I walked from Bang Phai station on the MRT blue line. It's about a 10-minute walk.
Unfortunately, the Great Buddha was under restoration, but the ceiling on the fifth floor of the pagoda was clean.
I don't think you need to bother coming here for this.
If you have time, it's best to go with Wat Kung Chan , which is right across the river.

An incredible site with its 64 m high Buddha. Next to a white tower that can be visited with on the top floor an interior dome of all beauty. Nearby the temple. Everything is free.

The top floor is beautiful, as you can see in various photos, and the exhibits on the other floors are also educational. It's best to take the elevator to the top floor and then go down the stairs one floor at a time.
You can go on your own, but it's also a good idea to go with a guide, as you can learn about Thai Buddhist views from the exhibits.

Well worth going to this temple to see the gigantic Buddha statue. We took a taxi there which didn't cost much. Nice environment to walk around to look. It is on the river so river boats also stop there but we didn't try that. Nice inside the pagoda.

It's worth the visit, if you look nearby there is also a small boat ride on the canal around the temple.
Interior of the temple with many more or less interesting relics.
View from above and huge statue.

I visited this place on the recommendation of my cousin. Inside the building, there are exhibits on the first to fourth floors. There are also many Buddha statues. The top floor, the fifth floor, has a green dome-shaped ceiling, and the highlight is the fantastic emerald-colored roof that can be seen here. It was very beautiful. The huge golden Buddha outside was also amazing. I was simply overwhelmed by its size and presence.

My second visit to Wat Pak Nam Phasi Charoen, an amazing temple. In July 2023 there were less tourist around but even this time on a Sunday it was not too crowded. I took the MRT to Bang Phai station, Exit 1, and then down the stairs or with the elevator, it takes about 15 minutes to reach the pedestrian bridge over the canal, and then to the grounds of the temple. There is the Meili Café near to the bridge, good espresso and brownies.
There is so much to see at this temple, of course the giant Buddha statue is the main object for pictures. From the pagoda which is behind the Buddha pictures of the area can be taken. In the pagoda there are several levels to climb up the stairs, definitely worthwhile to do.
Several foreign women walked around with very tight shorts and bustier, unfortunately the Thais are too shy to tell them that wearing such dress is very disrespectful.

Like a lot of Bangkok it’s all where you least except it. And so close to other buildings it’s hard to take a picture that shows how good it is. I liked visiting here. I buy it’s in the tourist trail so busy but still worth seeing. Use the river buses to go as easy.

Share my favorite temple in Bangkok
This temple is located in the Phasi Charoen district of Bangkok, Thailand. It was built in 1610 AD as a place of spiritual practice and later developed into an important Buddhist center. Later, it was abandoned for a period of time. The water gate temple was in disrepair until 1916 when it was rebuilt and restored by the famous abbot Luang Pu Sodh Candasaro (Luang Pu Sodh Candasaro; หลวงพ่อสด จนทสโร), and it was restored from 13 The number of monks has grown to more than 500. Luang Pu Sod Chamthasaro, who is well-known in Thailand, is the founder of Samut Prakan Temple and the rediscoverer of Thailand’s Vijja Dhammakaya meditation method and has spread it to all parts of the world.
Subsequently, under the leadership of the new abbot Somdet Chuang, the 80-meter-high white pagoda "Maharatchamongkol" was completed in 2012. At the end of 2021, a 20-story Buddha statue was built in the temple, which is the tallest Buddha in Bangkok and the third tallest in Thailand. I heard that a Japanese Internet celebrity vigorously introduced this place, so many Japanese tourists will make a pilgrimage here. We met a lot of Japanese people on the day of our visit. In addition to the spectacular pagoda and Buddha statues, the most eye-catching thing is the green glazed pagoda on the fifth floor of the pagoda. The bright green dome and magnificent carvings are very dreamy. There are many Buddhist cultural relics on display from the first to fourth floors, as well as many statues of abbots.
Friends who travel to Bangkok must not miss this place. You have the opportunity to spend half a day on a pilgrimage. There are no tickets for temples and pagodas. It is worth a walk.
