Wir waren zu 100% mit allem zufrieden und glücklich! Ich buchte eine 5 Tage Safari ein Jahr im voraus und Wilfred war jederzeit für mich erreichbar um mir meine 1000 Fragen zu beantworten :-) . Wir konnten ganz individuell unsere Safari zusammenstellen. Uns wurde jeder Wunsch erfüllt. Vor Ort kam er zu uns ins Hotel, ein sehr Netter und ehrlicher Mann ( ich verstehe überhaupt nicht die negativen Kommentare). Unser Fahrer Godfried war SUPER!!! Nett,lustig und er hat wahnsinnig viel Wissen über die Tiere und Pflanzen. Ich kann mit guten Gewissen diese Safari Company weiterempfehlen.

Appalling company no communication, they ruined my holiday. Doc lied about having booked lodges for me. I had to involve the police in the end as he refused to give me my money back. I spoke to all the lodges before I left the UK to find that he had not even made communication with them, let alone made a booking for me. The only reason I checked with the lodges was because of the appalling reviews on Tripadvisor. Reviews where other customers had been left stranded in lodges and reserves being forced to pay again to leave as you had just taken their money and blamed other people. Appalling company no communication, they ruined my holiday. Doc lied about having booked lodges for me. I had to ultimately involve the police as he refused to give me my money back. Avoid this company at all costs...

After getting Doc's name from Kenya-advisor.com (which was an extremely helpful website) we exchanged a number of emails and decided to go on our 3 day 2 night safari to Tsavo West and Amboselli. In these emails we were offered a very reasonable price.
The night before we were set to leave we met Doc to go through the itinerary. During this meeting Doc said that it was now private and we should pay $150 more than the original price. We declined as we asked for a shared booking and agreed on a set price. During this meeting we agreed to pay half the fees then and half afterwards. Doc then left and we went on safari with our driver Nicky.
Half way through the safari Nicky told us he had not been given enough money by Doc for any more fuel or park fees. We were stuck. We tried to contact Doc but couldn't get through. We didn't have enough cash on us to pay the park fees. Daylight was slipping away and we were loosing time to experience the beautiful Amboseli Park. In the end I had to use my card to pay for the rest of the fees and fuel and it resulted in us paying way way over the original agreed price. My boyfriend and I have saved for a long time to afford this holiday and did not have the budget to pay excessive fees.
I'd highly recommend going with a more trustworthy and professional company than Doc at Kenyan Adventures and Beyond.

Nie mehr wieder!! Leider haben wir mit dem Inhaber Doc eine sehr negative Erfahrung in einem wunderbaren Land gemacht. Wir haben bei ihm eine Safari für 3-Tage in die Masai Mara gebucht und dabei 50% im voraus eingezahlt und der Rest mussten wir dann sofort nach Ankunft in Diani Beach in Cash bezahlen (~750$). Als wir dann ein paar Tage später im Hotel in der Massai Mara abreisen wollten, wurde uns mitgeteilt, dass seitens Doc keine Zahlung eingegangen sei und das wir die restlichen 750$ zu bezahlen hätten. Da das Hotel uns nicht gehen lies haben wir widerwillig bezahlt. Zurück in Diani tischte uns Doc lügen auf, dass er kein Geld beziehen könne, da die Bank geschlossen sei! Da er ein Freund von einem Freund in Diani war hatten wir falsches Vertrauen, dass wir das Geld wieder bekommen. Ich habe ihm mehr als ein Jahr Zeit gegeben um das Geld zu überweisen, leider ohne Erfolg!!

