Very interesting buildings and architecture. There are large crowds especially in the stairways and narrow hallways. Most folks did wear masks.

The set of 5 havelis and story associated with it is really interesting. The museum made out of 1st haveli is in itself truely a marvel.

It's on a dingy lane and the approach is not comfortable. However, the pigeons flying in a flock makes for excellent pictures. Also, the architecture of the haveli looks beautiful.

Well if you travel with bigger vehicle or car then leave them far away and go to from local three wheelers or tempo , because there is no parking place and roads are narrow.

IF any visitor using walking sticking or with wheel chair then sorry , no useful for go there no facility for disabled visitors . The stairs are too much for going upper floors and the stairs are narrow.

Ticket - applicable
Ticket for photography - Applicable

Must have - proper shoes & water bottles.

The walls with full of carving of motif & seamless patterns . each room wall and roof is painting with very fine details . The most rooms having the various useful things
for office , living room & kitchen . each thing is having it's own historical story and value.

Early morning is the best time to visit otherwise too much crowed environment created and very small passage for moving here & there.

Very tasteful work done all across the Haveli. roads to reach there are quite narrow - not suitable for cars, so had to walk down. Lot of stair cases inside to climb.

It is a cluster of five havelis having beautiful architecture. There are numerous courtyards, corridors, balconies and galleries depicting exquisite carvings, mirror work, paintings and artwork. You can hire a guide if you wish and it will take around one hour to cover the entire complex.

One of the largest Havelis in Rajasthan initiated in 1805 by Shri Guman Chand Patwa, a wealthy Marwari banker who built 5 different Havelis for his 5 sons who were brocade and jewelry merchants . This haveli took a total of 55 years to be built, finally completed by his wealthy sons in 1860."Patwa Haveli" is a cluster of 5 different small buildings called Havelis in Rajasthan culture and nicknamed the "Taj Mahal of Jaisalmer". Now only one of this Haveli is open to the public as a museum. This Haveli depicts the lifestyle and era of the millionaire or billionaire of his era Shri Guman Chand Patwa and has been renamed "Kothari Patwa ki Haveli" after its new owner Jeevanlalji .Kothari.This edifice with its intricate exterior design towers agaist rest of the buildings on the narrow road.. Entrance fee to the museum was Rs 100 and took the help of a guide. He explained me the local culture and history of the Haveli as also the basic local culture of Jaisalmer. The wall paintings(Murals) ,Jarokhas(Balconies), archways and gateways within this museum haveli which have derived inspiration from Rajput, Mughal and Victorian architecture was enchanting and transfers the visitor into a different time zone and era of Indian history and lifestyle. In the main exhibit hall is a photograph of the present owner Jeevanlalji.Kothari.Thanks to his philanthropy that this Haveli has been restored and preserved in its original grandeur .Saw exhibits of typewriters, camera , fridge, fan's of a different era imported from abroad and used by the Patwa family during their residency in the Haveli. The "Kothari Patwa Haveli" gives a visitor a glimpse into the lifestyle and origin's of one of India's most famed and orthodox business community , the "Marwari Community".A must visit locale in Jaisalmer.

We went there in march 21, there are 5 havelis, of which 2 are open to visit, one is in its original form, yet photogenic and cinematically great, and second is been refurbished and converted to museum kind of setup... Both have different entry fees, and there are local guides who also help you with your photos, we hired sachin joshi, a kind and professional guide, who was very smart and active too, sachin joshi - 077928 04901 in case it helps, his photo skills and patience is worth cherishing...
