Overall good experience. The statues of Lord Siva and Goddess Parvati are good, not as high as I had imagined, but grand enough.
Toy train ride is slow of course and has a good view toward the end. AC in coaches don't work but the mountain breeze was decent. Train starts only after there are about 30-40 passengers.
11am there wasn't much line, which helped with the Ropeway. That trip lasts 3 mins, not much of a ropeway experience, but fastest way to go up. Better views while going down...vs. going up... 1-2 pm lunch break is a strict break, so please plan accordingly.

Am writing this review while in Kailasagiri. On a Saturday morning the place is choc a bloc. Line to the ropeway is 2 kms long but thankfully enough and more Uber taxi available. This place is supposed to be plastic free but the whole park is full of plastic waste strewn around. Shocking to say the least given the number of tourists, the least that can be done is a thorough sweeping job! We took the train which was a pleasant 20 min experience. However ticket collection was again a chaotic affair and no proper procedure or lines for embarking and disembarking. Last but not the least, if relying on uber to pick you up when you are done, use the bus stop as the pick up point. But be prepared to be extra 100 odd, as the drivers have to come up the hill to pick you.

Kailasagiri is one of the prime attractions and a popular picnic spot for all the tourists visiting the beautiful city of Vizag.
Spread over 100 acres on a hilltop, Kailasagiri offers a panoramic view of the surroundings that every nature lover craves for.
A well-maintained park and scenic beauty around.
The major attraction of Kailasagiri is the 40 feet tall statue of Shiva and Parvathi. Kailasagiri derives its name from this statue depicting the abode of Lord Shiva and Parvathi.
This hilltop can be reached by ropeway as well as by road

Not at all maintained, trash everywhere, no footpath to walk, train is too dirty. Only best part is view from height.

It's alright. That's all I can say. Not great but not bad. Wish there was more to do there but it's ok.

You can drive up and park at the top, or there is a "Ropeway" to the top. We took the gondola up and down the mountain side. The Kailasagiri park at the top is a fun family friendly place to visit with a carnival atmosphere. There is a train that circles the park for an extra fee. There are walking paths, great views of the ocean and mountains, and places to sit quietly. There are also carnival type games, food and vendor booths, and a playground. People are friendly and it is a great photo spot. My husband and I went with a friend. The park has something for everyone to enjoy.

Please tell me the order of visiting the places in Vizag by road way
All the visiting places should be in one way
We should not go to one place and come back to visit other place and go forward again to visit other etc

Hi, Kailasgiri Hill Top Park would be a good place to visit. The views from the top are mesmerising. You may take the ropeway/cable car to Kailasagiri Ropeway. The ropeway tickets are available online on iIndiaTrip.

Hi, i want to visit kailashgiri in the afternoon..I ll be staying in hotel in daba garden. Can I reach there by local bus...Or auto/uber is only option..I wish to take cable car ride..I ll be with my two yr daughter...
Skrevet 21. juli 2019
Better take an auto rickshaw or uber cab since you will be travelling with a child as there is no direct bus
Skrevet 22. juli 2019
Book a cab it may charge around 200 rupees get down the hill and go for cable car while return also you get cab from downhill.

No dress code. This is not a closed temple. The 2 statues of Shiva & Parvati are at least 10 tall in open air. For old age people it may be difficult to climb up the gradient road and about 30+ steps . But there are 2 battery cars which will take you round all important points .
Skrevet 21. februar 2017
hi does this temple has steps to be climbed? can this place be visited by old age with ease?
Skrevet 16. januar 2017
There are buses which pky upto the top of the hill and also private vehicles are also is allowed. But once you reach the top though no steps are there to climb it does involve a bit of walking to see around the hill. If the elderly can't walk for long time they can always relax at one of the benches which are there at various points on the hill.
There is a small shiva temple but this tourist spot is known more for hill top views of the sea and city which are truly breath taking when viewed at the right time of the day.

we are planning to visit vizag.. please guide me visiting places order from morning to evening.

Skrevet 18. oktober 2016
It depends on how you are planning your trip.
Couple of places
1) Beemili Beach (suggest early morning before 8am) from Vizag it will be 20 mins ride and you will enjoy the road trip to go there.
2) Rishi Konda Beach
3) INS Kurusura Submarine Museum
4) Simhachalam Temple (1hour Journey from Vizag and Darshan and come back totally it will take 4 hours.)
5) Kailasa Giri (Better plan after 4pm)
6) Ramakrisha Beach
7) Yarada Beach (This needs at least 6 to 7 hours time as you have to traval 15km from Vizag and spend time there and come back) I am giving this option as last as this will eat up your time.
Hope this info helps to enjoy your trip.