I am usually reluctant to give a poor review as sometimes circumstances arise that can make things difficult for tour operators, in this case though I have no qualms in writing this review on two companies that should quite frankly not be allowed to work in this industry. Below are the facts of what happened with our Safari, its long winded but I think it’s important to be accurate. The excuses and lies, the attempts to shift blame backwards and forwards were appalling. I don’t doubt the same excuses will be thrown up in response to my review.
We contacted Kenyan Adventures and Beyond (KABS) (owned by Doc Wilfred Omae) to organise our safari, we had used him 5 years ago, and things had gone pretty well. I paid Doc a 50% deposit several weeks before arriving in Kenya as requested so that he could secure and pay for all our accommodation. The remainder was to be paid on arrival in Kenya a few days before our safari started. Three days before the safari Doc sent Erick Muchai who introduced himself as our driver/guide for the safari to collect the remainder of our payment. Erick arrived with another man who he introduced as A###(not sure he was involved in this so will keep his name) . I paid Erick the balance in cash for the amount previously agreed, Erick had no means of giving a receipt so I had him hand write a receipt and he promised doc would send an official one (never received). Erick soon returned saying I was $50 short, on talking to Doc he told me he uses the KWS rate for exchange not the international rate, on this I did not agree but told him with a smooth safari I’d be happy to pay the $50 as a bonus.
On the day of our safari Erick arrived in a van again with A### . We were wondering whether we had a driver and guide or what, we loaded our gear and left our friends house. Around the corner about 500 meters from departure the van stopped at a Matatu stop and Erick got out of the Van and told us as he had a family emergency and could not take us on safari and that A### would be our driver(quite obviously Erick had no intention of being our guide, the first of many lies). As we had distance to make to our first park and afternoon game drive we decided to keep our questions till we got to the lodge. On arrival, I immediately sat down with the driver and asked him who Erick actually was, he produced a card for Tracks Berg Travel (owned by Erick Muchai) on asking the driver who he worked for he said Erick, clearly though the van had another companies name on it. It became apparent that Doc had subcontracted to Erick who had subcontracted to another company . The Driver had no idea of our program and had us returning a day earlier than what we had booked.
On the second night in Amboseli A### approached our dinner table with the news that the 2 nights’ accommodation had not been paid for, phone calls to Erick and Doc both came with assurances that it was sorted, when asked how it was sorted I continually got "don’t worry its sorted" over and over and was cut off several times, a complete loss of appetite and a sleepless night followed. As we were about to depart the lodge in the morning we were informed the accommodation bill still had not been paid. The lodge manager very kindly let us go and said he would pursue KABS for payment, at this time also A### informed us that he only had money for 1 more days’ park fees in Tsavo West. At this point we made the decision we would not dip into our pocket as we felt that we would never see that money again, and we would return to Nairobi if we had to and pursue the matter through the police.
Erick was blaming Doc for not sending money, Doc was blaming Erick for subcontracting further (I have the emails detailing all this). Erick also would not agree that as he had accepted the contract and a large pile of cash from us already that he was responsible for getting money from Doc and would not spend any of that money for our accommodation, neither taking any responsibility and blaming each other we had no way to turn, it reeked of a very well-orchestrated scam.
On arrival in Tsavo West I enquired if that accommodation there and the accom at Tsavo East had been paid for, I was told by lodge staff that it had been.
After leaving Tsavo west, the driver had no money for park fees so more phone calls were made and we waited in Voi for quite some time for money to come through to pay for our entry into Tsavo east. Eventually only enough money for 1 day’s entry not the 3 days came through. Each day the driver left the Park (thankfully the park left us in the lodge) and waited for money so that he could pay park fees.
After 3 nights in Tsavo East we went to leave the lodge at 9.15am for the drive back to Nairobi and were told we could not leave as 4 nights (tsavo east and west) had not been paid, on pointing out to the lodge manager that both lodges had assured me on enquiry that it had been paid I was told that parties involved had convinced them not to further upset the clients and that payment was forthcoming, also a further $120 US in Park fees was due at 11am. This was very clever in that it robbed us of 3 days in which to bring more pressure to bear on the operator and dumped us in a very stressful last morning situation where I believe we were expected to cave in and pay for our accommodation a second time just to get the hell out of the mess.
The lodge manager at this time whilst conferring with head office learned that KABS had done this previously and had still not paid that bill hence they had no choice but to hold the driver and us.
Thankfully during this entire process a very dear Kenyan friend in Nairobi had been battling for us on the phone for hours every day, cajoling and in the finish threatening police action to get money for park fees, (she was being lied to also about the accommodation). At 10.55am payment came through and we were allowed to leave. The final note was on the journey back I put petrol in the car as the driver claimed no money and that he had already been making up shortfalls all trip.
3 days prior to the finish of our safari Doc requested a meeting on return to Nairobi to explain the problems we were experiencing, I saw this as a delaying tactic to prevent us taking action and refused the meeting requesting only the remainder of the trip be trouble free, I was assured this would be the case, again another lie.
Erick also jumped up and down and said he would be reporting KABS to the tourist police but has not responded to our enquiry on how that complaint stands or to give us a reference that we can use in our own complaint, I believe confirming that these guys have worked this together before. Searches on the web since have revealed several very poor reports on their business practices.
Both Kenyan Adventures and Beyond safaris (based in Mombasa) and Tracks Berg Travel (based in Nairobi) should not be in business but will no doubt continue their dodgy ways, best I can do is tell people to avoid them like the plague or any business they may start or associate themselves with in the future.

