We travelled on the yacht today for a sunset cruise as a group with other travellers. It was a beautiful afternoon, we were a little worried as it started to rain not long before our departure but the weather broke and it was lovely and fine. Not too hot or cold.
We travelled with our two children age 4 and 9 and they both loved their afternoon. They were the only children on the tour but it was a really friendly small group atmosphere.
First we were greeted by our host Tanya at the marina and were welcomed aboard with fruit platters, champagne, beer or other non-alcoholic drinks, we set off and Tanya provided us with very clear and friendly instructions of what to expect for the day, she was fantastic and spoke in Russian and English, and also worked hard to communicate clearly with another nationality on board. First stop was swimming off the boat (life vests available if you need). After swimming we moved onto fishing which was a highlight for us, everyone on board caught quite a few fish each, they are only really small so no good for eating but that didn’t matter as the nice crew hands cooked is a beautiful dinner to enjoy (prawns/shrimp, salads, fried rice, larger fish). We finished our evening watching the lights on Vinpearl and the mainland. Unfortunately due to the overcast weather we didn’t get a sunset but it was still a beautiful afternoon/ evening.
The only downside was when we disembarked the area could do with more lighting, Tanya our host gave fantastic instructions as to how to make our way back to the gate, but it felt a bit strange walking through the marina and oceanography museum in the semi-dark. This is obviously out of Catamaran VN control but more something to beware of when returning.
