A very small but interesting place
nov. 2021
Curiously sitting in the middle of a residential/commercial part of Sharjah, featuring a single hangar and a few small rooms, this is a place for flight history enthusiasts only. We were the only people on a working day. Very few vintage aircrafts in the hangar and a few historical photographs of first planes and flights to the middle east. Can spend 30 minutes at the most especially if you are in Sharjah. But not worth the round trip from Dubai.

A good spot to visit in sharjah and visitors will get information from the front desk itself..one person will come along with you to assist .. Nice historic place. If you enjoy reading and immersing yourself in the past then do visit.
A must visit place in sharjah.

Aviation hidden gem in Sharjah
okt. 2021
A hidden gem in Sharjah! Ideal for aviation enthusiasts and military from RAF. But interesting through the decades. You can explore the history of the airport as it was up to the current aviation at the new airport.

A must see, staff very helpful 10/10 thank you 🙏

Aviation History
feb. 2020 • Familie
Probably the best aviation history in a well defined story. From the the days of the Wright brothers to Neil Armstrong’s first step on the moon. Description of the theory of flight using birds is amazing. The building may look a bit run down but the heartbeat of this museum is the preservation of the old Sharjah airport in the city. The old runway is actually a city road now. Amazing! I will visit again. To the administration behind this treasure of Sharjah, a million thanks. Maybe...just maybe, I would like to clean the tower with my own hands...just a passion from a retired air traffic controller from Malaysia.

Aviation History Gem!
mar. 2019 • Familie
The Al Manatta museum is a little gem buried deep in the heart of Sharjah.
For anyone with an interest in aviation history it’s a great little spot.
The museum is located in what was the airport buildings of the first airport in the UAE and where the first airplane landed in the UAE in 1932.
The museum charts the story of those pioneering Royal Mail flights which passed through, with the establishment of a Royal Air Force station to support those flights..
The museum hangar includes several examples of early aircraft which played a part in the history of aviation in the Gulf area and are all types which served with Gulf Aviation which became Gulf Air.
There’s also some interesting artefacts from the RAF days including a display of the first cinema in the UAE!
There’s all so some interactive and science bits related to flight to educate younger guests.
All in all, this is a great little place to spend a couple of hours.
The one thing to be aware of is there’s no cafe or refreshments available other than a vending machine for water..

Trip down memory lane

Highly recommended especially if you have kids that are plane mad because they have the opportunity to sitting in the cockpit and "fly" the plane.

Its a shame that some of the interactive exhibits weren't working.