Wir haben bei Doc gebucht und hatten eine wunderschöne Zeit in Kenia. Doc und James sind freundliche Menschen.Außerdem haben wir extra einen Jeep bekommen, obwohl wir nur einen Bus gebucht hatten. Unser Fahrer Alex war super! Er hat all unsere Fragen beantwortet und hat sein aller bestes gegeben unsere Safari so erlebnisreich wie möglich zu machen. Er hat ein echtes Adlerauge und war ständig in Kontakt mit anderen Fahrern, damit uns auch kein Löwe entgeht. Danke dafür!

Started our 8 days Safari on Aug 27,2016 in Nairobi. I paid in advance EUR 5.200 for 2 pax. Was to be in Masai Mara, Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Tarangire, Salt Lick and ending in Diani Beach where we would stay 5 nts (also paid for). 20 min after starting the trip “Doc Omae”called his partner for Nairobi (so he introduced himself while on the van) Mr. Erick Muchai and spoke with me on the cellphone telling me that he had had some trouble transferring money to Erick and asking me if I could pay Mr. Erick USD 700 he would reimburse me in ONCE In Diani Beach.There started the ripoff. All went according to plan in Masai Mara but went downhill afterwards. At the border with Tanzania we were transferred to our Tanzanian driver who requested from me USD 2.664 I was supposed to pay his company “Doc” told them. Doc’s phone was off and wouldn’t return my calls, the office phone ”did no t belong to a current customer “ as per phone company and so on.I had to negotiate with the operator a short tour to Serengeti and pay for it.I also had to pay the two nigts at Serengetti Sopa Lodge which supposedly Mr. Omae would pay.
To make a long story short: none of the hotels had been paid for by Mr. Omae and when he finally showed up he insisted that his Tanzanian operator had run away with the mony which was absolutely untrue since I was being driven and toured by this operator (the one who had asked the USD 2.664 from me and I negotiated the short tour).
Mr. Omae accomplished the shortening by more than one week of our vacation, the stress we suffered, the blood pressure of my wife and the complete frustration we feel. I was assited by the President of the Kenyan Safari Drivers Assoc. to put a strong complaint with the KenyanTourism Police and the Kenyan Ministry of Tourism.
To make a long story short: none of the hotels had been paid for by Mr. Omae and when he finally showed up he insisted that his Tanzanian operator had run away with the mony which was absolutely untrue since I was being driven and toured by this operator (the one who had asked the USD 2.664 from me and I negotiated the short tour).
Mr. Omae accomplished the shortening by more than one week of our vacation, the stress we suffered, the blood pressure of my wife and the complete frustration we feel. Once again "Doc" and James arranged another excellent Safari for us, sorted every request we put forward including certain rooms in certain lodges all turned out 100%, we / other family members and friends have used this company several times now and simply would not book with anyone else ( we did once and regretted it),very competitive prices / excellent guide-Drivers / and excellent communications whilst arranging our trip, these guys really do go the "extra mile" to ensure you enjoy your safari,
Take the strain out of your safari and make the itinerary a breeze and get in touch with these guys We thoroughly recommend them,

Am working in kenya we booked our safari with a local tour company. superbly organized 9 day trip to Kenya and a BIG thanks to Doc and team for making it a trip of a life time.
From my first email connect with Docway back in February, what stood out for me was the quickness of his response and loads of patience in answering numerous questions that I had. For me, these are two things which makes a prospective client very very comfortable with him. His responses were professional and to the point. He suggested a reasonably good itinerary for us and was willing to make changes as we went along. At that time, i was interacting with other travel companies in Kenya and his overall approach was what made us go with Kabs
Once the trip started, Sammy our driver/guide and now friend (!!!) was a superstar. He is very knowledgeable, has a brilliant temperament and is very easy to deal with. He always has a smile on his face and took a lot of efforts to make us feel at home.
The hotels we were booked into were all as per expected standards and Kabskept every promise made to us. I also felt that we were charged a fair price for the kind of services and levels of lodges used.

From my first email connect with Docway back in February, what stood out for me was the quickness of his response and loads of patience in answering numerous questions that I had. For me, these are two things which makes a prospective client very very comfortable with him. His responses were professional and to the point. He suggested a reasonably good itinerary for us and was willing to make changes as we went along. At that time, i was interacting with other travel companies in Kenya and his overall approach was what made us go with Kabs
Once the trip started, Sammy our driver/guide and now friend (!!!) was a superstar. He is very knowledgeable, has a brilliant temperament and is very easy to deal with. He always has a smile on his face and took a lot of efforts to make us feel at home.

Doc why are you not answering my emails and why have you told me my bookings at the lodges have been confirmed... when I have just had contact back from 2 of the 4 and they have NO booking for me!!!
