Avoid this airline. Most expensive boat ride I have ever had. I have been trying to get a refund from them for months and have finally given up. We had a flight transfer paid for months in advance. Day of trip they tell us they need to work on plane for 5min, then 30min, hours later they put us on a cargo boat they had already arranged to haul out luggage that day. We would have just taken the Yasawa flier if they had been upfront about plane issues. They told us we would receive a refund via our booking agent. When working with the agent they refused to refund and told the agent a different story. There were many other travelers that suffered the same fate that day.
Also, the website is dishonest. They only have one plane and it is not the one on the website.
I’m not too pleased with Fiji Vacations handling of this mess either.
We booked with Pacific Island Air for our return and everything was great.

We used Turtle Airways for our transfers between Nadi and Yasawa.
We were met at the airport by a very friendly driver and taken straight to the Turtle Airways plane. Once we were weighed and checked in we were on our way. The flight was amazing and such a good way to see the islands.
There were 2 couples in our plane and too much luggage so Turtle told us to take a carry on and the rest was sent over a little later which was fine.
The return flight was scheduled for 1:30pm but didn't turn up until around 2:40pm...not really sure why BUT we had planned that this may happen and weren't transferring straight back to Nadi Airport so I recommend this is done. These are only small planes and weather can be a huge variable.
Again, once in the air, the return flight was amazing (takes about 30 mins from Turtle Island Resort back to Nadi).
We then had a transfer to our next location in Nadi.
There were great communications through-out with Turtle Airways. Fantastic service overall.

2 couples together had booked a return flight with deposit paid and accepted to fly by seaplane to Navatu stars resort in the Yasawas. We turned up on time for our flight to be told our return flight the following week would be cancelled because the plane was due a service, yet we had not been contacted so we could have a chance to make alternative arrangements and neither had the company made any effort to do this- very upsetting! There were 3 other working days a service could be done before our return, it seemed a con. I see this is a reoccurring theme in the reviews. The company did not tell us there was an alternative sea plane pacific island airplanes they or us could have booked rather than a chopper they advised at double the cost?!! Having said that the pilot and flight was beautiful as was the chopper ride home . Total lack of confidence in the management of this company after asking and speaking to him.

Had my tripped booked for 8 months .
3 weeks before my trip got an email , all sea plane transfers to resorts canceled .. will send refund ..
haven’t seen refund . Now scrambling to to book another sea plane .. bad service , bad planning ...

We flew to Yasawa group i paid by credit card in full and
48hrs before we leave back to Nadi i get a phone call saying flights cancelled as need to do 100hr service. I think safety is great but why take our money and book if you knew you had programmed maintenance. To make it worse the lady was rude and dishonest. They cancelled us Thursday morning and said she would refund my hundreds of dollars and it hasnt been done!!! Our lovely resort admin even spoke to the lady and i spoke to her on Saturday still no money refund on my card!! I and the hotel asked for an email proof of refund and she said yes will email and never did!! I want my money back IN FULL tomorrow! Im contacting Visa and my bank its disgusting how you have treated us and i will never fly with you again! Funny i googled Turtle airways to discover they had a plane crash only in April!! Into a cane field!! If i had known how dishonest and rude you were i would never have booked with you. Our pilot however on the way to the Yasawas was the most lovliest man and so kind to us shame the rest of the company let us down.

We have used Turtle airways many many times over the past 5 years and have never been let down.
Recently our international flight to Nadi was cancelled and this put us a day behind our travel arrangements
A quick phone call to turtle to advise them and rearrange a next day service to the yassawa’s was not an issuie,no cancellation fees or added fees,just transferred us to the following day
Hassle free.
I will always be using turtle when travelling to the yasssawa’s

With the help of my resort I booked a seaplane transfer from Nadi to Tavewa Island. Unfortunately, my flight to Tavewa was canceled due to maintenance on the plane. However both Turtle and my resort did a great job in communicating the issue to me ahead of time and helping to arrange alternative transfer. I took the Yasawa Flyer to the island and on the way back I flew on the seaplane. Turtle Airways picked me up on time and I even got to sit in the front of the plane with the pilot, Matt. My first time ever and I was a bit scared but it was a beautiful flight! We stopped at another island to pick up a couple on the way back to Nadi. In total, it was about an hour travel time. Although my flight out was canceled I feel fortunate because I got to see Fiji by boat and air. All around, it was a good trip!

Got a great price to tag along while the pilot was taking another couple to one of the outlying island resorts. What a fun beautiful trip for us. The view was amazing and the pilots really took his time to show us the beautiful coral reefs. We even flew over the island where they filmed the movie castaway.

Similar to other reviewers, we booked a plane transfer months in advance to save time, however the plane never showed up and we missed our flight out of Nadi and had to reschedule at our cost. We were only informed when we called and asked where the plane was since the departure time had passed, and were told there were mechanical problems and we would not be picked up. Had we been informed the plane would not show, we could have booked a boat transfer and still made the flight. Cancelling a flight for safety reasons is understandable, however the poor communication was very disappointing and expensive.

Looking to book a 9AM flight to Yasawas and a 4PM return (their latest) to maximize our time there. Did people that booked a late return have issues - read Turtle booked them on an earlier return with short notice?

Weather is a factor there. Are you doing just a day trip? If so, I am not sure it's worth it. If you are just talking in general, these guys are solid, if weather is not a factor.

All I can say is that we asked to leave in the morning and we were picked up at 8.15 and taken to the base where we left just after 9....perfect for us.
Just send Turtle an email. They are very professional and prompt with their responses. I would definitely fly with them again.
