Jiangning Weaving Mansion covers an area of 18,700 square meters, with a construction area of 35,600 square meters. There are four floors on the ground, including Xichi, Lianting, Xuanruitang, Fenglaiyi and other garden buildings. There are Jiangning Weaving Mansion, Cao Xueqin Memorial Hall, HongLou Dream Literature and History Museum and YunBam Museum on the two floors underground.
The overall architecture of the museum is in the style of Jiangnan garden. From the south to the north, the building is stacked high, like a landscape painting. In the mansion, north, east, west three sides are not seen modern high-rise.
From the outside around a week to see, Jiangning Weaving House is a modern museum, curtain wall in the middle, protruding two ancient pavilions of the eaves, push the door and enter, the south side is a quiet and elegant Jiangnan garden, the north side is a bustling building. On the north side of the garden of Jiangning Weaving House, there are four layers of pavilions, platforms and pavilions stacked one after another, blocking the surrounding buildings without any trace of modern urban architecture.
In addition to restoring the original appearance, more details will reflect the essence of A Dream of Red Mansions. For example, a stalagagus is designed at the exit of the sinking square, which means "green ridge peak" at the beginning of the novel. The contents of couplets and steles seen by tourists when they stroll through pavilions, terraces, pavilions and pavilions are from the original work and hand-written by contemporary famous Red scholars.
Jiangning Weaving Museum.Through the glass door, you can see the pavilion with pavilions, Bridges, corridors and waterside pavilions. From the garden in the south of the museum to the north, you can see a total of four storeys of buildings in the west, intersecting with the "neem pavilion", "xuanrui hall", "stage" and "you feng lai museum" four representative buildings. The highest building is the northwest corner of the "Neang Pavilion", it is the whole "Jiangning Weaving House" landmark building, located in the overall building of the highest, more than 20 meters high.
The museum will be renamed from the original "Jiangning Weaving Museum" to "Jiangning Weaving Museum". Archaeological evidence shows that the museum is located in Jiangning Weaving Bureau, rather than the weaving office or weaving department, so it took a broader name.

Cant remember anything worth commenting on about this Museum, yes you see the history in pictures etc but thats about it. I think its just a random museum that nobody visits anymore unless your a textile major.

This used to a place of tremendous glory and wealth. Big fans of the Dream of the Red Chamber should pay a visit to understand the background of the eternal literary classic.

30yuan to visit, 15¥ concession. 3 floors of exhibits. The top floor has the history of the cheongsam, in English! Just about the only English in the place. It sits on top of the station Daxingong. Stunning gardens and 3 gift shops. Very complimentary to the Cloud Brocade Museum and the silk display in the Nanjing City Museum. Thrilled with Western toilet tucked away next to the Cheongsam shop.

we found the prices here were beyond out budget. The silk was absolutely beautiful, but compared to the prices at various wholesale markets we seen, it was on the high end of the scale. i would still go check it out, but i would save my money and buy my silk souvenieres some place other than at this venue.
