Peu d'artiste sur scène mais l'émerveillement est là. Nous avons pu voir la préparation avec le maquillage sur scène, ensuite le spectacle. La salle est climatisée et la proximité avec la scène permet de bien voir le spectacle.

I have seen my share of cultural performances and this one by far is the most professional - from the makeup session to the quality of the costumes to the engagement of the actors. This was a session for tourists and having ridden in a car for hours that day - a long performance in a language unknown to me would have been good visually but hard to sit through. This was a concise performance which included a description of the kathakali dance form, visual and vocal explanation of the facial expressions and amazing use of the actor's eyes, included a martial arts piece and a short performance of a 'play' - say a one act play. Amazing. The Greenix Village has a 'museum' room which gives greater detail about what you will see and the history of the art form. Silly me, I assumed it was a 'dinner performance' - how American is that? But we had time to see the museum, catch a quick dinner nearby and still be back in time to seethe end of the makeup application before the show began. Contrary to what another viewer said about not a good event for kids- there was a japanese couple with 2 under 6 year old girls - the children loved it. The actors were so expressive with their faces and their hand movements - that the children were imitating/copying them. It helped that the girls sat in the first row of chairs - nothing to distract them from the stage. HIghly recommended. If I was alone - I would check out the other kathakali center in Cochin also - as reviews say there is music there nightly.

ケララ地方の舞踊であるカタカリダンスやモヒニヤッタム等を開催しており、650ルピーでした。
カタカリダンスは直前のメークアップも見ることができましたし、小規模なミュージアムもあるので勉強になりました。
フォートコーチンジェッティーにも近く、エルナクラムに宿をとっていたり、深夜の飛行機で出国する場合はこちらがおすすめかも。

My wife and myself are currently holidaying in Kochi and earlier this evening we attended the Greenix Village Kathakali Make-Up and Show from 1700-1900 hours.
It took place in a comfortable theatre with an enthusiastic audience of around 50. We arrived late but caught the tail end of the Make-Up session which overran slightly but provided a good insight of what we would be seeing in the subsequent Show!
Indeed, the Show itself was well presented and clear instructions were given before each of the 3 performances of which the latter 2 were carried out through a series of hand and eye movements. A little hard to follow, but most interesting to watch with the only complication being a short power outage which - to their credit - didn’t appear to throw any of the performers off their stride.
Well worth a visit.

We checked 2-3 places for watching kathakali show. Greenix which had a bigger area& better hall & kerala kathakali centre which was in a home & looked smaller.
We chose greenix. There was a makeup session earlier. The performance was of 3 parts, which made it interesting.
The guy playing the kathakali male was disinterested, but the female version made up for it.

The history and story of this dance is facinating and watching the creation of the characters unfold on the stage is mesmerising but does require concentration - not recommended for young children

Attended this event last week with friends. Saw the makeup session which was done with utmost concentration. The dance performances were brief and very well done with explanations.

The actors in the Greenix Village cultural show gave us insight into the old cultural dances and hand motions with meaning while telling a story in short vignettes. They were detailed and eye-opening. The theater was small enough to be an intimate experience. Enjoyed the small museum on the site as well.

Greenix è una vera immersione nella cultura del Kerala. Situato nella parte nord di Kalvathy vicinissimo all'imbarco dei vaporetti e quindi raggiungibile tranquillamente anche a piedi se non volete prendere un taxi dal centro di Kochi.
Sarita la proprietaria insieme al gentile socio Stalin vi accoglieranno e curerano ogni dettaglio della vostra visita.
Per i gruppi loro sono in grado di organizzare ogni cosa, da una gita in house boat di uno o più giorni, ad un soggiorno su una spiaggia meravigliosa non lontano da Kochi e fino alla visita delle piantagioni del te o in un resort sulle montagne nella jungla indiana.
