easy to find, right off Jaffa Road, near Kikar Davidka
an amazing selection of new, used, rare and vintage books on every subject in many languages
Be sure to pick up a packed calendar (in Hebrew, but the owner, Lior, will translate) for the schedule of FREE evening activities -- everything from meditation to poetry readings.
If you're a bookstore enthusiast, plan to spend some time here.

Holzer's Books isn't just a book store, but a magical place. Packed tightly within the small store are thousands of books from every possible genre, each one telling
their own unique story or giving valuable information.
The smell of the old books are intoxicating, and it is exciting to open one and know that someone else enjoyed this book, and to wonder about the previous owner.
The owner and namesake of the store, Leor Holzer, is a kind and holy man. He's the one with the never ending long braided hair and warm smile. He isn't just a collector of books, he is also a genius and a poet who has written his own books and is currently writing more.
Every night at the store, in a cosy reading space with beautiful artworks covering the walls on the second floor, there are free classes by different authors, spiritual teachers, poets, and even Leor Holzer himself.
This makes the bookstore not only a place to buy books, but a cultural hub . Many people of different faiths, nationalities and life styles come to the classes, and we always talk after class, have open and deep conversations about life or whatever we have just learned, and we get to know each other. Cultural and religious gaps are bridged and we all become more open minded.
All of this together has given this unique book store an exciting, magical and mystical vibe.
This is a must-see experience for tourists, Israelis and Jerusalemites alike.

I love going for an hour or two and just perusing through stacks of second hand books looking for whatever gems I can find.

This cozy store is jam-packed with used books, in Hebrew, English, and other languages. The selection of English Books is amazing, with everything from Asimov to Zuckoff.
There is even a small reading area upstairs which has something going on (interesting and free) almost every night.
Even my boys look forward to stopping by.

If you ever find yourself in Jerusalem and you are looking for another place to visit look no further then holzer books when you walk in the store you will be greeted by an interesting character known as leor holzer who will smile and welcome you warmly imidiatly you will notice hundreds of different books to open and look apon if you see one you fancy you can take your time to go upstairs to a nice little sitting lounge where you can read as much as your heart desires and believe me there a lot of books 50,000 books to ecsact in many different subjects and leungueges . Holzer know everything it's pretty amazing witch is why if you don't feel like reading at the moment you can feel free to ingage in a conversation with holzer himself wich I recommend you do I've found myself talking to him for hours many times and on many subjects.but wait there's more to the store then that every day he has lectures there witch you can attend free of charge and there are many and very good and interesting lectures to attend. In the end it's your choice what to do there but go there believe you won't regret it for a second and hey who knows in all that you might even buy a book or two .
