If there is one place that does true justice and has kept the rajasthani folk dance & music alive then it’s this place.Try to come lil early so you can grab the best seats.Mattress are put on the floor for comfort and there are benches too for seating. It’s a amazing time to see all amazing artists perform their suites with amazing discipline, skill and smile! The dances are amazing and graceful, attire is stunningly colorful and all the acts are nothing short of extraordinary. If you are taking pics they charge you 100 Rs ( $ 1.35) and tickets are only 100rs,beware of the street touts !! All in all a 5 ⭐️ place to be with family and kids!

Dharohar folk dance is the main attraction here. Happens between 7-8 pm everyday. We booked tickets online in advance for here. Enjoyed the show a lot. Must visit if you are in Udaipur.

Honestly, we could not visit the museum, as the museum closes by 5pm, and by the time we were able to finish our other itenary places & reach, the museum was already closed.
So thing is... there is a Bagore ki Haveli (Palace), where you can visit from 10am to 5pm. From 5pm to 7pm everything is closed. From 7pm onwards, in the same premises, there is a Dharohar show. This is ultimate.
Honestly, the feedback i got from locals is that if you have already visited the City Palace, Bagore's Haveli is ok to skip.
Talking more about the Dharohar show, you can buy tickets during from 5pm to 7pm. I booked tickets online to save the ticket que waiting time. Rs 80 charged extra for online booking / convenience fee :)
Dharohar show essentially comprises of 3 parts.
1. Traditional Folk Dance ~ 15-20 mins
2. Katputli / Puppet show ~ 15-20 mins
3. Dance / Walking on broken glass pieces ~ 15-20 mins
4. Total 1 hour show
You must have already seen this elsewhere, but watching the highly motivated artist and their attitude will bring goosebumps. Do visit.
Seating is first cum first serve. So arrive early (6:30pm types) to grab the best seat.
Seating arrangements are comfortable. My 6 year old kid was comfortable watching the show

The haveli is a wonderful place to visit. We visited at 5.30 PM,possibly the best time.It has a beautiful collection of the antique pieces and artwork. The cultural show too is worth attending.
I would have given it five star rating, but for the misinformation and confusion created by the authorities as well as google map app.
we were all excited to visit the place at 10.00 in the morning, but on checking google map,the place was shown as"closed".Not one person in the resort or anyone else could confirm whether it is closed or open.We called up dharoharfolkance number,a nice lady told us that dance show will begin at 6 pm and we can book either online or reach there by 5.30.Our driver spoke to someone he knew at the haveli and told us if google map says it is closed,it HAS to be closed.
So we passed our time here and there and reached there around 5.15 PM to find that it was open throughout the day,and the 6 PM dance show has been cancelled since many months.
Finally,we saw as much as we could see in 30 minutes and spent rest of the time at Gangor ghat.
The authorities need to be more tourist friendly and the approach road needs repairing badly. If they take the tourists for granted, who knows, the tourists will give them a skip.

The dance show at this place is a result of a lot of hardwork and one feels that 100 Rs is way too low a ticket price for such a well made show. A MUST DO activity if you are in Udaipur. And do buy the pass at the end of the show for the camera/mobile that you carry (voluntary it is) but I think it helps encourage the people behind this show.

Amazing haveli, presents a kaleidoscope of life as it was with the best of Mewar with all paraphernalia. On the ground floor don’t miss crests of the Sisodias and valiant dynasties of Hindu India. There is a rich tapestry of all aspects of life during the time of the Rajput landowners and Sawai vassals, including vignettes from their cuisine, bath, entertainment, music, personal hygiene, and a very fascinating section on the turbans and other headgear worn according to strict classification. Each of the haveli’s rooms is a converted exhibit depicting some facet of life in a haveli. But the highlight of my tour was the guide, Mr Yusuf Khan. Yusuf is a licensed guide from State Tourism, and has encyclopedic knowledge of Rajputs, Mewar royals, and the basic thread of medieval history. He peppers his talks with anecdotal trivia, is extremely witty in a pithy, down-to-earth sense that offers nuances familiar to both Indian & western audiences . Hear him describe the chain of events in a traditional Mewari marriage in his inimitable style and you will get what I mean. Well-read in history, Yusuf also understands the religious roots of society. Though he is Muslim, he is familiar with basic concepts of Hindu faith and pantheon, very relevant and necessary in his profession. Mild mannered, pleasant, very competent for his job, Yusuf enlivens a tour of Bagor. It's an experience just to listen to him. I include his phone out of admiration: Fix an appointment with Yusuf at 9887008255.

the dance program that happens at night costs just 100/- and AWESOME. Anybody who watches the show feels that 100/- is way too lest for the hour long program

The most fantastic and yet highly underrated museum of Udaipur. Not a museum fan myself and this place only caught my eye on the net due to the culture performances. but when I went there the same was cancelled due to corona but the guard there persuaded me to check the place out and seriously I was bewildered by the paintings, the weaponry and even the whole setting that threw me back a few generations in time.
Located right by the Gangor Ghat waterfront, this is not just value for mon ey [INR 20/- as opposed to the INR 300/- at the palace that is clearly overated] but it also has many hidden gems from coloured windows and stained glasses to colourful artifacts and even a shrine to a local warrior god in it.
Definitely do not miss....

We are planning to get tickets for the evening show a day in advance. If we do that, can we skip the ticket line on show day and enter directly? Or will we still have to queue up early?
Basically, are there seperate lines for ticket and for entry? Or is it the same line?
vrinda m
Bangalore, India7 bidrag
Ticket and entry queues are NOT the same. I would recommend you buy tickets the previous day itself and simply walk in about 20-25 minutes prior to the show (so that you get good seats) on the second day.

As far as I remember charges are for Dance show 7-8 PM, not to visit the Haveli and take photos inside Haveli and Puppets.

Hello. I was told that the old city has narrow lanes so cars cannot drive there. Can people drive right to Bagore Ki Haveli or do people have to drive to a parking lot outside of the old city and then walk to this attraction?
KVS_80
Mumbai (Bombay), India23 bidrag
It's good to reach around 6:00 pm atleast if u want to watch the show. And car would definitely be a risk as roads are extremely narrow and many a times tourist vehicles are not allowed inside old city during the day. Ask your hotel/house owner to arrange a trusted rickshaw for u as local rickshaw do quote random rates

Hello,
Firstly for how many days, plan accordingly.
main attractions are: City palace, Fateh sagar lake (must visit), Pichola lake, Bagore ki haveli (in evening puppet show), sahelion ki bari (for relax)....if your time permit then try for haldighati, Kumbhalgarh..
