Decided to walk from our hotel to the museum, easy going as all downhill until i reached the entry and then a struggle up the steep driveway to the entrance. Well worth the effort to view the buildings, the delightful gardens and water features and the many artworks throughout the various galleries. It is the former home of Don Antonio Blanco and the tradition of Blanco art is continued by his only son, Mario. The very useful and informative site map has a comprehensive summary of the artist, the compound and his works. A must visit if in Ubud.

I love art, have studied art, and have been fortunate enough to visit many galleries and museums, but this place just gave me the "ick" overall. Firstly, the entrance fee for this place felt pretty steep (100k - cash only) for what you get. As you enter, there are exotic birds with which you can take photos. I felt a bit gross about it after as it's clear all the birds have clipped wings and the classical music blasting in the background didn't help. The outside of the gallery looks pretty cool, but when you enter, it is like this bizarre colonial shrine to a Dali-wannabe obsessed with the breasts and genitalia of young Balinese women. I have zero issue with nudity, but this just felt quite exploitative (i.e. creepy old white man painting local women). The lighting inside the gallery is also very dim (maybe a good thing?).

visited here last few weeks when i had my Ubud trip in Ubud. after paid the entrance fees, you will see some parrots and hornbills, a staff will come to you,and ask if you want to take pics with them.of course i want! so he helped me,cuz me a bit scare of hornbills,my face might be stiff, some pics he took i dont like,so i asked him to help me again, he is patience, and gave me some advice like how to pose.after that,i entered to the museum.photo is prohibited in the museum.the painting here is unique, mostly woman in naked, romantic paintings.there is a gallery of his son, you can buy painting reproductions of Mr.Blanco and his son. i bought two as souvenirs. also there are some spots for taking IG photos, the staff there will help you, very interesting. if you love arts like me, this museum still worth a visit.

100,000 entry fee was way too much. it's quite dark inside and difficult to really see painting s up close. unless your a huge fan of his then I'd give it a miss. we also found the gardens quite underwhelming. however outside found a fantastic restaurant called zest, which we would highly recommend.

Bali's Blanco Renaissance Museum offers visitors first and foremost a wonderful view of the entrance to the museum itself and its surrounding garden. Similarly, its external and internal architecture are lovely, and its rooftop, accessible from the terrace exit on the second floor of the museum, contains some lovely sculptures and wonderful views of Ubud and the region surrounding itself.
The artwork by Antonio Blanco and his son is interesting (as are some of its frames), and for prospective visitors who would like to learn more about Blanco, his biography in Wikipedia is worth reading.
Entrance fee is reasonable -- just over six US dollars. Photography inside the museum is not pemitted.

Antonio Blanco was neither a talentless "old perv" as some suggest here, nor was he remotely the "Dali of Bali". He was a fairly competent painter who produced some good works, who clearly cultivated an image as a "great artist" and eccentric, far out of proportion to his actual talents. His paintings are of fair quality but the frames - extensions of the artwork - are often very crude and even in poor taste (the foetus perched atop a painting if a pregnant woman being a notable example). The collage work is decidedly second rate, even juvenile. To liken Blanco to Dali is clearly absurd. Those are my conclusions after visiting this peculiar museum, which is housed in what looks like a Russian oligarch's idea of a Renaissance palace. The architecture, surrounding gardens and accompanying birds are quirky but of limited interest. The entrance fee of Rp100,000 is very high for such a niche and uninspiring collection, especially compared to the superb nearby Neka Art Museum, which I would recommend you visit instead (and which holds his best work).

DO NOT VISIT this art museum…it is full of sexism. Extremely creepy how it is all about sexualising women and girls. It’s basically a shrine for a creep who painted naked women and was obsessed with breasts.
There is a sign inside that goes into a heap of detail about Indonesian women and girls’ breasts, it’s so creepy and disgusting. In the last paragraph of the sign it also literally says that we should be thankful for the Dutch colonists (they killed thousands of Indonesians).
Don’t give these creeps your money.
If you respect women, don’t visit this art museum.

A museum devoted to Antonio Blanco, Spanish expat artist who lived in Ubud from 1950. Impressive large building in a nice garden with tropical birds. Just opposite Murni's Warung which is a good place to hang out before or after a trip to Blancos.

Uninteresting and overpriced. For the same entry fee you can have a meal or a Balinese massage. Much better pieces of art are on display for free in many other places. Don’t bother to go, there are so many other things to do in Ubud

This is a very lovely museum devoted to the works of a unique artist who lives in Ubud from the 1950s.
