Bobby is very knowledgeable about birds and managed to find just about every Taveuni endemic except the orange doves which were sadly killed in the cyclone. The wearher was pretty bad, but we got enough clear periods to walk around the property and Bobby found all the birds. Highlight was a pair of shining parrots building a nest!

Ajay is as great driver from Maravu Lodge, reasonable prices and he pointed out all the highlights to and from Bobby's Farm. Both Bobby and Ajay are super nice friendly people!

A visit to Bobby’s 100 acre farm was one of the highlights of our visit to Taveuni. It was such an educational tour (being local we thought we knew a lot) and Bobby is so knowledgeable on the flora and fauna and loves to share his knowledge. We learnt about fruits and plants we had never seen before. Along the way we collected and tried fruits and at the end of our walk we had an amazing vegetarian curry banquet prepared by Bobby’s elderly mother. We spent about 4 hours here and this tour of Bobby’s paradise is the real Fiji and felt as though we were with an old friend. I definitely recommend a visit and will be bringing family and friends with me next time.

A great tour of Bobby‘s massive farm containing a large variety of native plants and birds. He shares a lot of his in-depth knowledge, which makes the tour really interesting. The lunch at his place, which uses a lot of his own fruits and vegetables, was amazing as well and added to the great overall experience. Highly recommended overall!

This longtime passionate farmer in Fiji is a wealth of knowlegde! My hope is, he finds a botanist who helps discover Bobby's unique plants.

I'm glad I visited Bobby's Farm on my last day in Taveuni. Bobby welcomed me and immediately pointed out beautiful birds all around us, including many-coloured fruit-doves and orange-breasted myzomela, which I hadn't managed to see elsewhere. Unfortunately there are no longer any orange doves present since Cyclone Winston tore through here in 2016 but the experience is still worth it. Apart from the birds, Bobby will take you on a tour of his farm which contains a crazy variety of plants and fruits, and he will let you try some. These are a great appetiser before you sit down for a very nice lunch cooked by his wife Jiu using mostly ingredients grown on their farm. All up a great experience and a must-do while on Taveuni, as well as providing a worthwhile contribution to Bobby's striving for a healthier environment through agroforestry.

Bobby is your guide to Fiji's ethno botany. Bobby is interested in everything connected to the flora and fauna of his 100 acre 'farm' and he loves to share his wealth of knowledge with you. Whether it's a rare species of fern or a medicinal plant, Bobby is right with you. He's genuinely enthusiastic in showing you around his farm and the nearby rainforest. If you're going to Fiji and interested in its natural history, you won't be disappointed doing Bobby's tour.

We visited Bobby's Farm for bird-watching early on the last morning of our stay on Taveuni, and we were so glad we did! Bobby showed us at least eight rare birds we never would have seen otherwise. He calls to the wild birds, and they come to him. An incredibly colored parrot landed on his finger as he was pointing out another bird to us. As rewarding as the birdwatching was seeing the many fruits and medicinal plants Bobby grows on his land and hearing about Bobby's efforts to engage in sustainable farming. He should be considered a national treasure of Fiji, given his knowledge of birds and plants and sustainable farming. We paid a small fee for Bobby's time and highly recommend a visit with this gracious, fascinating man.

Very educational tour, we learned so much about local plants! Bobby is a fascinating character and he is doing a great job to preserve biodiversity. He took care of his farm farm decades and has now a huge variety of local species that he showed us during the tour.

The tour starts in the farm and continues in the rainforest. Both sites have been damaged by TC Winston, but the damages are much more visible in the rainforest. The farm is still very impressive.

During the tour we tried some of the fruit and at the end of the tour we had a great meal prepared by his wife and mum using the vegetables from the farm. We had lunch with him and his wife in their house and we enjoyed the experience.

Highly recommended! It's also a way to support Bobby in his efforts to keep the project going despite considerable damage suffered during the cyclone.

When we visited Tavenui Bobby’s farm was technically closed - the last cyclone to hit the island caused a lot of damage and as a result he no longer has any orange doves on his farm. As a result of this (and the damage) he doesn’t feel he can charge people for a farm visit. This starts to show you the sort of lovely man Bobby is.

When we expressed an interest in seeing the farm our taxi driver called in with us. Whilst we did not get the tour he showed us round his garden, pointed out interesting birds and handed us different plants / fruits to try.

He talked a lot about how Fiji is still developing and making mistakes - cutting down trees and thinking only finance rather than sustainability. He told us about his efforts to be completely sustainable on his farm, and his attempts to educate local school children. Despite giving up his time and feeding us delicious fruit he would not accept payment from us until we forced a donation upon him.

Please call in and see Bobby and his farm whilst on Taveuni. It is a wonderful place and he is a very interesting man.
