With this opinion, I offer you a stroll in the “Plateau” district, which brings together several styles of architecture and very diverse original sites. However, contrary to what is said, in some opinions, even if this area is safe due to the presence of the police, walking there is not always a pleasure. First of all, there are no street names displayed in relation to the neighborhood map, which requires finding your bearings geographically. The sidewalks are occupied by cars, which forces pedestrians to walk on the side of the road. The sidewalks are often broken and you have to be careful where you step. I find that, overall, apart from the recent buildings, the rest is degraded and poorly maintained. The city center park is in a lamentable state and does not make you want to rest there! For a neighborhood, which wants to be a place of power and history, this is not satisfactory and it is even lamentable. Finally, lively area during the day and deserted in the evening and especially on weekends!
The Ivory Coast deserves better!! After these few digressions on the setting, I will approach the visit.

We start from the south of the Plateau, from the new Felix Houphouet-Boigny bridge. Right on Boulevard du Général de Gaulle, you should linger and take a walk along the lagoon, where gardens allow you to observe the activity of the taxi boats. If you enter the town, you can see the beautiful Rue du Commerce lined with beautiful shade trees, which lives up to its name. In this street, two stylish hotels stand out, such as the Novotel and its garden and further towards the east the Grand Hôtel, which has a very particular charm. It is shaped like a boat with soft, rounded lines and its stylish balconies. liner. Taking Rue Cosson du Plessis, which heads west, you can observe the beautiful “Salam” mosque of the Plateau, which has a very specific and colorful architecture. Its monumental entrance is open with arches. , the blue dome and the minaret with its slender and ornate appearance, appear in superb harmony. You must then take the street which leads towards the North to end up in Avenue Anoma, which has the particularity of concentrating a few particular buildings. Indeed, that of the Regional Stock Exchange is a little gem of “African Art Deco” style.
Further on, the harmonized BCEAO tower, with its bulbous style and glass walls, stands out. Right next door, avenue Delafosse, the Versus Bank building, looks like a “capped” ocean liner bow. passing in front of it, and taking avenue Franchet d'Esperey, you can pay a visit to the "French Institute of Côte d'Ivoire" Right next door, the building called "Pyramide" 62 m high, boulevard Roussel. , which dates from 1973, is in the process of falling into disrepair (I would have preferred to write in the process of renovation, alas!!). Its style, very specific in the shape of a triangle, with its shuttered openings, is a work of art. peril. If you like hotels with an innovative style, you should continue on boulevard Botreau Roussel which goes down in front of the Pyramid and turn right into rue "Paris Village" which will take you to the superb building of the "Noom" hotel, with its shape. cut into linear parts covered with bulbs, topped by an elegant modern tower. From this place, we have a view of the Ebriée lagoon, on the Cocody bay side, with the new NSO bridge in the background.
You must then return, via Avenue Chardy, towards the center of the Plateau towards Avenue de la République, which is its main artery. In fact, we arrive in front of two poorly maintained parks, which face the modern Alpha 2000 complex. This two-part ocher-colored building with a base in a gradient African Sahelian style facade is topped by a tower in the same style. Further west and beyond the gardens, the Presidential Palace cannot be visited, but is worth a look!! Going up Avenue de la République towards the North, the setting is ordinary and the buildings are rather degraded in style. But further on, we arrive, along the bay, where the superb oval-shaped Houphouët Boigny stadium imposes its structure. where the metal tubes and the orange color of its fences dominate. You must then continue along Rue de la République to reach the beautiful Saint Paul Cathedral, which is worth a long visit to appreciate its architectural values. From this point, you can admire the beautiful bay of Cocody, which is currently being developed, and the new NGA bridge, which has an elegant structure. Just off the coast towards the West, we arrive in the Grande Cité Administrative with its very contemporary towers from the 1980s in an unpleasant setting; Work on the very tall “F” tower is underway. Some renovated towers look good. Further south, Tower D, a little isolated, is original with its slender appearance. Further on we change the setting with the Museum of Civilizations of Côte d'Ivoire. The building is not architecturally attractive, but the interior has valuable works.

In the French language it refers to the city. There is some very beautiful modern building structures. Some look like they will fall any time. There are also some very dilapidated blocks in the city. The regional development bank, Africa Development Bank is housed here, not far from the Saint Paul Cathedral. It's trees in some sections. The library is also not very far from these 2 places.

Bonne organisation du trafic routier, rues propres, présence à la fois dissuasive et discrète des forces de sécurité et des agents de surveillance.

This is the commercial district of Abidjan. All business offices here. As well as brunch restaurants to meet for meetings. A few high end hotels in the area. Its not too far from the Presidents palace. When I booked my flight I took my money cash & booked my flight to leave. Good area to take care of business. I don’t think there’s nothing to do there after business hours.
