Don’t bother

The woman working there was in a bad mood. Although there are a few good things here there were other items on display that she said were not for sale. Why display all this stuff and not sell it? I bought a couple of things but it is a tiny shop and no better than all the other free trade artisan shops.

I am very sorry that you couldn't buy some stuff you saw at the store. Sometimes we are packing orders for export that are already sold to others. Will correct this situations by checking that all inventory has price labels and not mixed with the export stuff.

Great to support local artisans
nov. 2017 • Venner
We read about Ayni and went searching for it so that we could buy some authentic gifts from Bolivia. As others have said, the quality is excellent and we love supporting locals. We agree that it is a tiny shop with a very limited range of merchandise but what is there, is delightful. Go for the fair trade ethos.

Never been so disappointed in tripadvisor

This place is just the gift shop for the adjoining Hostal La Posada. The reviews on here MUST be entirely commercial. Do not waste your time going to this place.

Oh, and the inventory is meager.

Hi. I think the post is related to other store. Ayni Bolivia is located next to Hotel Rosario. The store is a fair trade organization and have products made 100% in Bolivia by local artisans. You are welcome to come and learn more about the products and the artisans behind.

Worth a visit
I bought a jumper here and it was great as it was 100 % alpaca and it was fair trade too. Also I like the fact that there were not llama designs on the jumper which means I can wear it back at home .

Ayni - great Alpaca offers
jul. 2013 • Alene
Found the shop via tripadvisor! Altough the shop isn't the biggest one, the choice of Alpaca stuff is really good. Best: excellent quality and great prices! I had checked the whole day beore all the artesan shops in the artesan shop street and had as well checked in Cusco. Ayni offered the best and I almost emptied half their stock!
Last but certainly not least: fair trade!

CONOCI BOLIVIA Y ALGUNA DE SUS CIUDADES.
sep. 2012 • Par
PERO SE COME. llevar repelente. A VISITAR BOLIVIA TIENE SU ENCANTO

The best quality gifts ever !!! An absolute must in La Paz!
jul. 2011 • Alene
During each of my trips I'm always looking for a good quality gifts. I refuse to buy the mass produced chinese gadgets.
I've been travelling a lot in South America and at one moment I started to have a feeling that everywhere - from Venezuela, through Colombia to Uruguay you can find the same ceramic pots and figures... Therefore Ayni in La Paz was a real REVELATION for me. I have literally bought half of theeir stock :)
The quality of the products is spectacular and prices very reasonable - they are mostly handmade by the local bolivian artists / village communities and you see that this is a real fair trade business behind and not just words. The alpaca wool handmade blankets, wooden painted boxes, beautiful scarfs and hat/gloves sets for babies...everything I bought was very much appreciated by the people who got this nice little things.

I recommend Ayni to everyone who is looking for the highest quality and believes in the fair trade.
