Anna’s store is worth hunting for. I needed some decent replacements while in Beijing for work and I found exactly what I needed. Simple lenses can be arranged while you wait. Varifocal (progressive) lenses were ready in 3 days and delivered to my hotel at no charge. Prices so good I didn’t bother negotiating.

Unfassbar. I bought three glasses upstairs from Anna. Since I need progressive lenses it took three days. When we came to pick up, my husband bought two glasses that were ready within 20 minutes. Anna speaks perfect English and could and thus betrayed very well.
We will definitely come back.

Anna in shop 8CC on the third floor is utterly brilliant. She was so thorough and patient and professional. I’m embarrassed to say that my husband and I got 7 pairs of verifocals between us. After being so pleased with how fantastic my first pairs were I quickly went back to get more pairs before coming home. I have never seen so well and her frames are stylish and good quality. Easy to get to. Either by taxi or the very easy to use metro.

Glasses City use to be my favorite place to visit when I lived in Beijing. 15 years later, it’s still an amazing place to shop if you love glasses. There are so many choices. I went to Anna Optical Glasses CC8 on level 3 this time around for new frames and it was an excellent experience.
Anna ( I hope that’s the young lady’s name!) speaks English which is very helpful when trying to describe the type of lenses I needed. There’s a good variety of frames - from geeky round tortoise shell to stylish cat eye and super lightweight frameless glasses, there’s something for every face shape. There’s also a good selection of sunglasses.
Anna tested my vision and compared the results against and old pair pf glasses I had on hand. I needed an updated set of progressive lenses which couldn’t be made in time as I was leaving the city the next day. She had them shipped to me back home and they arrived in perfect condition in under a week ( I live in Asia) .
I’ve been wearing the sunnies for runs and they are great. The reading glasses are also working out well at work. Would absolutely recommend!

Buying new glasses doesn’t seem to be the first activity in Beijing you think about when doing a trip to china, but you definitely should!
We went to glasses city after reading about Anna’s Glasses at stall CC08. Anna already spotted us when came down the hall and greeted us as if she were waiting for us. Basically if you are a foreigner at Glasses City everybody already knows that you are heading to Anna’s shop.
That is for a good reason: Anna speaks English perfectly, is very helpful when it comes to choosing Frames and allows you to take your time while choosing. My wife knew that her prescription wasn’t correct anymore and Anna made an eye test with her free of charge. If you don’t know the specifics of your prescription anymore Anna can check your current glasses with a device and get all the necessary information from that.
Of course that alone doesn’t explain why you should spent valuable time of your china trip buying glasses. There are several reasons:
1. Obviously Price: 6 pairs of glasses with thin lenses had cost me as much as a single pair at home. You can do some bargaining (we did), but if you don’t feel comfortable with it, it isn’t strictly necessary as the price that Anna gives is already very fair.
2. Speed: The 6 glasses my wife and I had ordered were done in two hours. Last time I had a pair made in Germany I had to wait 3 days before I could pick them up. We went and made some light shopping and had lunch nearby and when we were done the glasses were done as well. Obviously if you only need a single pair you can wait at the stall as it will be done in 20-30 minutes. The shop is open till 6pm so you could also choose your frames, go sightseeing and return in the evening and pick up your glasses.
3. Quality: You might think all this is at the cost of quality, but it is not. Of course I don’t have the long term perspective yet, but after one week the pairs I bought at Anna’s stall are some of the best I ever had.

Update April 2024:
CC8 Anna Glasses is still the best option for all your spectacle requirements.
# Directions: When you reach Jinsong Glasses City (Bejing Glasses City/Mall), take the escalators to Level C (Level 3). Turn left towards the "CC" section and look for the shop, "CC8 Anna Glasses".
# When you enter the Mall you'll see all types of fancy shops but resist the temptation to walk into any of them. The prices are usually marked up and it's unlikely you'll get the same service that you get from Anna's shop.
# Why am I writing this review - Just before visiting Beijing, I had progressive lenses made by an optician from my home city. Anna offered me to do a pair of progressives based on my prescription, with better hyperopia visibility and transition option, and overall better grade Essilors for a bit lower than what I paid back home. Anna also delivered the specs to my hotel, within 3 business days, a day earlier than initially committed.
# There's a bit of room for negotiation, however, the starting price itself was very reasonable to me and because of the honest and friendly service, I decided not to haggle beyond what I felt was reasonable.
Thank you Anna and her husband for your wonderful service and I hope more customers will read this and other reviews, and visit your shop. All the best!

I followed the reviews here that mention Anna's shop on the third floor, stall CC08. I had a pair of glasses with lenses that were extremely scratched. Anna greeted me warmly, and she spoke very good English. She said she could replace my lenses for 100 Yuan ($14 USD). I had another pair of glasses with broken frames, though the lenses were quite good. Anna told me I could replace the scratched lenses in my good frames with the clear lenses from the broken frames. Great! Not only did she replace the lenses, she didn't charge me a penny! "Are you sure?" I asked in disbelief. "Yes," she smiled. She also provided me a free exam for progressive lenses. I found a pair of handmade Italian frames designed in Berlin for 300 Yuan ($42 USD), and the progressive lenses with transitional tinting were 350 Yuan ($50). A pair of progressive, transitional glasses in designer frames for under $100 USD!?!? Unheard of. Great shop. Great services. Low prices. I'll be back.

Anna did an eye test first and told me my eyesight got a little worse since last time. She tried different lenses to check which one suit me the best, she's not pushy to sell but will give options. I tried on many different kinds of glasses and finally settled on a very safe neutral pair haha. She said if any problems just text her. I totally recommend Annas expertise!

Anna at CC08 is amazing! Take the escalators up, go to the left side, and she's in the first row by the windows. Make sure you go to the left of the elevators, the right side is the C side, left is the CC side. She speaks good English and has a great selection. You can either get your eyes tested at her shop or bring your prescription there. She gives discounts for buying multiple, and you can bargain. Frames were 230 RMB each, lens cost vary depeding if you want high index or not. I paid 350 RMB for a pair of frames and regular lens and 530 RMB for frames and 1.74 high index lenses. You can also bring in old frames and get new lens from her. I brought in a pair of Ray-Ban aviators with an old prescription and she was able to make mirror lens for them on the spot. She also has different lens options you can chose from if you make sunglasses. Highly recommend!
