last month when i revisited ubud, the first place i stayed is a villa around kajeng rice fields.so i have more chance to explore this area. it starts from jl kajeng, you will passed by kajeng arts market, after that you will reach kajeng rice fields ,there are two walk trails here, one toward subak manis trail, another is close to sweet orange warung, normally known as sweet orang trail.in this area, you can see rice fields, farming activities, ducks and birds, also you can see some farmers selling coconut drinks or handicrafts to tourists.if you love nature and walking, then i suggest you coming here to have a rice fields walk.

Beautiful walk whose Check-out is in the center of Ubud.
Passage little frequented but still electric scooters, bicycles..
Access is not that easy.
Half hour/40min journey to do this walk through the rice fields;
quiet and nice photos to take but not unavoidable.

5 minutes from the center of Ubud, a nice walk to escape the hectic atmosphere and traffic of the city. Nothing spectacular, but an authentic atmosphere and some friendly warungs on the way.

Those who want to see real rice fields and in use by families that depend on them do not need to take expensive trips or hire drivers, just enter a few alleys in the center of Ubud and let yourself be taken by the paths.
Some routes are better than others, but you just follow the paths and you get to beautiful landscapes that combine the tropical of the coconut trees with the labuta of the rye trees, very beautiful.

There are still few tourists here, although the infrastructure is also spreading here. Nevertheless, you can take a nice and quiet hike here.

This is a rural area north of Jl. Raya Ubud that is within close proximity to the city centre and a convenient opportunity to walk through working rice fields as part of visits to Ubud. In addition to seeing rice paddies and an impressive water irrigation system, there are numerous villas and some neat little coffee shops and cafes built up along the walkways.
We very much enjoyed a morning walking through the Kajeng Rice Fields recently, including a great stop at the cute little place called Brick Wurang where we were served sweet Banana juice drinks and an order of lumpia while enjoying views of the rice fields. Allow at least 1.5 hours to walk the fields and have a cafe stop before returning to the city centre.

Wow, this visit is so worth it!
A beautiful walk, with little difficulty, except at the very beginning, which has a slight climb.
Beautiful rice fields, people working, life happening.
We took small paths and ended up in even more beautiful places.
We visited Sweet Orange, which has very beautiful views.
Tour little frequented by tourists and is unmissable.

I woke up at 6am after flying into Bali the night before. A friend said "If you wake up, get up and go for a walk" I'm not a walker but as she is a Bali regular, I heeded her advice. And I am so so glad I did.
The beautiful hotel (guesthouse) we were staying at is on JL Kajeng so I walked up the street and followed the signs to Sweet Orange Warung.
It is a head spin to see the heaving street that was filled with markets the night before empty with only a few mopeds moving about. It was, initially, terrifying to see these mopeds on the tiny path I was walking on! But the further I walked, the quieter it became.
I did a 2.2km loop past the closed at 6.30am Sweet Orange Warung and back down to Ubud. The path at the end of the walk all but disappeared and I laughed walking over a plank covering where the path was.
But I did it and LOVED it! Would recommend it to anyone else visiting Ubud.

This is a really nice part of the day tours you can book everywhere in ubud but would definitely recommend visiting early and be prepared for some steps. Very scenic but wasn’t brave enough to try out one of the swings.

The scenery is beautiful. We did this around sunset one afternoon and it certainly is nice to escape the busy city. However, I do agree with other reviewers in that the constant flow of scooters and motorbikes does ruin the vibe of being out in nature. If I was doing this again I would either do it at sunrise or get out of Ubud completely

Hi 👋🏼
We are looking for a driver for tomorrow.
Meeting points would be Alaya Hotel Ubud at 15:00. we would like to have a nice tour of about 3.5 hours and visit Tegalalang Rice Terrace in the evening for sunset.
Maybe one nice place before that.
How much is it and are you available for tomorrow?
Best regards, Natascha

Is the path wet, can you wear trainers/runners?
Skrevet 19. april 2019
It certainly wasn't wet when we walked it. The path itself isn't rough, uneven or boggy. I think you can assume that you can wear whatever you like on your feet.
Skrevet 20. april 2019
Ok so I am in Ubud and am able to navigate the streets on a wheelchair (having to get up and down from it (I can walk a few meters with crutches) because of scooters on the pathway. Will I be able to go to the rice fields in a wheelchair? Is it pathed?
Skrevet 21. september 2018
Yes. Along Jalen kajeng. It is motorbike path

Do we need to pay a fee like Tegalallang Rice Terrace?
Skrevet 5. mai 2018
Free (no fee) This simple pleasant walk does not have terraces and is not an alternative to seeing the spectacular Tegalallang Rice Terraces.

Hi ,do we need a guide for this walk and if not where do we start our walk from.. we are in our mid 60,s withme of medium fitness level , its our first time in Bali and am not sure if we can do this on our own
Skrevet 27. august 2017
hi! you can do it on your own. you just need basket shoes or a good pair of sandals. it starts left from from Puri Lukasam museum. the beginning is an unappealing narrow path. For 400 meters.
