We spent the weekend nearby and had to come and see this library that I had read about and the headline was: Most Instagram friendly Library... they only let 30 people ish inside at the time. I guess we had to stand in line for 40 min to get a peak of the inside. The library is stunning on the inside and outside. Definitely worth a trip.

Liyuan library is about 80 km north from Beijing downtown. My family visited the library in a weekend tripe.
As one living in the crowded urban area, I was attracted by the idea that there is a library in the rural valley, as its Chinese name is Liyuan ShuWu(book house), sounds like a traditional school.
We rode in the mountains and finally pull over at a small village. Walked through the village and at the end of the road, we saw a very special building, that's Liyuan library.
The building is besides a pond. It is hundreds meters from the village and has no power supply. The library is illuminated by nature light and is open 1:00pm ~ 5:00pm.
We arrived at nearly 5:00pm and it's impossible to have a serious reading. The administrator(looks like a local peasant) admitted us a free visiting of the library, while normally it costs five Yuan.
Before entered into the library, we had to take off the socks. The internal of the library was built with wood. The roof and the wall are glass in steel frames, so in the library it's quite bright.
I just had a glance at the books. Most of them are in Chinese and very few of then are in English.
Anyway, it's a nice place to have a look of the modern rural life.

Is this place open on weekdays? Also I heard if you bring some books you can take home one book free.
