We used Adventure Trails for a 2 day trip to Akagera National Park at the end of a visit to Rwanda. Jackie in the office was really helpful and quick to respond to queries. Our driver John-Bob was great, and the safari vehicle was comfortable. We were picked up from our Kigali hotel and dropped at the airport in perfect time for our flight home. In the park we had a game drive and a dusk boat trip, and we stayed in luxury tented accomodation, but Jackie provided quotes for other alternatives and will accommodate whatever you require if it's possible. Highly recommended.

We used adventure trails to tour Uganda and Rwanda and see the Silver back gorillas. We would really recommend them, everything ran smoothly the accommodation and food was fantastic and our Guide was excellent. Our guide Richard deserves a special mention so if you do book with adventure trails I would ask for him as I think much of how smoothly everything went was down to Richard recommending certain activities and calling ahead to make sure everything was still ok. He was very knowledgeable on wildlife and the politics and workings of Rwanda and Uganda, we had some very interesting discussions with him. He was also really good fun and had a great sense of humour.

Wir haben ein sechstägiges Gorilla-Tracking in Uganda und Ruanda gebucht und sind "Viel- und Weitreiser". Diese Tour hat uns, beginnend mit der Schönheit von Ruanda, geflasht. Insbesondere möchten wir Denis für die gute Organisation danken, unser besonderer Dank gilt jedoch unserem Guide Douglas, bei dem wir und zu jeder Zeit sicher und immer mehr als gut betreut fühlten. Wir würden jederzeit bei Wiederkommen, nochmals,um Douglas als Betreuer bitten. Dieser Mann fährt so toll und sicher mit seinem Jeep, die schwierigsten Strecken, Paris-Dakar ist nichts dagegen. Wir können uns nur noch einmal so herzlich für alles bedanken😀😀😀

I contact Denis while I Was on a short business conference in Uganda and he right away organised for me a wonderful Gorilla safari. Jacob my guide was so helpful and informative about everything that I asked. I am looking forward to visiting again with my family in a nearby future

In late September 2014, along with two of my children (in their twenties) and a friend, I did a gorilla and golden monkey trip with Adventure Trails out of Kigali in Rwanda. From the early booking stages through to our final drop-off, I was very impressed with all aspects of the organisation.
From the outset, Agnes replied promptly and fully to our emails and provided additional helpful information. On our arrival at Kigali airport, we were met by our smiling driver, Patrick, who for the next three days drove us around Kigali and then up to the mountains for the the two treks. He was not only a very safe driver but also provided us with lots of background information. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble for him and he managed to fit in extra stops to suit us. Further the vehicle was both comfortable and spacious.
We had booked "budget" accommodation and so did not have high expectations for great comfort. However we were pleasantly surprised to find the accommodation at our two hotels (Chez Lando in Kigali and Kinigi Guest House in the mountains) was more that adequate. Rooms were clean and adequately furnished and while the plumbing was fairly ancient everything worked and the water was hot.
Of course the actual treks were amazing and it was surprising how close you end up being to the gorillas especially when they come tumbling out of the bamboo from behind you!
At the end of the trip, it was a real surprise to receive a gift of a gorilla footprint from the tour company.
Perhaps the only awkward part of the whole trip is trying to pay US dollars to a Ugandan bank account from Australia. But having mastered the process, it will be easy next time!
Overall, the trip well exceeded our expectations and I have no hesitation in recommending Adventure Trails to those wanting to visit the Rwanda mountain gorillas.

It all started when I was looking up on the internet on how best to do a gorilla viewing adventure, then I came across Adventure Trails, never felt it was this good dealing with a company based in Uganda. Agnes was first in responding to my requests and even though it was about going for gorillas only, I had a spare day and she advised I visit Queen Elizabeth National Park something I was hesitant at the beginning but said why not give it a short. Coming from South Africa, I knew I had seen all what I need to see in terms of wildlife something true in its sense. But Queen Elizabeth was totally different, the Ishasha part is really wonderful, look so natural and really amazingly un contaminated, thanks to Agnes, I had the best time game viewing than never before.
Our choice of accommodation was wonderful, being it was just an extension, she proposed Ihamba Lodge, which was great but the highlight was at Mahogany Springs, right from the time we stepped into the lodge, to going for tracking and to the time we left, it felt always like we would never want to leave and indeed we never wanted to leave and the drive back was wonderful through those hils, and our guide Amos told us it was our lucky da, as we passed through Lake Mburo National park and we saw some Zebras near the road side. It was great thanks Agnes for organizing such an amazing Adventure.. I will definitely come back for the falls, as I have read a lot about them.

I asked Adventure Trails to organize my 3 day Gorilla Trek….
Accommodation / Food (as posted on Mahogeny Springs Trip Advisor Profile):
Many people have already raved about the location so I'll just say "I second that". Incredible views from the main lodge and an outside couch that me and my girlfriend spend hours on one rainy afternoon that inspired so many great thoughts. I was blown away by the customer service - everyone was incredibly helpful, friendly, and courteous…we came back from Gorilla trekking with muddy boots and left them outside our room to let them dry and when we returned from dinner the staff had cleaned them like new. The food was amazing and despite our dietary requirements that most places struggle with, the chef created customized meals for us that rival most 4 star hotels in the US. We had some extra time to explore the area and they drove us around to a few of the local spots. All in all, an incredible place and highly recommended!
Booking & Drivers:
Denis from Adventure Trails was incredibly helpful in our booking process and was quick to respond to my inquiry and helped me tailor a program to fit my exact needs even when they changed during our trip. He was always on call via phone and email to help our trip be the best it could possibly be. The drivers were safe and on time, which are things hard to find!!!
Expectations & Recommendations:
Adventure Trails met my expectations of great customer service, quick response, easy credit card payments, and a clear itinerary. I was choosing from 13 different tour groups and Adventure trails was one of the cheapest that delivered a very high quality product (my favorite combination)!. I would recommend them to anyone coming through Uganda!

I am thrilled that I am going to be the first to comment on here. Very nice indeed, I travelled with Adventure Trails and felt I am really at home with them. Our guide Silver was everything you would ever want especially in a foreign country where you know a few people. He was so helpful while with us on our tour, we went to Jinja and Murchison Falls, and we were told of how amazing the gorillas are. We surely will be back with Adventure Trails and Silver as our guide.
