We always enjoy a trip to the science centre. Unfortunately they have removed the option to buy tickets in person and you are required to buy online with a credit card. I hate arriving somewhere with excitement then spending the first 5 minutes looking at my phone. Also, you are required to share your phone number, email and nationality when you purchase tickets.

It was exciting to watch the fire tornado, and we loved the revamped optical illusions. But some new exhibits relied heavily on reading notices, rather than showing us science in action. A few areas are looking a bit old, and would benefit from a revamp.
Buy tickets online, they had problems when we tried to pay at the door.
Coffee Bee was very disappointing, food just didn’t have much flavour.
Disabled access is excellent, and as always in Singapore toilets were very clean.
If you can’t use escalators, access to the lift at Jurong East station is a mess during improvements (which will take some months), quite a long walk and signing is not clear. It might be wise to find an alternative route.
Do visit the Butterflies up close – the additional charge is well worth it. They have lots of different species of butterflies, and some very informative information about them.
An enjoyable day, but they do need to keep on making sure it’s exciting to visit.

A wonderful, interactive centre with interesting child friendly, hands on displays. Different rooms permitted the children to learn and experience life under the sea, in space and understand phobias (whilst getting a little scared in a room of 'scares').
Our children particularly enjoyed the butterfly room, where numerous butterflies fly around and interact with the beautiful horticulture.
Our visit was during the week and it was very quiet, this also meant the advertised showd were not available. Sadly, due to the rain the children were unable to use the fantastic wet play area, but were we to return, we'd make this a priority. Highly recommend.

1. Omni Theatre
Hands-down, this has been the highlight of Science Centre for years. Walking into the giant dome-shaped theatre itself made our kids go "wooooow" for a good few minutes. A surround-sound, surround-screen show about dinosaurs made them totally awestruck. You can check movie timings (and several films to choose from) and book tickets days ahead, or just purchase them at the front counter.

2. Exhibits, especially the Mirror Maze
Yes, the exhibits look a little worn and some not functioning well, but most of them were still really cool and interactive, giving parents many opportunities to have a ball of a time to both teach and play with your kids. The highlight show, the giant Tesla coil show in the center of the centre, seemed to be under maintenance.

3. Free Outdoor Water Play
You won't find a nerdier and more educational water playground than this. Really. Teaching about water volumes, waves, flow, etc all while splashing silly in water.

4. KidsStop
You'll be nuts if you came all the way to this part of Singapore and NOT visit this cheapest paid playground ($10 no time limit) in Singapore. And it's a pretty awesome one at 3000sqm. Go check it out online by yourself. Socks rules apply.

***5. Outdoor cafe (Bonus: a life-size T-rex skeleton and then some)
The outdoor cafe's entrance a bit hidden, kinda right opposite the toilets and electric chair, mainly local fare and slightly overpriced but well, it's the only cafe there after McDonald's closed. What most people didn't know, this outdoor area is the "lobby" to special one-off exhibitions. There's a life-size T-rex skeleton, life-size Hulk and some Avengers and other cool stuff from old one-off paid exhibitions that looked a little abandoned here, but still cool!!!

Bonus bonus: Buy really cool science-y nerdy stuff at the Gift Shop!!

Great place including kinetic play area in the garden was fun which was free. The mirror maze was the Highlight and so much for the kids to learn if you take the time. Cafe was a bit strange.. we wanted a coffee but the queue was outside this fence.. not sure how to get to it so we gave up.
Some of the exhibits still were out of action due to covid but so many fun interactive things were still available. Very cool place but a long walk from the MRT in the heat.

The rules pertaining to Butterflies Up Close need to be clear and consistent. While we are aware we are not to touch the butterflies, the staff manning the enclosure told our 7-year old that while she may not hold the butterflies by the wings, she is allowed to let the butterflies land or climb onto her hand.

Subsequently, she was chided for doing this “too many times” without explaining how many is too many and why the change in rules.

This is not acceptable to me and confusing to a child this age. Perhaps the Science Centre can clarify this.

One of the lesser known attractions of Singapore. But it has been around for many years. The exterior of the place is also starting to show its age. It’s a bit out of the way by public transport, and don’t expect to have much choice for meal or break as there is only 1 main cafe with limited sitting capacity.

Despite all these shortcoming, it is a good place to explore and exposure young children to all things science. The best thing about the place is that almost all the exhibits allow participants to interact with it. So it is really fun for both kids and even adults. There are plenty of informative information provided for each exhibit making it a truly learning experience.

There are also side activities planned at different halls which was great as its a good way to engage and encourage learning and developing kids interest to science.

Another well deserved thumbs up is the availability of seats strategically placed for adults and parents to rest themselves at the different halls. These came in very handy as one can sit and keep watch while the young one freely explore the hall and play.

Apart from the place requiring some upgrades, the other downside would probably be that some of the event halls are not fully open or has limited items on display. Perhaps it would have been better to just consolidate and rotate the operations of the halls and focus on different theme of each season instead of giving the impression that the place lacks maintenance.

Also not sure why there has to be a restriction to the visiting hours. The place is quite big and both kids and adults could easily be kept occupied for the entire day. Was quite disappointed to know that morning tickets holders have to leave the place by 1pm, don’t recall having such restrictions in the pass.

Wish the place well, as it is amazing that the place continues to keep itself relevant all these years for the different generations of visitors with the inclusion of new and interesting items. Hope to be back again.

Last time I visited this place in my childhood. That time there was lots of interesting things. Still can remember that dummy Einstein was giving lectures.. There was one real chopper can rotate the rare fan. Full flight experience of Singapore Airlines. Now a days they have improved, its true. Lots of things can be enjoyed. Finally it's a nice place to learn with enjoyment.

I called the Singapore Science Centre's Customer Service Number to confirm the prices for my Family (Dependent and Employment Pass Holders).

The lady that answered the phone must of been upset / angry that she was required to work on New Year's Eve as she was incredibly unfriendly.

This place does not recognise EP, S-Pass or Dependant Pass Holder's meaning we are required to pay "tourist" prices. Perhaps the only attraction in Singapore that does this.

Avoid if you are a EP, S-Pass or Dependant Pass Holder.
