What a great day we had, we go racing frequently & it was odd to do it without drinking or gambling but just a brilliant atmosphere, family centred & an altogether great experience.

The Jebel Ali racecourse is the other racecourse in Dubai, which is not as well known or as ultra-modern as the Meydan. However, this place has an old-fashioned charm about it.
The racecourse is not in Jebel Ali, but is just behind Barsha Heights, with Dubai Internet City being the nearest Metro Station. From the station, one can take a cab to get here. The racecourse is very close to the stands and the spectators get a great view of the horses and the racing.
One should visit this place during the racing season from November to the end of March. One can see locals and residents from across the world come here to see the races. Entrance is free, while snacks and coffee/tea are served outside the main stand.

Spent an afternoon at the Jebel Ali Racecourse in Feb 2019. It is a very busy racecourse and parking is simple with bus transport from the car park to the Grandstand. The races are professionally run with several well know jockeys and trainers taking part. The main grandstand was very busy and a great atmoshpere. I was lucky enough to know one of the horse traners so had passes to the Owners, Jockeys and Trainers Grandstand to the left side of the Main Granstand. Both grandstands are build so that you are sat in the shade which is nice to eep out of the Dubai sun.
Although gambling is not allowed, prizes can be won with regular draws for all sorts of prizes with the main prize on the day we visited being a new car. All in all a visit to Jebel Ali is a great days racing in a pleasant and friendly atmosphere.

I have visited Jebel Ali racecourse many times, as a very small share owner in a local syndicate. It is, to me, the closest you can get in the UAE to a course in the UK, or elsewhere, where the focus is on the horse racing. A 5 star dining establishment with a racecourse attached it is not, but all the better for it. The atmosphere is great and the service from the staff is excellent. You are so much closer to the action than at other courses here and everything and everyone is that much more accessible. The season is just about over here but I would recommend that anyone with an interest in horse racing should come to Jebel Ali (November - end of March each year). Don't expect it to be the same as anywhere else outside the Middle East, just take it as it is.

Отель находится на окраине Дубая, далековато от центра, напротив очередной строящейся насыпной пальмы. Но если нужно отлежаться на пляже , то все условия достойные. Кормят очень вкусно и разнообразно, по произведениям местного кондитера до сих пор скучаю! С десяток ресторанов, всё включено, кроме лобстеров. Персонал тихий и услужливый, все из Индии или из Бангладеш. В последний день шумной компанией всю ночь резвились в одном из бассейнов, никто слова не сказал, просто стояли в рядок , молча, ждали, пока гости успокоятся после party в яхт -клубе! Есть стрелковый клуб, все морские развлечения также присутствуют! 500 USD за номер в день и отель в полном Вашем распоряжении! По-русски reseption разговаривает, работают русскоговорящие сотрудники отеля.

Had some friends in town this week who are well into their horse racing and with the Meydan season not starting until later it was left to Jebel Ali to provide the thrills.
Calling it Jebel Ali is a bit of a misnomer, it's actually closer to Mall of the Emirates than it is to Jebel Ali (it's next to the Saudi German hospital on the corner of Hessa St
Arriving, you're met with a bewildering array of signs directing you to parking... basically as a tourist unless you're a guest of a jockey or trainer then park on the gravel on your RHS as you drive up the entrance road.
The venue is free seating and will be crowded beyond belief but the atmosphere is friendly and the main stand has been constructed so that you are sat in shade.
5 or so races run over the afternoon with English commentary provided and an incomprehensible prize draw and then it was time to leave.
There's a limited range of beverages available to buy but this is very much a local style venue so don't expect anything flash.
As with all local style venues here, dress appropriately (shoulders and knees covered)
