Nice beach shame about the rubbish

If you stand on the beach and look out to the ocean this place is FIVE stars gorgeous looking water. What is not so good and hopefully is just short term and as a result of the recent cyclone is the rubbish on the beach… if Fiji had 10c cash for cans you could make a fortune on this beach… drink bottles-soft drink and alcohol as well as other plastic rubbish (including one car tyre) especially to the north of the Yatule Resort. - no bins to use either if you felt like doing a good deed and picking up some rubbish as you walked.
The beach is beautifully positioned for watching the sunset over the ocean.
If you don’t know the area and want to snorkel there is a dive shop at intercontinental that does boat snorkel trips (as well as diving) for an hour for f$65. Between the Yatule resort and intercontinental there are a few local huts-“markets” the owner will approach but I didn’t find them to annoying after a polite no thanks they will leave you alone- saying that I have no idea what i was saying no to.. it would be good if the resorts either side could help and invest in these little businesses having a nice set of markets to shop at and get a cold drink would be a lovely asset to the area. There is also a boating business (fishing trip- trips to local village etc) the owner will also approach you. I didn’t use his service so cannot comment on it however there APPEARED to be no other similar services (apart from dive place I mentioned) in the bay itself. Unfortunately seas were rough when we were there- quite rough surf but still nice protected areas in front of intercontinental that u can see small fish etc.

Beautiful sandy beach full it is a real shame that plastic bottle tops and plastic was everywhere. Lots of seaweed. We bought vouchers at the $35 each to use their beach-you can spend the vouchers at their bar/restaurant. Well worth it as the local hawkers didn’t bother us. The road to Yatule spa resort was full of potholes. Yatule staff are friendly and accommodating.

Nice beach for a walk, but not so nice for swimming.

Nice beach to visit, but I would not travel significantly out of the way to visit or plan an entire day here. The beach has nice sand that is softer than some of the other beaches we visited in Fiji, but it is not a swimming friendly beach due to the waves and currents. We had a rental car and accessed the beach via a dirt road (just north of the intercontintal hotel) that felt like it was a "back entrance." I had read other reviews that mentioned constant heckling to get massages or ride horses. I did not encounter this. One person asked me politely if I would like to ride a horse. I said no and he walked straight off. Surprised that there were no temporary shops to buy souvenirs or food and drink.

Truly a gorgeous beach and no doubt it lives up to all its reviews. The road down is relatively short but horribly rutted and in parts dangerous so take care. As per many reviews do be aware that locals have set up their cabanas and are quite pushy. No horses any more as the fijian health department seem to have banned them on the beach. Big sign up. We did have to say a polite but final no thanks timaybe 3 different people. After that they left us alone. Water was clear and warm loads of fish too.

vendors spoil it

the beach is beautiful but completely spoiled by the constant hassle of vendors, whether it is for a massage, or horse ride, or a boat ride. Extremely annoying and ruins the experience of being able to appreciate a simple walk along the beach. It did not help that there was a massive argument to the point of physicality between a female vendor, and her male relative regarding some business issue right in the tent where my friend as getting a massage. Seriously, this area needs proper policing, and I feel sorry for the patrons who stay at the resort on this beach.

Plage/surf méritant un arret

Très belle plage, spot de surf pour débutants. Jolies vagues qui permettent d’apprendre le surf ou se perfectionner sans avoir peur des grosses vagues.
Propositions insistantes de massages et de balades à cheval. Mais le massage reste abordable et tres bien réalisé.
Plage qui mérite une pause. L’intercontinental et le Yatule hôtel proposent des DayPass pour profiter d’un lunch, piscine et toutes accommodations.

A beautiful beach with really lovely people.

We drove here on a recommendation to see a lovely sandy beach. We were not disappointed. You have to take the road next to the Intercontinental driveway. This road has seen better days, but you come out to a tree lined path with locals on horses waving and saying hi.
Bring some cash and get a massage at Ninas Beach massage. Be specific with what you want and how hard. I had a shoulder sports massage and it was intense, but well worth it after.
A beautiful beach with really lovely people.

Beach is gorgeous.

All the reviews about the people on the beach trying to get you to buy massages or hair braiding or boat rides or horse rides, are correct. HOWEVER, in our experience, if you say you are not interested they immediately say “okay, no worries” and walk away.

We walked down to in front of the Intercontinental Hotel and posted up in front of the sand bar.

Please note, you CANNOT go into the Intercontinental for anything unless you are staying there. We thought we could get lunch there but we were wrong.

My husband ended up walking down to the other side of the beach and grabbed food at the restaurant there where you had to buy a voucher. Either way, that took awhile but he had a few drinks there so he was fine.

Water was warm, views were nice.

Schöner langer Sandstrand

Schöner ewig langer Sandstrand. Da wir im InterConti untergebracht waren, hatten wir den Natadola Beach vor der Haustüre. Wunderschöne Sonnenuntergänge und niemals überlaufen. Im Gegenteil, teilweise menschenleer. Zum schwimmen sehr angenehm. Bei Ebbe kann man ewig weit reinlaufen. Badeschuhe haben wir nicht gebraucht

This could be the best or the worst of your beach experience in Fiji. If you get in the water closest to the massage tents you'll be swimming into waves full of loose seaweed and wood, not nice. You'll also be asked a thousand times for a massage or horse riding. Make your way down the beach and you'll find clearer waters and less harassment, they're just trying to make money, I get it, but it can be tiresome. We jumped out of the water and ate our snacks up on the beach, in peace - perfect!
