Our guide ,Meng, from Angkor Travel Tour, did a great job on this tour. Even though it is the dry season and the village is not in the water at present he made it very interesting in seeing the contrast of the village conditions between wet and dry seasons. The boat trip on the lake was still memorable.
Meng was passionate about the life there and had good knowledge about recent history. The tour went very smoothly.

This is a place everyone should visit, not because it’s fun or pretty but because it’s a lesson about how poor, voiceless and helpless people are treated. The lake on which they “float” is dying along with their homes and heritage. Newly built hydroelectric dams upriver are starving the lake of water and the one soon be built just upriver in Laos will kill it. A large population of people who depend upon fishing and rice farming are being displaced with abject disregard for their welfare. Yes, visit. Yes, buy their wares. But please take time away from snapping selfies and look at what is before you and understand how and why it is happening.

One of the poorest places in Cambodia and if you visit there, take the time to ensure the locals get a chance to sell you something, even if you don’t need it. Fascinating place to visit and the people are friendly. What you need to know is NOT to go there in A Tuk-Tuk or remoque . Only by bus or car !!!! It is very dusty to get there and not pleasant if you’re going to get the dust in your eyes , mouth, nose and ears. You will have to pay $25 per person for a boat trip, or you cannot get in! But it is worthwhile!!

Really facinating to see and hear about the people and children there, how they live, their jobs,... Because we went to the village in dry season, the water is not really high so they houses don't "float" but you can see the structure of the houses, how they are build - also really interesting. It's worth a visit

Excellent half day trip including village market tour , fruits veges herbs , meats seafood . Friendly locals . A boat trip to the village , as it was the dry season we walked through this area and travelled again by boat to the lake . I would like to see it it the wet season . Charming children and hard working adults in a community that is seeing positive progress in infrastructure . Not an easy life for the community .

A very toxic and corrupt tourist trap. There is only one company that offers a river ride. We wanted to manage by ourselves so we tried entering the village. They won't let us in on scooter as a tourist. So we went by feet. It was february so the village was dry and walkable, but overall the people live in very poor conditions. So we wanted to rent a boat ride by a local, but were unable to, because "the police won't allow that", said a local that we bought beer from. Shocked, we continued to walk further to the lake, but it was so hot and so far and it led to nowhere, so we decided to go back to the entrance.

We shared the boat ticket so it was not that expensive (28 USD for a 5 person boat), but it drived us only to another office apart from the village, where we had no other choice but to buy another ticket (15 USD per two person boat) to drive you around the village, we had no information about this before, it's a toxic practice. Otherwise you can just go back and see nothing. They don't forget to mention that half the money goes to charity to support the locals, but considering how many tourists go here and how the condition of the village looks, I hardly believe that. Just do the math, they hire police(!) to keep locals from making any money from tourism directly, instead they controll every penny tourists spend here, that's not how support looks imo.

The ride through the village itself was depressing, we felt like invading people's privacy, as if they were animals in the zoo.
Then they took js to the only restaurant and souvenir shop with an abusing crocodile farm. The mangrove river, which we wanted to see the most, was not available to swim through, because the water level was too low at the time. I understand, but shouldn't they have told us on the very beginning? In the end, they didn't let us interact with any locals to support them directly, all of our money was controlled. We only bough beer from a local directly inside the village when we entered by feet.

The tour Kampong Phluk Floating Village was great. Our guide Tear picked us up on time. He also had a lot of knowledge about the region and gave detailed explanation. He was funny, helpful, friendly. Made the trip fun, comfortable. Would recommend this tour with Tear to all. Thanks Tear.

This was a fun experience! We arranged for a Tuk Tuk to take us round trip from our hotel to the floating village location. There is a stop where you will first buy a ticket ($20 USD), and then it is a short Tuk Tuk ride to the docks. The boat ride was nice and the driver pointed out local sites. You stop for a rest at a floating restaurant, where you have the option of grabbing some thing to drink or eat. There is also an option to go on a smaller boat ride through the mangrove (for an extra charge— this is not included in the ticket price), but my friend and I decided not to do that. Overall recommend this excursion to see a bit of the countryside. The total trip took about 4 hours door-to-door from Siem Reap.
