This is absolutely not recommended. You start your visit with a guided tour through the crocodile part of the park where the first explanation is about the skeleton of a 5 meter long crocodile that once attacked a fisherman. For this reason he was captured, killed and placed as a trophy. Crazy, huh? That a predator attacks someone in its own habitat? The tour continues to the 'hatchling farm' where there are crocodiles between 1 and 3 years old. Sometimes there are 10 to 15 of them in a kind of bathtub where they cannot swim and can barely move. The story is that these are being released again, but in the same sentence it is also said that they could be used to sell their leather. They just say they don't have a permit for this... During the last part of the guided tour you will visit the older crocodiles, the largest of which is 8 meters. This is in a cage perhaps 10-11 meters long and about 5 meters wide. They were also very clear about this that these will never be released again.

After this you can further explore the rest of the 'shelter' yourself. This consists of snakes in a small concrete cage with only a branch on which they can lie, 2 birds of prey in a dark cage with only 2 branches on which they sit quietly, and a raccoon sitting alone in a cage where it cannot can move a lot.

In short, it is absolutely not worth your time, energy and money to go here. We both walked away with a very bad feeling. Do not!

Whether you are a reptile lover or not, you'll surely find a visit to this place interesting and educational. You'll learn a lot about reptiles, particularly about crocs and gators ... their habitat, life cycle, behavior, food, etc. The visit is guided by qualified staff. There are other animals to see. You can even have some photos taken with some of them. The place is not very far from Puerto Princesa. There's an ample parking lot in case you want to bring your own car. Entrance fee is minimum.

It is quite a few years since our last visit but we had guests here from Manila so we paid another visit. The tour was the same but the souvenir and snack stands were all gone, and the toilet facilities were in a very poor condition. Tours were every 15 minutes and very informative, well worth the entrance fee.

I'm just sad to see that the animals are not being looked after very well. The surrounding are not inviting. The animal enclosures are dirty and dark. There is no information about the animals and there is also no signage of directions. We were just guessing the walkways.

I was quite upset with this tour for the following reasons:

1. They tell us that stress shortens the lifespan of the crocodiles, yet they allow the tourists to handle young crocodiles with taped snouts (which is their cooling mechanism) for photo opportunities. One tourist even dropped a juvenile crocodile during our trip. Can they just change their fund raising activity into one that won't disturb the crocodiles such as scheduled feeding or night time viewing (since crocodiles are nocturnal).

2. They showed us the hatchery which housed crocodiles up to five years old. Then they told us that the three to five year old crocodiles get sent to other farms for commercial purposes (eg. to make bags). When I saw how small a five year old juvenile was, I can't help but think of how many crocodile lives they take to make unnecessary luxuries for humans.

Good points of our trip:

1. Educational, guided tours available every 15 minutes from 8:30 to 11:45 am and 12:00 pm to 17:30 pm

2. Crocodiles are kept in clean enclosures and appear to be well-fed

3. Entrance fee is very cheap at 40 PHP (0.80 USD) per adult, and even cheaper for senior citizens and children

It was a short tour where the guide give a 10-15mins tour, from the baby crocodile to largest crocodile in the center. The highlight is the end of the tour where you get to take photos with a baby crocodile with 60p (or more since it's for donation)

I stopped in here today on the city tour. It was quite interesting and the guide was nice with a cool dog following her around. It's cheap and you can see many baby crocodiles and large ones. Also there is a photo opportunity with a baby croc at the end for 60 pesos and some other cool animals to look at.
