We booked last minute and then cancelled due to the cost being in US$ which substantially increased the cost for us. This should be made clearer when booking.

What a wonderful excursion! A World Heritage site indeed! A very special place.
The bus ride was very comfortable. The tour guide gave us very helpful information during the bus ride, and good maps! She left us to explore on our own at our own pace. This is better than following a guide. An absolutely delightful excursion!

This bus tour of the World Heritage Site of Shirakawa-go and Ainokura villages exceeded our expectations. Our bus guide Yamashita gave us very good information during the bus ride that included the best walking routes, what to see and where to eat plus some historical and local information. I could not have visited these 2 places on my own without this bus tour. Definitely great value for the money and would highly recommend to anyone wanting to see these 2 places.

Local buses are the worst.
The driver just drives without doing anything to a passenger who is coughing right in front of him.
And he has an overbearing attitude.
I swear I will never use this bus again.
They have no sense of professionalism.
It ruined my trip.
I feel so sick

It was a wonderful tour and even the journey to get deep into the valley was scenic.
The order we visited the UNESCO villages was good. We arrived at the more remote village when there was only one other tourist group visiting.
The tour guide gave good advice.

The views were amazing and our tour guide suggested which places to visit (given that we have limited time to explore the place). The tour guide also properly explained the history of the place.

We came to Takayama with the intention of visiting Shiragawa-Go. The weather had been variable so we waited until it settled and then couldn’t get a reservation on the scheduled buses. We had seen this tour but were concerned we wouldn’t get a lot of value as it said the commentary was only in Japanese. However its bonus was a second village which was impossible on the regular bus. We had no choice and we booked it. What a great decision. The first village was stunning AND there was English commentary. I suspect that they can’t provide English commentary every day so they won’t promise what they can’t deliver.
The explanations were fabulous, the time in the villages wasn’t rushed. It was super easy and we were delighted with our decision.

This was a good tour. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Shirakawa-Go village. It was great to experience this life outside of the big cities such ask Tokyo, Osaka or Kyoto. For this tour, you need to be at the bus station at least ten minutes before departure. The instructions says meet at 8:30, but that’s when the bus leaves. You need to be there before then to get your tickets if you booked online. They will at the appointed time on the dot.

I took the Shinjuku Takayama Line. I had been using Keio Bus services until now, but this was my first time using Nohi Bus. I have used the Tokyo Takayama Line and Nagoya Takayama Line many times, but this was my first time using Nohi Bus. I have only used Keio, JR Central, and Meitetsu services, which have luxurious seats and toilets. To be honest, Nohi Bus's express buses are a bit shabby compared to Keio, JR Central, and Meitetsu, as the seats are not wide seats and there are no footrests. However, since the seats are not wide seats, the seats are very wide and my feet are comfortable. I did not get tired even after the long distance of about 6 hours. Also, as it is a company that operates mountain routes, the ride on the mountain roads was safe and smooth. I have always only used Nohi Bus's local route services between Takayama and Oku-Hida, but I thought that express services were also a good option. I will continue to use them when I visit Hida.

Ciao, dovrei prenotare 2 biglietti per Shirakawago con partenza da Kanazawa il 27/12 e ritorno il giorno successivo. Sul sito però mi esce il messaggio che i biglietti non sono disponibili: vuol dire che non ce ne sono più oppure si possono prenotare da 1 mese prima (come ho letto)?
Abbiamo un soggiorno prenotato a Shirakawago, posso essere sicura di riuscire a trovare 2 posti in autobus aspettando fino al 27/11 per prenotarli?

Io li ho comprati due settimane prima online per un viaggio ad agosto. A mio avviso troverete posto anche a fine novembre. In ogni caso Shirakawago si visita in tre/quattro ore a meno che non vogliate appositamente dormire li. A presto

Hi,
im plan of taking Nohi Bus from Tokyo to Takayama, staying for 3 nights.
Then from Takayama to Kanazawa, looking into the bus timetable, for example if im taking 7.50am reach Shrakawa-go at 8.40am, can i choose to continue my depart to Kanazawa, taking 11.25am? instead 8.50am?
My travel will be in December.

Partendo da takayama per arrivare a kanazawa volendo fare una visita di 2/3 a shirakawa, biosgna fare 2 biglietti? (Takayama-
Shirakawa e shirakawa-kanazawa) oppure si puo fare direttamente takayama-kanazawa scendere a shirakawa e prendere un bus successivo?

Con nouhibus è possibile visitare shirakawago partendo da Takayama e arrivando lo stesso giorno a kanazawa. Io ho fatto il giro inverso, ma ricordo che era previsto anche il giro inverso. Nouhibus ha anche la biglietteria online
