If you are interested in History then you will find it very exciting. The museum is small. The main part is on the 1st floor. Please make sure you take a guide who will explain in detail which will get more interesting.
Only issue is that for foreign nationals the entry fee is 135 K which is quite high. So go only if keen

If you are into museum, if you alwaysbkike to know something about history, this museum is for you. It helps to understand the history behind Zambia and larger than life figure of Mr. Kanudo
However, it's a very small museums. One floor is dedicated to history and freedom struggle. And other floor was dedicated to Humans evolution like a typical African museum.
135 Zambian Kwacha is not justified as entryfee for this small museums. They dont have special things to buy form their shop also.

The upper level of the museum was excellent. The displays included archaeological evidence of the development of modern humans, political development, ethnography of Zambia and its tribes and languages. It gave a comprehensive overview. The museum was cool and the atmosphere was quiet.

Great if you want to know about Zambia's history; from stone age, through colonial period, to present day Zambia. Located along Independence Avenue, next to the government complex. Amount of USD 5 is charged as entrance fees for foreign tourists.

The museum is in a nice building in a busy central area. There are no information for visitors at the desktop. The visitor should find its way alone.

Quite a thorough look into Zambia's political history, also some natural history about the country. Nice gift shop.

This place was FREEZING during the dry season of June/July. It's a great museum with a ton of information on the history of Zambia and relatively neutral in their presentation (as oppose to biased to display everything as glorious), which is great.

One quite nicely covering the nation's history (although not as big as some of the bigger national museums I've been to elsewhere but instead one "fairly compact" in its floor area for displays inside), to see at this museum are displays of history ranging from the pre-colonial time likely dating all the way back to the prehistoric time (artifacts including some human skulls & a furnace likely for smelting of metals and also a wall mural scene of a prehistoric village or such) to the colonial time and the subsequent time of the early republic after the independence (both of those time periods on display with nice info signs which are really "pretty informative" accompanied by some corresponding illustrations & historic photos). And actually apart from those timeline-displays of the country is also some sizeable room filled with something of a "model village" but one to walk through as if being in a real village (for its quite an impressive set of human figures which are both "life-like & life-sized" with also a number of huts & dwellings also on real-life scales).
After buying my bus ticket for the next day's trip to Livingstone, it was just about a 10-minute walk from that outdoor bus terminal to this museum where just before arrival was stopping by the so-named Freedom Monument (a statue of a man after breaking the chain around his hands) and where also it was pretty great to see right on arrival at the museum entrance a big statue of a warrior or such holding a spear (the entire statue made of iron or such) & also a pretty sizeable statue of a lion (the one still remaining of two such statues from the colonial time when they used to sit outside some important building). And also going on at the time of my visit was a "temporary exhibit" of the 75th anniversary of Unicef in Zambia (with a nice collection of "enlarged photos" & info signs to learn about the valuable things done for the country).
