A beautiful long, almost white sandy beach. Large tidal difference that can be up to 2.70 meters. Lots of lovely beach restaurants with amazingly reasonable prices.

Fantastic beach with many small eating & massage places. Child-friendly with the most beautiful sunset, which is best experienced over a big chang.

Just up on a small point is a lovely beach village, that caters to all the touristy needs, well worth a visit during a walk along the very, long stretches of beach, during our visit we could only get there at low tide, as high, is right up to the forest.

Back in Khao Lak for the 3rd time. At a lovely hotel, Casa de la Flora, with great food and our own 20ft pool - but there was no beach to speak of! So 2 of our 10 days we got taxis to and back from Pak Weep. Both times we lunched at Happy Restaurant at the N end, one time with friends from London staying nearby. Nice food, reasonable prices. The beach is great, never too crowded and if you ford an easy crossing to the next beach North you have a 6km curve of quiet, gorgeous bech. Both are good for swimming.

Didn't get to swim in the sea but the beach was incredible. The south end was literally empty on a weekday in mid Dec. Only 1 person actually swimming (lunchtime).
We ate at Krua Thai (3 adults) one day and Boom-Boom (5 adults) the next. Both lunches were excellent about 400 baht per head (depending on how much seafood you order).
There is also the Appissari Massage there, 350 baht per hour.

Located about 15/20 mins drive north from Khao Lak centre, quiet, clean soft yellow Sandy beach with a few small raised rocky areas that the locals use for fishing positions that reach around 2m high at most. Calm warm seas mostly when we visited in October/Nov, lovely to cool off in after sandcastle and rock pool investigating with the children. Ideal for paddling as fairly shallow. Kids also liked all of the exotic shells and loads of hermit crabs that can be found all over the beach. One of the nicest stretches of beach in that part of the coastline that we visited with a handful of restaurants and bars along it.

Even in July - which can probably be classed as wet season, the beach was fantastic. The beach was incredibly clean and peaceful. Definitely worth a visit - we stayed at Mai Resort - which provided walking access to the beach.

We are planning to go to the beach by taxi. How easy is it to get a taxi to get back to the hotel? We would prefer to book one when we are ready to leave. Is there somewhere that will get us a taxi or do we need to prebook one at a set time?
Skrevet 11. mars 2019
We used a taxi that was provided by the owner of our B&B. She charged 100 THB per a person, both ways included. We told her when and what time to pick us up. We didn't use a taxi "from outside". I think it's possible to arrange it easily at a local restaurant of the beach. Or you can ask a taxidriver if he/she can pick you up in the afternoon. Anyway, I saw taxicars on the parking place near the beach between 4-5 o'clock, they were searching for customers..

Hi folks - travelling to khaolak in june - is it safe to swim in ocean (pak weep beach) at this time of the year? Thanks in advance
Skrevet 30. mai 2018
Swimming in the sea in the Wet Season is to be done with caution. The ocean is tougher with potential rip tides and beaches in Khao Lak are generally unpatrolled, no lifeguards or flags except st certain resorts. Take local advice at your resort.

Hi, I am planning to go to Khao Lak next year in February 2018. Can I know which middle class hotel/resorts to stay in Pakweeb beach area?
How long does it take from Pakweeb beach to Khao Lak central town? Is there any taxi from Pakweeb beach to central Khao Lak?
Skrevet 12. mai 2017
plenty of transport available
its about 10 15 minutes
not a lot of hotels on this stretch of beach and you will be paying top price as it is high season
kantary is one
why specifically do you want to stay on pakweeb beach
very good 3-4 star place fairly nearby is the orchid beach

Does anyone know how far this is from la flora in khao lak (not sure which resort of khao lak la flora is)? ..Thank you
Skrevet 5. februar 2017
Your resort is situated only about a 5 minute car journey into the main area of Khao Lak, where many of the restaurants and shops are. There are however plenty of restaurants/ shops and bars within walking distance of your hotel, including the night market.
Pak Weep Beach is in the opposite direction and about a 10 minute car journey or taxi/tuk tuk ride. It'd be a long walk there along the beach. It's easy to find and worth a visit as it really is a beautiful beach.

How far from Bhandari resort, Khan Lak.
Skrevet 17. oktober 2016
Hi, it's a car ride / taxi ride away. It would probably take about 10 minutes for you to get there from where you're staying....well worth it though!

We have booked to stay at the Mia Khao lak resort next March. I have read in some of the hotel reviews that the beach restaurants have been demolished. We booked the hotel specifically to be able to eat at the local restaurants, can anyone advise what has happened and if there will be local restaurants available? We are travelling with two young children so won't be able to walk far. Thank you. Laura
Skrevet 21. juni 2016
Hi Laura, we just got back from Mai resort and yes the beach restaurants and shops have been forced to close by the government. According to the locals the resort's have paid off the government to make them close. Mai resort is nice but the food is very ordinary and expensive in comparison. And it's definitely not walking distance to Khao Lak! About a 10 to 15 minute taxi ride from the resort which is about $11 Australian. We also had 2 kids with us and the kids club was very boring, and lacked supervision. The kids didn't want to go there at all.
Khao Lak is a really nice place to stay and we definitely will make our way back there again.

Hi,
I would be travelling to Khao Lak next month (3rd Sept) and I was wondering if this is recommended to go to during the monsoon weather?
Thank you.
Skrevet 13. august 2015
Hi
Because we live in the tropics the rain doesn't worry us because it's is hot but I would not recommend travelling there in the typhoon season.
