Outstanding tour, great team, fabulous chocolate - what else could you want? The site is a great mix of education, nature, and fun and is very convenient to reach from Savusavu. The team is super knowledegable about the region and its amazing biological diversity. You will happily spend a couple hours here and leave with some truly outstanding chocolate.

When you pull up to Kokomana farm, you'll wonder how you've arrived in what looks like a full tropical rainforest just a short way from the main road into Savusavu. When you're on the tour you'll learn that this forest is full of crops blended in and thoughtfully grown with the canopy-building trees. It's so much more than just cocoa! They have a large variety of fruits, coffee, and flowering plants, all accessible by pathway and steps beautifully maintained. We enjoyed learning about agroforestry from our knowledgeable guide, and seeing it in practice.

But we haven't even gotten to the chocolate yet! The chocolate maker explains the process from tree to bar, and you'll be able to try Kokomana's chocolates (our favorites include the coconut bars and the chili chocolate) while hearing about how the ingredients are sourced locally and responsibly. Kokomana is working with various local communities and is a true leader of sustainability in Savusavu.

I expected delicious chocolate from Fiji and Kokomana definitely delivered on that front! I didn't expect to learn about insects, the benefits of agro-forestry, or the history of chocolate, but I learned all this and more in a short visit to Kokomana. Highly recommended for all age levels, plus your friends back home will thank you for bringing back chocolate souvenirs :)

If you call ahead Lina will make sure you have a personal experience that will surely be a highlight of your time in Fiji. Everyone involved is so friendly and knowledgeable, Vinaka all!!

We requested a very last minute reservation, and Lina was kind enough to carve out some private time for us before a large cruise group arrived.

The owner Richard is a biologist and it really showed during his presentation which went well beyond the history and the mechanics and process of cocao production. We learned about how cocao is integrated into the overall ecosystem in Fiji and some of the ecological and agricultural challenges that the island has to grapple with.

The chocolate itself was fabulous, thanks to Sam's expert training. As usual, we ended up buying far less than my wife would let me....and as a result, I snuck a few bars with out sharing with her!!

Kokomana is an excellent investment of time!

Such a fun experience!
We came to Savusavu for the diving and snorkeling. We had some rainy days, so decided to visit KokoMana. Perfect activity for us on a down day out of the water.

Richard, Sam, and the guide gave us a great tour and visit; professional, personable, fun, and engaging. We learned so much, asked a bunch of questions, and tasted some amazing chocolates. AMAZING chocolates!

You will leave with a good feeling about this place. Vanua Levu is lucky to have them here. They do take credit cards, we left with LOT of chocolate.

Every once and while you stumble across a hidden gem while travelling. Kokomana was the highlight of my entire fiji trip and is a must see on your visit to Vanu Levu (Fijis north island). It’s not your average chocolate factory tour this is an insightful, farm to table experience that will leave you with a big smile and probably a lot of chocolate. It’s good - it’s really good.

My partner and I visited Fiji Jan 2022 just after the Covid re-opening. so we were lucky enough to have the place to ourselves. We were met by Lina and the farm dog and 3 cats. They are lovely and very affectionate animals if you are into that - which my partner and I very much are. Lina welcomed us with a cold drink and good chat before Joeli the head coco farmer gave us a great tour through the property and their coco treating facilities. He was very informative and answered every question (no matter how weird) with a smile and a good sense of humour. There is a real emphasis on sustainability and eco friendly farming practices which is always great to see.

Once we finished our tour we came inside and met the lovely Sam - head chocolate maker. Sam’s sweet nature and passion for his job is so heartwarming. He takes you through the cooking process and also takes you through the chocolate tasting! Wow. It just kept coming. I had to stop saying “this one is my favourite” because I changed my mind with each taste. They have your classics 85% or 70% blocks but I really enjoyed their chai masala block, chilli frogs and coconut bar.

We came back a second time to pick up chocolate for our families back home and this time met the owner Richard. His kindness, passion for conservation and push to give back to the local community was really just the cherry on top of wonderful experience.

We bought a lot of chocolate not only because it tastes amazing but we saw the passion that goes behind every aspect of this little local run business. I sincerely hope their business picks up and gets the credit they deserve when tourism fully returns to Fiji after the Covid era.

Vinaka!

Great views and scenic walk. This was the highlight of our Savusavu trip. The team has a wealth of knowledge on sustainable agroforestry techniques. Intercropping, nitrogen fixation, forest conservation and composting in the planting of cocoa. Learning about how cocoa gets processed from seeds to chocolate was great. My favourite chocolate was the coconut bars.

We loved the time we spent here, learning about their efforts to promote sustainable agriculture, local plants, and of course the chocolate making process. The chocolate tasting at the end was the cherry on top, as all of the chocolates they make are delicious! The farm is easy to get to and we would definitely recommend spending a couple of hours here while in Savusavu.

Situated a very short distance from town a visit here should not be missed. From cacao plant to chocolate it is a most interesting and informative visit. An easy walk through the plantation in a rain forest area ,with our most knowledgeable guide Joeli , gave us an insight into sustainable agricultural practices. This was followed by a description of the chocolate making process and a “tasting “. No one should miss trying the 70% Chocolate with a hint of Chai masala. When I Savusavu this experience is a must !!

We loved this place. The manager Richard was lovely and incredibly knowledgable regarding the environment, native and introduced flora, companion planting and most importantly chocolate and chocolate production. He was generous, friendly and had the most gorgeous cats and enormous stick insects and butterfly’s everywhere due to his plant choices. The choclate was Devine. A must do if on Venua Levu.
