Leilani was super efficient and always responded to emails quickly when we were enquiring and booking the trip. We did a three day tour to Sossuvlei - it was probably too short given the long journey we made from South Africa. The scenery was amazing though - quite eerie at dawn when the sand glows red with the sunrise. It’s quite Mars-like! Farid was our guide and he is a very special human being; a beautiful soul, unbelievably knowledgeable and dedicated to getting us to see things and most of all return safely. We had problems with the vehicle which had a starter/key issue which became very stressful on our way back to Windhoek airport as it broke down three times. Farid kept calm and collected until the problem resolved every time. He also spotted a hole in one of the tyres and changed it before it stranded us somewhere as happened to some of the other tour vans. The only other issue I would flag up is that Airlink lost my luggage in Johannesburg and although they got it to Windhoek the next day, it was hell to get it delivered to Sossuvlei and I only received it hours before leaving. More support on sorting that issue out would have been helpful. It seems to be a common problem so maybe travel light with cabin baggage only!

I did a lot of research on tours in Namibia: I reviewed ay least 30 different tours from at least 7 different companies. The best prices (cost-benefit relation) and tours I found were Wild Wind Safaris. I work on environmental policy so I didn't want to go on only a Safari, but also get to have a full biodiversity, cultural and ethnic experience, and the only agency that offered this option was Wild Wind Safaris.
Even if I contacted them within a relatively short time ahead of traveling to Namibia, they were incredibly efficient in sending all the required information, replying emails, organizing and booking the trip on the exact days that we needed. Leilani (our contact with Wild Wind Safaris) was always kind, efficient and incredibly pacient at our requests of information and solving some issues with had with the payment of the tour, making the preparation of the tour incredibly easy and smooth.
The tour was absolutely AMAZING!!! The whole experience was unforgettable and even if it was low season, each day was full of breathtaking surprises. Namibia is a wonderful country and experiencing it with Wild Wind Safaris was the best decision and an absolute delight. Everyday left us with the feeling that things couldn't get any better, but somehow it would be even better.
I must say that the perfect combination was taking the tour with Wild Wind Safaris and having Akser Simeon as our guide. He made our visit simply MAGICAL!!! Every single detail was PERFECT: places visited, cultural experience with the San and Himba peoples, food, lodges, nature, people (Namibian people are the best: warm, loving, kind and always joyful), safety, organization... the whole experience was INCREDIBLE!!!
Akser is undoubtedly an EXTRAORDINARY asset for the company and he's definitely one of Namibia's assets! He is very well prepared in terms of tourism and nature, he's an excellent and careful driver, he's a super respectful person, he's always helpful, sweet, attentive and patient, he's a kind soul, and the BEST company to travel in Namibia! I can even dare to say that he was part of the highlights of our tour! We are very much willing to go back to Namibia and we would love for him to be our guide next time we visit!

Thank you so much to the team at Wild Wind Safaris, particularly Jephta (Jeff) Kapuenene, for creating such an incredible tour experience for us in Namibia! From the moment our group of six friends stepped out of the airport in Windhoek, we felt cared for in the most welcoming and supportive way. We saw incredible beauty and wildlife in Etosha and Soussevlei, and had so much fun learning and exploring. Highly recommend this tour to those travelling to Namibia - we will be back!

I booked my clients on a tour with Wild Wind Safaris. The staff member I dealt with was helpful but inadequately trained and there were a number of unnecessary errors during the booking process, one of which was that their guide knew nothing about the tours I had booked and paid for. In the process of trying to sort this out I had the misfortune to have to deal with one of the rudest and unhelpful men I have ever had the misfortune to come across. I would not recommend this company.

We did the Namibia highlights tour in mid-October. The tour is well designed with long drives given the distances to travel. I visited places were wonderful and the lodges upscale. The food was always great so everything was super!.
However, I have to say a few more words for our guide Michael, who has contributed his knowledge in the field of historical geology and fauna , to make this trip a real experience!
The only thing I recommend to travelers is to evaluate the amount of water during the visit to epupa falls that implies a day and a half of travel. In this period the river Cunene is quite empty and the impact is not that of when the falls are at full capacity. The scenery is still very beautiful. If you are not convinced better to match us activities closer to etosha!

Namibia is a gorgeous and safe country but I was concerned about driving through an unfamiliar country so we hired a guide. Jephta Kapuenene, our guide took us on a wonderful journey across Namibia in an air-conditioned 4 wheel drive. From Windhoek to Etosha, he made our trip so easy and smooth. He was always punctual and professional. He spoke up for us, gave us good recommendations and looked after us. I really felt that he genuinely cared for our well-being as though we were family. He made sure we saw all the animals we wanted to see in Etosha. He knew the park well and was determined to meet our goals but gave us realistic expectations. We saw two lions and 2 lion cubs in our 1 and a half day stay in the park! Despite the bumpy roads and many cars along the way that had flat tires, we were unscathed. Jephta made sure to drive safely but efficiently. He even set us up for an awesome ocean tour in Walvis Bay on our free day. It was great that Jephta is a good conversationalist as there are long drives between our destinations. We touched on a diversity of topics during the tour that gave me a good education of the topography, wildlife and history of Namibia. I highly recommend WWS and especially Jephta!

The tour organized by Wild Wind Safaris was fantastic! Our guide, Michael, was incredibly professional and well-organized. While you might skip traditional safari drives in the south of Namibia, the breathtaking panoramas and stunning canyons are truly unforgettable experiences.

Really great 23 day tour of Namibia, Botswana and Vic Falls with Wild Wind Safari's. The planning was detailed and everyday was an adventure. Good lodges, all meals were included and the driving times were realistic. Our guide Michael was really knowledgable about the wildlife, landscapes and cultural experiences. He was also a good driver and fun to be with for a lengthy tour.

Hi, we (group of 2) plan to arrive Windoek international airport from Victoria Falls on July 31 (Wed). We would like to visit Sossusvlei beginning on the next day (Aug 1, Thurs) and return to Windhoek by afternoon of Aug 3 (Sat). It seems like the Desert Getaway tour may suit us. I have a Namibia tour that starts in Walvis Bay on Nov 2, and goes to Etosha and other wildlife areas. I will be flying from Jo'burg on Oct 31, and would like to visit Sossusvlei to see the Big Daddy and other sand dunes (just to photograph, not climb). Does your company do a 2-day trip like that, and if so, is it better (i.e., cheaper/more convenient) to base myself in Walvis or Windhoek? I would need to get to Walvis NLT noon on Nov 2. Thanks!

Hi, if you have a tour starting in Walvis Bay it's sufficient and best to arrange quick Desert Getaway (and for photography 2 nights will be advised somewhere near Sesriem entrance gate or within the park at Sossus Dune Lodge which enables early access to the park, without waiting for opening of the gates and queue. We may help to arrange your Desert Getaway however best will be (and cheaper) to research operators in Walvis Bay to provide transfer to Sossusvlei. We are based in Windhoek. Hi,
We are flying into Windhoek on 19th May (from Cape Town) and flying out to Victoria Falls on 27th May.
In the 7 full days from 20th to 26th, we would like to do a 3 day tour in Etosha. We are not crazy about animals but we would like to see the distinctive features of the park.
Is there anything you could do about it ?
