Sol and her gang were there for us every step of the way! They were easily reachable by text or phone if necessary. Our itinerary was meticulously planned and the rides were punctual as were our guides. All of our guides were knowledgable, so we were able to learn about Peru and experience its beauty at the same time.

Machu Travel Peru delivered! We had a great tour. The staff were knowledgeable, friendly and nice. The planning and communication were very good. The hotels we were assigned were clean and quiet. The airport and hotel pick ups were on time. We had enough time at each site and never felt rushed. This tour was well planned and reasonable. Thank you to Flor, Sol, Fernando, Juana, Eric, Rene, Sergio and Will. Thank you for taking care of us and for giving us an amazing memories. You guys rocks👍 My friend and I highly recommend Machu Travel Peru👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Had a very well organised and wonderful trip. The team is really best at what they do. Very professional and punctual. Thanks to Sol and her excellent team, all arrangements - the stays, transfers, food and sightseeing were spot on. All guides were knowledgeable and helpful. I am glad I chose them for my first solo trip...the transformation from being nervous at start to being carefree and enjoying the moment was quick as they really exceeded my expectations. Hats off to the team. Lovely experience!

Amazing trip. Very well coordinated. We visited Lima, Cusco, sacred valley, rainbow mountain, Machu pichho, Amazon rainforest in a 10 day period. It could not have happened without the help of Machu Travel Peru team. They programmed the whole trip and everything was perfect. They were very responsive and answered all our questions very quick

Our guide Juan Vargas, with Machu Travel Peru, impressed us greatly with his professionalism, insightfulness, and his scientific knowledge of the Andean culture. He exceeded our expectations and more importantly, he was very friendly and FUN! Felt like we were with family! My partner and I were well informed and very well taken care of for our entire stay. We had 5 days and 6 nights into the Sacred Valley, up to Macchu Picchu, and back to Cusco. We never felt unsafe or ignored. Communication and hospitality is at a luxury level with Juan. We will be requesting him and our driver Elvis for any future travels in Peru! Thank you guys!!!

This was the most organized, professional and friendly company to use for our 2 weeks in Peru. From being picked up by Luis at the Lima airport to being dropped off at the Cusco airport by Will, all of our drivers were excellent. They were prompt, kept the cars clean and drove safely. The guides assigned to us were amazing! Big shout out to Jorge for our Arequipa/Colca Canyon trip. He took us to places that were not the typical tourist traps and his knowledge of the area enabled us to see things other people missed. I think he texted the condors in the canyon and told them we were there, because we saw a number of them when we stepped out of the car! Our visit to Puno and Lake Titicaca were made very special by Percy's informative talks about Uros and Taquile islands. Meeting the residents of the islands was amazing. Marita, our guide on the bus from Puno to Cusco is a natural born educator and entertainer who kept us enthralled with her knowledge and passion. Finally, our time spent with Kevin in Cusco, the Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu and Palccoyo's rainbow mountains was the icing on the cake. My husband and I were taken with his professionalism, charm and knowledge from the first meeting. His enthusiasm for the Incan culture and the Cusco area was palpable. His patience and concern for our well-being during the rugged hike up Huayna Picchu was truly appreciated. We will remember everyone fondly for our remarkable trip! Flor Maria who helped us decide on what to do and see, and Sol who made sure everything was executed properly were very easy to work with...always answering calls or texts promptly. We would definitely recommend family and friends to Machu Travel Peru if they were thinking about a trip to Peru...they were wonderful!

I had a wonderful experience in Peru thanks to the truly professional and knowledgeable staff at Machu Travel. From the creation of my 9 day itinerary with Flor, though the day to day contact with my travel coordinator, Sol and the personal interaction with all the tour guides along the journey made this trip exceptional and memorable.
I need to add that there were hiccups along the way because of my own faults that truly tested Sol and her team's ability to get things done. (I don't wish any of these examples on anyone) First, I forgot my cellphone in the transport from the Cusco airport to my hotel. Sol was able to make sure my phone got it back in just minutes. Second, I suffered altitude sickness during my first day in Cusco to the point I wasn't sure if I could do the excursion scheduled for day 2. Sol coached me through the pain and suggested coca tea and getting some oxygen. Her advice saved the trip for me as I gained more time to acclimatize. Third and most importantly, I left a jacket with my wallet on the tour bus after I was dropped off to catch a train to Machu Picchu. I didn't realize my jacket was missing until 20 minutes later while I was waiting for the train to pull into the station. Thanks to Sol and my awesome guide that day, Carlos, I was able to get my jacket and wallet just minutes before the train departed. (This story is much more exciting than I need to share, but the point is the Machu Travel Team went beyond expectations and delivered to make sure my travels went on smoothly).
All my guides were great, but in particular, Carlos for the Sacred Valley and Ollantaytambo, Sergio for Machu Picchu, Julio for the bus tour from Cusco to Puno and Percy in Puno and Lake Titicaca were outstanding.
I could continue on, but in short I highly recommend the Machu Travel team if you are considering Peru as a future travel destination. Thank you Sol and all the guides! Til we meet again...

Excellent overall experience. Our guides and drivers were highly professional, always on time, and very knowledgeable. Great passion for sharing their culture, and totally focused on making sure we had a safe and enjoyable experience! They customize your trip for you. My sole point of feedback is that they should structure the travel to step up in altitude when you arrive. We actually went from sea-level to over 12k feet on the first day, which was tough. That said, we would definitely recommend this agency and their guides. Totally worth it, and they made our trip to Peru very worthwhile!

How far in advance should I buy entrance ticket for Machu Picchu?

yes, I would agree that 4-6 months in advance if possible because of the limitation on visitors per day. I did buy the two day entrance just in case of rain or visibility as I have heard some visitors go in for the day and are unable to really see anything. My recommendation would be to stay in the town of Aquas Calientes for two nights and be in the bus line up around 5.15am to see the sunrise up Machu Picchu. You are then able to enjoy the morning before the crowds arrive by train from Cusco. We had great weather so spent a whole day up the mountain and even climbed the extra 921 feet up tot he Sun Gate. took us 3 hours, longer than most but we are both in our mid sixties.

Hola, tendran algunas opciones de tour de un Dia saliendo de Cusco ? voy en Abril del 2017, somos 2 adultos y 3 niños. Necesito algo no tan cansado, ni tan lejos de Cusco, lo más recomendable.
También si tienes opcion de guia para Machupichu saliendo de Aguascalientes

Hello. If I do the day tour from Cusco to Machu Picchu by train, will I have enough time to get up to the sun gate? It says after the guided tour there is some free time to walk around on your own but it doesn't not say how long. I believe it's about a 45 min trek Upto the sun gate. And then back of course.
Has anyone done this or similar tour?

Our travel agent recommended that we stay overnight at Aguas Calientes so we could be at Machu Picchu before 8 am. So, if you will be coming from Cusco that could mean that you might not have enough time to go around MP (The train ride takes about 3.5 hours from Cusco), and MP closes at around 5:30pm. Anyway, if you get there early, you might have enough time to go to the Sun Gate cause the guided tour lasts around 3 hours and our guide told us that from the base of Machu Picchu up to the Sun Gate is more or less 2 hours hike.
