Nothing really interesting about this museum except for the neighbourhood that is quite lively. Despite the claim that dwellings of the museum are 100 years old.... it's pretty clear that everything has been rebuilt.

The core area is the first area - the historical and cultural area. Through graphic materials, learn about the origins of beer, the long history of the beer and its honours.

Many artefacts, pictures and information collected from Europe and the whole country are on display, as well as objects from all stages of Qingdao beer. Some German and Japanese friends whose ancestors worked at QingDao Beer have donated relics and historical materials specifically for this exhibition, making this area even more fascinating.

The second area is the production process area, which includes old buildings, old equipment and workshop environments and production scenes. The equipment placed in each representative part of the production process provides a visual introduction to the production process and history of Qingdao Beer.

In order to recreate the original history, the museum has set up sculptural models of workers' production work in the old fermentation ponds of the old saccharification workshop, as well as replicating old laboratory scenes and scenes of workers turning malt.

The third area is a multi-purpose area. On the ground floor is a tasting area and shopping centre with a capacity of over 100 visitors, where visitors can enjoy tasting many different qualities of fresh Qingdao beer and buying various souvenirs.

On the first floor there is a comprehensive entertainment facility with an avant-garde design concept and high-tech means to combine knowledge and entertainment, allowing visitors to learn about the complex process of beer brewing in an entertaining way.

At the same time, the touch-screen automatic electronic displays set up in several places throughout the museum allow visitors to consult the literature of their interest at any time.

This was my first real cultural experience since moving to Qingdao. The museum is extensive and you do need to set aside time to do it full justice. You can discover the entire history of how German-inspired beer came to be made in this wonderful coastal city in NE China. The story is told with great imagination and it will appeal to all nationalities. The exhibits are well displayed and the layout takes you around part of the former brewery. There are a couple of really imaginative touches which I won't share so you can enjoy them yourself. And, of course, drinking some beer is part of the experience. Though it is not quite what it used to be, the nearby, appropriately-named Beer Street is worth a visit too in the evening. This is good fun solo, better as a couple and a great laugh in a group!

Well worth the visit even if you are not a beer drinker!! Interesting background on beer and beer brewing in China. The tour ends with a walk through the brewing process and a sample beer.

喝了那麼多年的啤酒,可以在此了解一下它的歷史,現在的展示方式也加入了一些現代元素,逛起來不會枯橾乏味。門票售價60元還是合理的。

The museum was very well thought out and they have lots of memorabilia saved from decades of operations in Qingdao. I enjoyed the museum at the beginning of the self guided tour with its many advertisements, export records and bottle collection (everything from 1903 to KFC). The museum also goes through a thorough history of German ownership, Japanese era, Chinese takeover and modern day expansion.

Tsingtao may not be the best beer but the beer museum was a lot of fun, well maintained and clean. Halfway through the tour there is a little pub where you can grab a small beer and a bag of honey roasted peanuts just after the history area. After the small pub there is the vats and bottling areas. Three quarters the way through there is a large gift shop which had some well made Tsingtao novelties, boxes of beer and ice cream (which included a beer flavoured ice cream which was pretty good). After you pass the gift shop there is the 1903 restaurant where you can grab another free beer.

The regular ticket price was 50 RMB which includes two 200 ml beers and 1 bag of peanuts. There are quite a few different ticket prices which you could pay for depending on your inclination to drink Tsingtao at the beer museum. An option that seemed like an ok deal was spending 80 RMB to get the regular admission plus a 2 L bag of beer. We saw a few couples where one purchased the 80 RMB ticket and they split the beer at the restaurant at the end using the small glasses. There were other tickets which included a pint glass, beer flights or other souvenirs.

If you don't get the extra beer but decide you want more during the tour it will cost double for the beer bag (60 RMB) during the tour. You could also get beer in a bag for pretty cheap at a plethora of restaurants accross the street from the beer museum. In addition to the displays and beer there is a nice open area between the museum and the brewery to take pictures.

We would recommend this museum if you want to learn a bit about Qingdao's history, beer history in China or are a fan of beer.

We figured the closest metro is Lijin Road but it is a bit of a hike from there. Didi is cheap in Qingdao and the drop off is "Tsingtao Brewery Museum - Ticket Office".

Everyone who comes to town does the Beer Museum. It’s just a thing. It reminded me of the Sapporo Brewery tour in Japan, just not as well done. It’s fine- just not great. You can go through quickly and still learn the basics about how the brewery came to be and how it’s developed over the years. I purchased the ticket + a 6 beer tasting (which was a great deal because it’s basically the half price with a ticket, as compared to just buying the sampler at the bar. The IPA was surprisingly good and if I was able to check a bag for my flight home, I probably would have brought some back with me.

This museum is fun and interesting even for a non-beer drinker like me. It is very organized and everything was self-explanatory. They give you two free samples of the beer while on the tour which I couldn't even finish. The room for the experience of how a drunk person feels was quite fun. This is a very busy place with tourists doing their must-do stop here. Half price for seniors which was very nice!
