If you have been to Kyoto Nishiki market, just imagine this place as a very scale down small alley of that. With lots of similar looking stalls on both sides for you to sit down and eat. Only difference is here, you are eating fresh crabs, oysters, etc.

As soon as you get off Otaru Station!
There are tanks on the left and right, crabs and squid
Other fresh seafood.
Some of them cook on the spot.
(There's usually a table and chairs in the back).
Snow crab, sashimi, boiled and grilled in three types
It was sweet and delicious.
And I bought some dried scallops.
He gave me about 500 yen extra and gave me a discount.

Also known as the Otaru Triangle Market, is located near the Otaru railway station/bus terminal, to your left when you leave the station. The market is essentially a narrow indoor passageway with about a dozen seafood stalls on either side. It is a very clean wet market with lots of live fresh seafood on display – it can get relatively congested with tourists and customers trying to access the shops. It’s a great place to select your seafood from one of the stalls and get it cooked at one of the cafes. You just need to put your name down on a list and wait to be called once your meal has been done.

Interesting seafood market that is quite hard to miss, as it is located just next to Otaru train station and bus terminal.
Great place for anyone that has a craving for fresh seafood. But be prepared to experience a sensory overload, personal space is also hard to come by and there are just so much to see, hear and smell all crammed into a confined space.
Suggest wearing good non-slip shoes as the footpath at the market has a gentle gradient slope and can be tricky and slippery at times.
Both sides of its narrow passageway are packed with stalls either selling fresh catch of the day or outlets for dine in. Some of shops seems particularly popular with tourists judging from its snaking long queues, but if you are like me and just want to experience what its like to dine in a middle of a local seafood market then just park yourself to whichever outlet that catches your eye and more importantly has the shortest queue.
The outlet that we went has generous delicious food portion at super reasonable price all packaged together with warm friendly services.

The market is small, with a structure where you go down a flight of stairs from the station, and there aren't many shops, but the products they sell look fresh. The prices are probably a little cheaper than in the outer market in Sapporo or Nijo Market. There are long queues at the restaurants run by the shops, and you have to wait quite a while.

If you can brave the very crowded claustrophobic atmosphere you will find fresh seafood. There are some restaurants inside with long queues and although there’s a numbering system the alleys are just too small and the place just too crowded to wait outside the restaurant. You will need to exit and route back to check if your number is called. I had really delicious and fresh kaisendon and I would gladly brave all of that to eat it again.

A bit of a tourist trap, it’s a small market next to the Otaru station, walk left and up, it’s a small entrance into a small crowded market. We were only 2 people so not enough to share a king crab or snow crab, we shared a flower crab and it was ok, but pretty expensive 1500 Y per 100g. Wouldn’t do it again

Best seafood bowl I have ever had anywhere in Japan (and I have been to a lot of places in Japan LOL). Less than 5 minutes from the train station. Upon exiting the station, walk towards the market which is on the left side. Upon entering the market, walk down the narrow stall and see all the fresh produce. Make sure you try the seafood bowl. Went during the summer which was uni season and it did not disappoint.

Bustling small seafood market - mostly filled with tourist it seemed. Stall hawkers encourage you to try their fresh seafood - and it certainly is fresh - some of it still crawling, swimming, breathing. Huge oysters, clams, scallops, king crab, snow crab, hairy crab, fishes of all types. We had some scallop sashimi and uni.

Hi
Just wanted to ask which market should I go for breakfast?
My plan is I will visit in the morning and visit Shinnantaru market for breakfast.
Then I will travel upward which I will have my lunch at Sankaku market...
And advice?
Skrevet 5. oktober 2018
I went to Sankaku market twice so breakfast or lunch is good.i did not go to the other market but as a general rule plan your day and route that you can cover both regardless breakfast or lunch as the ingredients are fresh so they good.

How do the prices compare for fresh dishes like unidon to niji market in Sapporo?
Skrevet 22. oktober 2016
Prices lower in comparison, however if its non season items may be same. I think its best you check around all the stalls for any specific items you wish to try.
