Amazing 4 days Trek around the Ausagnate area
okt. 2021
Our Ausangte trek 4 days was amazing, We did it with Local Trekkers Peru at the beginning of October of this year, luckily we had a very good weather the 4 days of trekking. Raúl was an excellent guide, very experienced in this trek, he was always encouraging us in the most difficult parts. This is one of the hardest hikes in the Cusco region, since you always walk over 4000 meters of altitude, but with Raul we never felt insecure, he always asked us how we were or how our physical condition was and he never rushed us, he always walked at our own pace. besides knowing a lot about the area, the culture, the landscapes and the ecosystems. he is a walking librar. The food was very good, you have to eat very well especially when you expend a lot of energy, fortunately we had Aurelio our Cook or better known as the Andean master chef, the dishes he prepared had the perfect balance of protein and carbohydrates, in addition to presenting them with very beautiful decorations, the food was plentiful, enough for everyone in the group. Some dishes we tried were the best we tried during our stay in Cusco. Bravo Aurelio, applause for you. Finally, we would like to thank our muleteer who with his horses, helped to move the things and the camping equipment from one place to another, without him this adventure would not have been possible, since to do this trek you have to carry a lot of logistics such as food, camping equipments, by the way were all of great quality. For all this if someone is looking to do the Ausangate Trek and does not know how to do it or with which company to go and above all wants to feel safe all the time, do it with Local Trekkers Peru, with them you will have the perfect balance of safety, professionalism and fun.

Amazing Ausangate + Rainbow Mountain trek in 4 days
sep. 2021 • Par
The Ausangate trek is absolutely mind blowing. The landscapes are breathtaking, with glaciers, lakes and red colored mountains. We did it in 4 days with a detour to the rainbow mountain and red valley (super worth it!!) with Hernan Quespe and his son Adrien. They were very professional and dedicated. They know the trails extremely well and we got to spend the first night on Hernan’s property as he lives Tinki. The meals were delicious, Hernan even made us pancakes at 4am one morning !
Careful: if you want to do the ausangate loop and rainbow mountain in 4 days, you will have big hiking days (~8 hours at a decent pace)

3 Nights in Ausengate
jul. 2021
We absolutely loved our stay in Ausengate. When we saw the beautiful mountain range, we knew we had to see it. However, almost all tours required a 4 am wakeup call and traveling in a car 7 hours in one day. We wanted a more relaxed tour and went with a company called Cusco Adventure Transtours who tailor made an itinerary to fit our needs. We left from Cusco and drove to Rainbow Mountain the first day, and then drove the rest of the way to Ausengate. Cusco Adventures Transtours set us up to do a Homestay with a local family including meals so we could have an authentic peruvian experience. We loved it. We opted to do a rest day, day 2 and go to the local Hot springs, and then hiked the 7 Lagoons our 3rd day. Absolutely breathtaking scenery. We also opted to take 2 horses for the 6 of us in case our young kids (or us adults) needed breaks, and to hold our backpacks! Our guide Adner arranged for that as well for $15 per horse and guide for the whole day! We loved our time in Ausengate and Cusco Adventures Transtours!

Aunsangate Trek to Rainbow Mountain with a reliable Company
okt. 2019 • Venner
When my friends and i arrived in Cusco Alberto The Manager of Local Trekkers Peru was waiting for us at the airport to take us to our hotel. The booking process with him was very simple, he quickly answered all our questions. Just imagine that we were 3 women over 40 years old, surely we had a lot of questions before deciding to make this challenging trek. We acclimated for 3 days in Cusco. The day before our Trek we had a briefing with our guide, Raul, he visited us at our hotel and explained us all about the trek, we did the Ausangate Trek 6D/5N ending at the Rainbow Mountain after his detailed explanation, we knew what to expect and what to bring. Something we advise is, that do it in the dry season, since we had some rainy days, but we still enjoyed it very much and the views and landscapes on the Ausangate circuit have no comparison.
During the Trek, everything happened as expected. We did not have any surprises or unfortunate events happen. I was the slowest of the 4 of us but we managed to continue together. Our guide Raul was very helpful, he was always asking us about our well-being, if we needed anything and if we felt good, we loved the special care Raul gave us throughout the hike. In addition, the explanations he gave us of each place or of everything we saw were of great deep and cultural content. We can say for sure that he is a professional and very experienced guide and above all that he loves what he does. We learned a lof with him, If you have the opportunity, ask for him as your Ausangate trek guide.
During the 6 days, we also had our own cookman “Timoteo” who cooked amazing, delicious food for us. His fried rice is tops! I have a very sensitive stomach so not getting sick is a good sign of hygiene and cleanliness. Even Timoteo made a good cake and presented us at the table at the 5th day dinner, it was like a goodbye and gratefulness, for choosing to travel with Local Trekkers. We were never hungry with Timoteo. Gracias amigo.
Finally, I don't want to finish my comment, without first thanking a very quiet and even a little shy person (Rogelio) our horseman. who was very helpful, with our stuff, we only walked with our daypack, since Rogelio with his horses transported all the camping, cooking stuff and our personal stuff from one campsite to another. Without this guy this trek would not have been posible.

