This garden might be small, but it packs a punch! It's a fantastic example of classic Chinese garden design, with all the beautiful features you'd expect. While the night tour fee (120 RMB) is a bit steeper, it's worth it during the summer. You'll be rewarded with a peaceful experience, free from the daytime crowds.
The night tour truly elevates the experience. They have special lighting that transforms the garden and even include a live performance of traditional Suzhou Pingtan music. It's an unforgettable experience! Booking the night tour is easy - you can do it through the official Suzhou gardens app within WeChat.
Overall, I highly recommend this garden, especially if you can swing the night tour.

This is the first UNESCO heritage site we visited. This is a very nice garden with typical Chinese houses and furniture. It's a place worth visiting. Try this out first before going to a bigger one.

Master-of-Nets Garden is one of the less popular mansions in the Suzhou area.
We visited the attraction during Spring Festival of 2024, in a rainy day. The entrance charge is RMB 15, which is half price due to a policy implemented by Suzhou government to encourage tourism. Though supposedly, oversea guests (with passport) need to pay full price, you can simply buy the discounted ticket in an online app (e.g., Ctrip), obtain a 2D barcode, and just scanned the 2D barcode at the entrance. Nobody will check your ID card.
Our visit is pleasant as the Master-of-Nets Garden is relatively uncrowded due to its status as a lesser attraction. The reservation of entrance can be secured in real-time, unlike the major attractions, such as the Suzhou Museum, Lion Forest, which needs to be reserved days (if not weeks) in advance. The rainy day also helps to reduce the crowd.
The attraction beautifully showcased the Chinese mansion and garden philosophy, as you can find different Instagram worthy photos from different spots in the mansion.

夜游门票🎫100元，可以提前预定也可以现场买票，组织方组织得力，整个夜游活动非常有规矩，可以说是十分的赏心悦目，没有糟心事。整个夜游环节，分别是舞蹈，古筝表演，昆曲，昆剧，对唱这几部分组成，每个环节大概5-8分钟左右。那时那刻犹如走进了明代的私家花园，园子主人安排了一些节目邀你一起来欣赏～来苏州，一定不可错过。

I liked the Master of Nets Garden a lot. In late afternoon it was nice and fairly quiet. Definitely add to the Suzhou gardens list if you have time for it!

This one is very beautiful and above all very peaceful, there was almost no one there. Fortunately because it is small. This is the garden to do in Suzhou.

Suzhou is a remarkably beautiful city with a large number of impressive attractions including a lot of big gardens that are complex, sophisticated, and photogenic. Take your camera and wear your walking shoes.

its just a small, well decorated and preserved garden. Found people inside drawing some traditional pictures. the fun but disturbed part was that we had some crazy photo sessions and the guard there was not happy with us.

Home of a poet who kept a tiger in this sprawling garden home.
The place is typical of Suzhou with a house that is decorated with calligraphy, and a garden with stone landscaping.
My personal opinion is that once you have seen one, you can give the rest a miss as they are very similar.
