would not have taken other wise.

Hospitality and friendliness on this island are amazing. We have yet to meet anyone who has not asked us how they can help us to enhance our trip! “What can I tell you, where do you want to go, what do you want to know?”

Purdy’s is no different!

Mr. Purdy was very interesting

Loved hearing about Macademia nuts and sampling the goodies. The little store made some local items available and the Macademia wood jewelry was lovely.

Worst experience on Molokai
feb. 2020
NUT farm is absolutely correct! We were looking forward to learning about a macadamia farm, but shortly after the owner started talking things went downhill. When he asked if anyone had any questions, my wife asked a perfectly good question about how the nuts were harvested off the ground. For some reason he seemed to take offense to the question and became extremely rude, belittled her, made it his mission in life to make my wife appear stupid (even other people on the "tour" came and talked to my wife as she was on the verge of tears). Inexcusable, and we left shortly after but even then he couldn't let it go. As my wife said while walking away "Thank you" he yelled "Yeah, whatever". The other one star reviews are right on about this guys quirks and personality disorders. Stay away, or at least be forewarned if you choose to still visit this horrible mans little, trashy farm. Oh, and I forgot to mention the hordes of mosquitoes. Lots of other things to do on Molokai that are truly "Mo bettah".

An education on Macadamia Nuts
jan. 2020
This is a small macadamia nut farm run by a very interesting person with local Hawaiian blood in him. From the start, he said, "I am going to give you an education" and he did. Now I know twice or three times as much about macadamia nuts as I knew before. Never would have guessed the tree originally came from Australia. Remember if you go to Purdy's Macadamia Nut Farm, it is about an education on macadamia nut growing, not a fancy gift shop experience. We all thought it was well worth the time spent.

a highlight of our Molokai tour

This is an all nautural macadamia nut farm and the personable owner gives a very interesting narration of the entire process. You can crack nuts and taste both raw and roasted nuts as well as their own honey. This is not at all industrial, but really a down home place!

Very educational and fun visit.

It is easy to miss and drive past, but if you have a little time, it is a very interesting place to visit. You will see an incredibly compact organic farm where , depending on the weather, you will see how nut are gathered, dried, and the cracked. You get an opportunity to crack and taste fresh raw nuts and learn how they are optionally roasted.

Surprisingly Informative
apr. 2019 • Par
Went here expecting a couple samples and a "buy this" set-up. NOPE - our host (can't remember the guys name) was AWESOME. He was incredibly informative (in a great way), described the industry, agriculture, the farm and the nuts in detail. We had some hands-on opening raw nuts, and enjoyed samples (including some really yummy honey).
This was an unexpected, delightful visit. Swing by and enjoy!

Short but informative visit.

We were able to learn about the different stages of the growth from looking at one tree! The farm has 50 trees for the public to look at, more are grown in another space on the farm.
After the informative session, we got to crack a nut and taste it. The host offered the roasted ones (all natural), some coconut with honey( made from the flower of the macadamia) and a taste of different macadamia oils.
Both the honey and oils are not made there.
As mentioned earlier a short but informative visit.

Macadamia Nuts 101
jan. 2019 • Familie
This is a once in a lifetime experience that is a must if you visit the Island of Molokai. The farm is a family run operation and is the passion of Tuddy Purdy the owner of the small farm. He took us through the whole process of producing macadamia nuts production - a year round operation. We saw the buds, the beginning nuts, the growing nuts, the mature nuts and the finished nuts. We were invited to crack our own nuts and taste them raw right out of the shell. He showed us how he bakes the nuts and served macadamia nut honey ( honey made from the blossoms on the trees). It is a very informative, relaxing and hands on tour in a small orchard of Macadamia nut trees.
