This is a redeveloped stream / canal that has become a popular walking track, located in the middle of the bustling city. It is hugely popular with the Seoul inhabitants, as it offers a cool retreat from the days heat. There are buskers and other entertainers to see in the late afternoon. Very good.

is a 10.9-kilometre-long (6.8 mi) modern public recreation space in downtown Seoul, We Enjoyed walking in the massive urban path and see the stream especially at night because there are multicolour's lights. I think this street escapes from busy road, noise and time to relax.

Every visit to Seoul our accommodation is only a short walk away from Cheonggyecheon Stream, organised that way, we love this urbanised waterway promenade, to escape the busy roads for the picturesque waterway. For us, it is delightful at any time of the daylight and early evening, one of our favourite things to do in Seoul.

Bello sia di giorno per fornire un po' di riparo dal caldo sia di sera con le luci. In alcuni punti è possibile andare da un lato all'altro camminando su delle rocce

this is one place where you will really enjoy a relaxing stroll. It is over 10 Kms long and plenty of entry and exit points with walkways on both sides of the stream. Stepping stones and some bridges are in place for you to cross back and forth if you like.

This is the site of an actual stream which flows through the city. It was later covered by concrete to make way for roads and now re-introduced as part of the urban renewal plan for the city. With the city elevated from the stream and shielded from site, the stream becomes an exclusive area for one to fully enjoy nature in an urban setting. Sounds of stream flowing, sight of birds hunting, children running, adults enjoying each other company. This is indeed an amazing product which is well worth every cent spent! And the number of staircases which allows one to enter or exit is so well thought.

O atrativo desta região é o riacho de mesmo nome que no passado era extremamente poluído e que através de medidas impopulares como desapropriação de casas, despoluiu-se o mesmo e tornou-o um local verde para passeio e descanso dos habitantes e comerciantes da região.

Are there any hotel near Cheonggyecheon stream recommended for family of 2 adults and 2 children (8 and 9 year old) first time in Seoul?
Heard so much about the stream and would like to stay near it and enjoy walking back to hotel.

Stayed at Lotte City Hotel which was few blocks away from the stream (the end of it...). The stream is quite long so there are many choices hotel-wise, but like others said it's difficult to recommend without knowing budget. Lotte City Hotel worked out great because it's extremely close to metro, Myeongdong, and restaurants by the stream.
Is there any lantern festival on this November 25th? And is it best to go at night or day time? Thanks

Hi - I don't know about a lantern festival. The stream and walkways, including bridges and stepping stones, looks nice at night because of the lighting along the pathways.

I would like to know just how long it will take to finish the whole stream event? Are the lanterns laid out for the whole stream? Does it reach Dongdaemun too? Possible to continue shopping in Dongdaemun after that?

Hello,
Yes, it's a long fun walk. My son and I did a lot of walking but cannot tell you how long it took us to finish it because we weren't counting, Yes, you will reach this market and can do your shopping and eat too. However, it's better to go early because, by late afternoon, there will not be a big crowd. Have fun.
can we bring dosirak and eat around there?? while seating near the cheongyecheon stream perhaps?

I took Exit 5 of Jongak metro station. Walk down the road for a few minutes and you will reach the stream. Turn right to walk along the stream, best at night between 7 to 8 pm. You can walk down to the stream and you go under a stone bridge. The waterfall can be seen straight ahead. This is perhaps the best way to see the waterfall.
