I recently was on a trip to Ethiopia Thru Bree. One of the best experience i had with him in Dallol/Danakil/Erta Ale- always helpful, with a smiling face.
There was literally nothing in the wilderness but the team really made sure that whatever is best possible in convenience from food to sightseeing to facilities- they did that.
A 10/10 experience 🙂

My wife and I took a 6 day trip to Ethiopia (Addis, Lalibela and Gondor. Birhanu wasn't available but our tour guide Dessu was great. Ethiopia is a fascinating country and we hit the high points, particularly the stone churches in Lalibela.
Dessu did an outstanding job, always flexible, knowledgeable, and great fun to travel with. Some of the local guides struggled with English but Dessu stepped in and translate for us.
Can strongly recommend Birhanu or Dessu to provide an outstanding tour of Ethiopia.

Incredible trip with the best guide!!! While traveling I have had my fair share of guides, and my favorite trips are the ones when I’ve connected with an exceptional guide. If you are traveling to Ethiopia and looking for someone authentic, fun, and kind, go with New Ethiopian Tours. I traveled with Birhanu for a tour of northern Ethiopia for 10 days and it was incredible. He is a great travel companion with a great sense of humor, good conversations, super knowledgeable, and so helpful with taking photos. He has so many local contacts too, he really connects you with the best people in the area from chefs, drivers, and local guides. I learned so much, saw so many unique places, and made wonderful connections. Even when we were amongst other tour groups, we felt we had the inside scoop on what was going around us and we never did the cookie cutter tourist things, he really goes the extra mile for a authentic trip to Ethiopia. Seriously one of the best and most memorable trips I’ve ever been on.

Spent 10 best days in Ethiopia with Mr Birhanu, who is the guide and also the owner of this 5 star tour company. For sure the best in Ethiopia. Mr Birhanu is a very knowledgeable, responsible and professional in his field. Out of few people who have inspired me by their conduct, Birhanu is one of them. 100% recommended for anyone travelling to Ethiopia

Birhanu from New Ethiopian Tours is the guide you want. He understands service and Ethiopian culture and history. His North tour of the monastery and lakes, Gondar ( his hometown), and Lalibela’ St George and monasteries was great. He had a very good driver and clean car with AC, charging port, and bottled water. He had guided in the local areas who speak the other regional languages. In the South we went to Jinka and Turmi to see the Murai, Hammer, and bull jumping. He had local guides who spoke the local languages. The bill run was a surprise because they don’t happen everyday. He took pictures for me when it wasn’t convenient for me to have my camera. He also booked and prepaid for my trip to the depression and volcano. That’s some service. Highly recommend you let Birhanu host and guide you through the beautiful and culturally rich Abyssinia. He is college educated and will work with you on payments. He has mixing and matching down to an art.

Birhanu was my tour guide on two trips to Addis Ababa in the past few months, and for good reason. He is flexible, responsive, and understanding, with the unique ability to tailor a trip to your needs.
I was pleasantly impressed with Birhanu's commitment to punctuality. He's always on time, whether for a 5am tour or a mid-day coffee stop. A good understanding of time is an underrated quality in guides, and can make a huge difference for a traveller looking to enjoy all a destination has to offer. He made my last trip seamless, from the time I got in to the time I left.
But what really sets Birhanu apart from others is his knowledge of Addis Ababa and Ethiopia at large. He knows the ins and outs of the country, having travelled around Ethiopia as a guide for over ten years.
Plus, he always goes the extra mile, ensuring you've checked all the sights off your list and even more.
Overall, if you're planning a trip to Ethiopia, go with Birhanu for an unforgettable, mesmerizing experience.

Booked a day trip to Debre Libanos with the company, quick and easy booking process and a great way to spend a long layover in Ethiopia!
The tour started exactly on time and was great. My guide and driver were very friendly and knowledgeable and had an answers to all of my questions. Professionally organised and well communicated throughout all the processes!
Highly recommended!!