So. I would not hesitate to recommend Local Trekkers Peru for people who will do the Ausangate Trek, whatever the duration, they will provide you with a first class service.

Great Local Guides
mar. 2020
My husband and I trekked the standard Ausangate Circuit in August 2019. We are experienced backpackers/travelers but chose to go with very affordable locals to minimize the amount of gear/planning we had to add to our Peru trip and to support the local Quechuan economies. The larger agencies are increasingly expensive and we did not want to travel with others in our group. We were guided by Hernan Quispe Crispan, a local Tinki villager, and his younger assistant Valerio Huanca Layme. We were very pleased with our trip. We hiked the normal six day circuit (including Rainbow Mountain) in four days without an issue though we are in fairly good shape. Valerio has since started his own porter-guide operation on a slightly shorter but similar circuit that always includes Rainbow Mountain and Red Valley and some other ruins. Both routes are excellent. Both locals are experienced and know the mountains well. They provided delicious cooked food, taxi transportation from Cusco, and pack animals to carry your gear. These are both locals without medical training who only speak Quechua and secondary Spanish however they are flexible, know the mountains well and help ease the complications that can arise when buying food, booking a transportation to the mountain and navigating the mountain/campsite fees for you or your small group at a cost MUCH lower than the larger outfitters. My husband speaks limited Spanish and we were able to communicate fine with that and some Google Translate. Highly recommend both of them! Given their limited technology experience they've each had assistance creating their own websites and you should find those sites with a quick google search of their name.

Wonderful views along the way
feb. 2020
A few months ago my friends and I made travel plans and one of the destinations I chose was the Ausangate snowfall, it was a great decision as a good trip, I keep good memories of that trip with my friends, because we were captivated by so much Flora and fauna.
We made our way through mountains, lush landscapes and colorful lakes, everything was great, we also met new friends who also hired the same travel agency: 'Bioandean Expeditions' That by the way I handle the best this trip with professional guides, we finish with our backpacks loaded with new experiences and anecdotes.

The best trip of my life
feb. 2020
Ausangate is undoubtedly one of our favorites, hiking, the incredible colorful landscape, glaciers, lakes and mountains, waterfalls, there are no people, just alpacas around. The hike can be difficult due to its altitude, 4000 m, which needs adequate acclimatization. We did it with the agency Bioandean Expeditions, with a guide and Porters and I enjoyed it very much. Sometimes the walk can be a bit difficult. I would definitely recommend this agency to other travelers!
One of the best tour we did with my husband in Cusco. We booked our tour through the website of the travel agency Bioandean Expeditions, they went to search at 4:30 in the morning to start the adventure. The tour arrives in the first instance to mollepata where you enjoy a rich breakfast and when you return from lunch. After eating and after an hour you arrive at Soraypampa where you can see a walk of about an hour and a half; If you don't feel capable of 70 soles, you ride a horse or mule.
The rise and the height pass the bill, cost but it was achieved and when the view comes it is shocking, the color of the water, the mountains and the snow intermingle, leaving an indelible memory in your retina. Unmissable scenic beauty.

Espectacular caminata durante 5 días alrededor del Ausangate...
feb. 2020
