Well worth 40 min drive from AUH. Vast collection of mostly American cars but also Mercedeses and others, including Trabants (why?) and some small Japanese cars. No water for sale, but attendant can offer a cup of water. Despite a lot of ACs, it’s quite hot inside, so beware

Невероятный опыт и удивительное разнообразие автомобилей. Принадлежит родственнику Президента, богатейшему бизнесмену эмирата, филантропу и просто любителю старины. Я не слишком большой фанат ретро автомобилей, но и мне очень понравился этот музей. Большинство моделей находятся в первозданном виде, и на них приятно смотреть сблизи. Он расположен поодаль от города, однако оно стоит того. Роллс Ройс на которой ездила королева Британии в 1975 году, так же здесь!

A great museum for car lovers. Some unique cars here that I hadn't seen elsewhere (and I visit car museums in every country I visit). The massive jeeps are a real stand out, as is the World's largest 'caravan' (although I would have liked to have seen inside).
However... you cannot visit without your own car or driver (that is prepared to wait), as taxi services do not serve this attraction. We were forced to make the taxi driver wait for us (at an additional 100UAE for just under an hour: Not a lot - but worth factoring in.
Toilet facilities but no food / drink on site. We were just one of two parties of visitors this morning. Very quiet.
I hope this review helps others. A visit is highly recommended - but would have preferred to know that a driver staying was essential before we left our hotel.
The ticket cost was 50 UAE each; plus the taxi waiting time (100 UAE); plus the return taxi fare. Hope this is helpful to all.

Vast car collection where you can get up close and personal. Very few crowds and inexpensive admission. No food or drink is available. Bring your own.

Not just for petrol-heads. A fantastic collection around which you can just wander. We drove to the venue so not sure about getting there on public transport. Went Feb 2020 so unsure as to current visiting status

On arrival on 29-10-2020 found the gates closed and a big CLOSED sign. Few other cars pulled up and left. Previously had called the number, no answer but website showed open. On return checked website and now states Closed with the number being unobtainable.
I do not know if the museum has closed there's no info.

Good Collection but details about the cars were missing. 98% of the cars were in very good conditions. Novelty products were the 4 grand or giant vehicles. Few bad points, 1. Middle of nowhere. 2. Except cash only ... No Cards. 3. Few Visitors. Time can be spent depending on your interest.

Note: I called today, July 9, 2017, to see if the Auto Museum is open (055-749-2155). The gentleman on the other end said the museum is closed for maintenance currently and will be closed for one month. With this in mind, they will be closed until at least August 9, 2017. Definitely call ahead.

May I know how to get to the National Auto Museum from Abu Dhabi Central Bus Station?
I checked a website that bus X65 goes to this museum, wonder if this information is still valid.
Does anyone knows if the bus stop is walking distance to the museum?

Not advisable to go by bus to the Car Museum. Firstly because it is off the regular tourist route. Secondly when we visited last year I inquired about public transport buses, but it is tour operated service and not like a city bus service. It would be worthwhile to rent a car or hire a taxi. Taxis are not very expensive. The museum is a good 2 hours travel from the city.

50 durims . The only place you will find this out is as you enter. Not even posted on outside.!
Hard to spot entrance. Little old man collects money & puts it in a tin . Cash only.
It's worth it.
No where to eat, or buy snacks. Small outlet on site sells fruit drinks. Best to bring own water etc
Ask him if you can go out back after the inside , there the giant willy jeep is.
An eccentric , eclectic place , but worth the journey & price.
