The place is lovely pleanty of green and fresh aire.
But why they don't sell the vegetables? I have seen around salad, zucchini, Tomato and they sell only sellers and rosemary!!!!
I can't believe they have so abondance and the do not sell it out.
Restaurant not at the level of the original Bettucci. Food was not good and pizza not available

Though it's called a museum - it 's not. One small room with some paintings by local artist. Food takes alot of time to come out from the kitchen. Staff needs more training to take orders and execute. I ordered double whiskey, they poured me a single and claimed its the double. It is a OK place to take kids out - but it is not worth the entrance fee they charge. Not worth it - just a one time visit place to see what they offer. Disappointing!

Nice but not a museum. I think there was a mismatch of expectations but the staff seemed quite confused when I asked for some information or where the exhibitions were! Probably nice for children, less so for curious adults. You could sit and read a book I guess.

Refreshment in the city! The areas are very well built, have lots of different plants and have interesting vernacular architecture. The only thing that’s missing in this place is some pieces of information. I’d suggest putting some texts, explaining what type of plants, or story about the constructions that can be seen during the walk.

Visitors and residents of Addis Ababa with young children often find it challenging to find reasonably priced, suitable, safe green -space, holiday-season edutainment options. Fortunately, Zoma Museum is one of the excellent exceptions, and after today’s visit, I will place it in my top 3 recommendations for parents with young children visiting or living in Addis Ababa.
My party of 3 adults and 2 young children
found the under 600 Birr entry price quite reasonable, especially as we had just forked out 2400 to visit Unity Park 2 days before. Foreigners will breathe a sigh of relief not to be gouged with an additional fee like in so many of the cities quality attractions.
After some fascinating photography and artwork amidst a lush tropical ambiance, my children immediately gravitated to the art cabin where developmentally appropriate-sized furniture and ample art supplies were available for small children to create, collaborate, communicate and connect.
We had to drag the kids kicking and screaming out of the art hut but they soon settled down when they heard the Christmas music and saw other children enjoying sliding, jumping, twirling, blowing bubbles, etc on the central green space area, which featured inflatable jumping equipment, pictures with Santa, and of course, plenty of vendors to help separate that hard earned cash form parents pockets!
Continuing on our merry way, we found ourselves surrounded by more lush greenery behind the central area as we entered the edible garden area.
As an educator myself, I found the edible classroom concept particularly interesting and my children marveled at the numerous garden setups during our tour of the garden. The young students who attend the Zoma Museum school are truly fortunate indeed.
After our garden tour we continued wandering around the many pathways and taking in all the scenery. Unlike so many other venues in the city, bathrooms at Zoma were plentiful and exceedingly clean.
Overall, it was a wonderful afternoon of engaging developmentally appropriate, culturally informative entertainment.
Zoma Museum. especially during their special seasonal event days is simply a must-see and must-do for all parents with young children in Addis Ababa!

I visited Zoma Museum in Addis Ababa today for the second time. I find it still interesting and worth visiting especially for visitors who want not frequently visited but nice places in Addis Ababa.
The art reflected on the mud (dirt) wall is fantastic and inspirational. Zoma Museum also has a spacious garden to learn about Ethiopia’s plants. You can also spot few interesting birds. We saw the nice-looking Paradise Fly Catcher.
One thing I recommend to improve is to hire engaging tour guide who knows all about the museum and botany very well and explain in good English.

green green everywhere!
Contemporary museum of Addis Ababa. its a huge place with lots and greenery , where a city dweller can enjoy the green lushes. its a perfect place to spend a relaxing Sunday with family and friends. it has a small souvenir shop. a cow feeding place and children art room.
many empty rooms which will be used for future prospective.
the whole museum is made from brick, stones, straws and cows dung.
the walls designs are made from cows manure which fascinated me the most.
the entry fees is very nominal

Zoma is such a beautiful place, but it also represents the hope that so many of us have for Addis Ababa. With so little green space and parks in the city, it’s no wonder that locals and foreigners alike flock to this place. We all hope for more places like this. We hope for clean rivers and clean air, places of natural beauty, and spaces where our kids are free to run and play. In fact, my wife feels like she can now survive in the big city, knowing that she can regularly retreat to Zoma.
The customer service has also been great. My family experienced a challenge and reported it. Someone in leadership got back to us right away and resolved our situation. The willingness to listen to us and the promptness at addressing our situation is a model as to how customers should be valued.
Finally, I’m looking forward to what Zoma is becoming. It is already a great place, but it has some areas in which it could improve/grow. In talking with one of the leaders, it seems like much more is in store. And again, this gives me hope. I’m glad I’m a member!

We went to the zoma museum and were absolutely thrown away by the beauty of the garden and the architecture. They have beautiful flowers, a higj diversity of plants and animals. We spent 3h there.

This is a beautiful arboretum with a variety of colorful trees and plants. It has lovely flowing water and multiple pathways to wander. Birds flock to the flowers of nectar and the seeds and there is a choice of two patio areas for drinks and snacks. It is peaceful to just sit and relax. One would never know one is in a crowded city.
